When I took a closer look to the previous Buenos Aires Marathon, I couldn’t believe how beautiful the location was. Spring brings the best out of Avenida Figueroa Alcorta and that is when the marathon is happening. Here is some details about the race and some links for further information. Enjoy!
Attracting up to 12,000 runners from around the world,The Buenos Aires marathon is the biggest such event in the southern hemisphere.
The route takes in some of the city’s most emblematic, historic and symbolic sites, such as the obelisk, the Cabildo, the Teatro Colón, the Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, the Tres de Febrero park, and the neighbourhoods of La Boca and Puerto Madero.
The 2019 edition of the classic 26-mile (42 kilometre) race takes places on September 22, starting at Avenida Figueroa Alcorta, in the neighbourhood of Belgrano. If you’re not ready for a full marathon, the big race is preceded by the Buenos Aires Half Marathon on August 25.

he 21 K Buenos Aires – 2018 edition will be released on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Avenida Presidente Figueroa Alcorta 7.000, Monroe corner. The test, presented by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, is organized by the Ñandú Race and Marathon Association, supervised by the Metropolitan Athletics Federation and the Argentine Athletics Confederation, including the 2018 National Half Marathon Championship.
.A For foreign and Argentine athletes registration is only online through the official website www.registrationmaratondebuenosaires.com. The values of the inscriptions and payment mechanisms will be informed by this means and are subject to modification. Once the Online registration period has ended, all pre-registrations that have not been paid lose their validity, being canceled. Likewise, the period to make requests for discounts or scholarships expires. The organization reserves the right to accept new registrants after this period, under special conditions that will be established in a timely manner.
