Cape Town Cycle Tour 2018
The Cape Town Cycle Tour which was previously held under the name of one of the sponsors, the Cape Argus is a cycling event held in Cape Town, South Africa and it is the largest, timed cycling event in the world.
Traditionally the race is held on the second Sunday in March. This is a large international event with more than 30,000 people taking part from all over the World. The route is 110km long and you will ride through various town and communities in the Western Cape of South Africa.

Thursday March 8 and Friday March 9, 2018 – Arrival days
You have the possibility to arrive Thursday or Friday. We provide airport transfers to the hotel at a supplement of just £ per person for a return taxi transfer with bikes. Please let us know your flight time and we will ensure the transfer is ready and waiting for you on arrival. E-mail us
Tonight is your first night at the conveniently located hotel: the 5 star Westin hotel in the centre of Cape Town. You are free to enjoy a meal out in town tonight. there are many nice restaurants nearby.
Saturday March 10, 2018 – Registration and event EXPO
Today is the day of registration at the event expo. You need to register for tomorrow’s event and collect your race pack. After this you can have a look around the event expo and spend the day around Cape Town.

Why not cycle to the Expo this year? Not only will you loosen your legs for the big day but you will also reduce your carbon footprint. There will be a safe and secure bike park, sponsored by Thule, at the Green Point Athletics Stadium where you can leave your bike in safe hands while getting your race pack and browsing the incredible range of vendors exhibiting their merchandise.
Sunday March 11 – The 2018 Cape Town Cycle Tour
You are just a few kilometres from the start so you can simply ride to the start and participate in this fantastic event today. After the finish, simply ride the short distance back to the hotel.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour is owned and staged by the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust and it is the largest, timed cycling event in the world. On the morning of Sunday, 11 March, 35 000 cyclists will line up to ride the 109km route through some of the world’s most spectacular scenery that includes the iconic Table Mountain as a backdrop.
Monday March 12 and Tuesday March 13 – Departure days
Departure Monday or on Tuesday if you want to stay to enjoy this fantastic city a little bit longer. Airport transfer is available.
