SUMMARY:Etape Caledonia 2021
DESCRIPTION:It is hard for riders to not enjoy the views of the Scottish Highland on their 85 or 40-mile routes. Once completed\, riders can sit back\, relax\, and soak up the atmosphere in the Event Village. \n\nEtape Caledonia routes\n\n\n\nThe two Etape Caledonia routes take in the best of what the Highlands has to offer. Winding roads\, tree-lined avenues\, Lochs\, mountains and everything in between. The 85-mile course is technical and challenging in parts but still allows for moments where you can take a break from the hurt locker and take in the stunning views. The 40 mile brings in some challenges but takes out the steep climb of Schiehallion. You can find more information on both routes on our route maps below. \n85 Mile Route \n85 miles of closed road cycling beginning and concluding in Pitlochry. The course consists of rolling hills and forest-lined roads around Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel\, combined with the demanding\, twisting climb of Mt Schiehallion (1\,083m). \nThe course takes you up to Trinafour with a challenging ascent of 374m and backs down towards Kinloch Rannoch. Once you have cycled around Loch Rannoch you will begin your ascent up Schiehallion (382m). Afterwards\, enjoy the descent down towards Aberfeldy and head back towards the finish line in Pitlochry. Make sure to relax and enjoy celebrating your achievement in the event village festival. \n40-mile route \nA 40-mile option of closed road cycling beginning in Pitlochry. The course will take a left away from the 85-mile route at Tummel Bridge where you will begin their ascent to 392m. Once you have finished the climb you can enjoy a descent taking you South towards Coshieville and round to Aberfeldy. The route then takes you back around to the finish line back in Pitlochry\, where you can relax and celebrate your achievements at the event festival. \nIt will be hard for you to not enjoy the views\, whilst taking breaks at the number of food and drink stations placed around the course. Once completed\, it’s time to sit back\, relax\, and soak up the atmosphere in the Event Village. You can stick around afterwards and raise a glass with friends and family to toast your cycling achievement. \n\nRegistration: https://www.etapecaledonia.co.uk/enter-now \n

DESCRIPTION:Race in the immensely popular Brighton Marathon. This race has everything: live bands\, spectator-lined streets and a hero’s welcome. Whether you’re chasing those PBs or having a crack at your first marathon\, join thousands of runners in this lively seaside event. \nFrequently asked Questions: \nCan I wear headphones at the Brighton Marathon?\nWhilst you can listen to music\, you are advised not to. It’s important that participants can hear what’s happening during the race. \nCan I defer my place at the Brighton Marathon?\nYes\, you can defer your entry to the following year if you can’t take part due to illness\, injury or other unforeseen circumstances. \nWhere can I find results for the Brighton Marathon?\nYou can find finisher photos and results on the Brighton Marathon Weekend website after the race. https://www.brightonmarathonweekend.co.uk \nDoes any of the entrant fee for the Brighton Marathon go to charity?\nNo\, the entrant fee goes towards the cost of putting on the event. However the event works closely with local\, national and international charities in helping them to raise millions of pounds for their causes. Each year\, around 300 charities benefitted from an association with the event. \nWhat is the minimum age for Marathon and 10k Participants\nThe minimum age for marathon participants is 18 on race day\, and participants for the BM10k must be 17 on race day. \nHow can I change my race time for the Brighton Marathon?\nYou can change your estimated finish time by accessing your account via: https://raceroster.com. Once logged in\, please select the drop down in the top right corner\, and then ‘Participant Dashboard’\, from here you can update your details. \nNew start time: For the thousands of participants who travel to the start on Race Day from outside of the city\, the start time of 9:45am will increase public transport options and offer a more convenient timeframe in which to arrive ready and prepared to run. \nHotels: Although Brighton has an abundance of B&Bs and hotels\, they fill up quickly around the marathon weekend so we’d recommend that you book in nice and early! \nParking and public transport: We will be providing a Park and Ride service to get runners and their spectators around\, but again\, this will likely sell out so book in advance. \nNB. No refunds will be given for bus tickets in case you decide not to run or take the bus. \nWe strongly advise against travelling into the city centre on the morning of the event as there will be road closures in place and parking restrictions. We thoroughly recommend using the Park & Ride service\, to avoid any potential issues with getting to the start on time. \nTrain: Please be sure to check the National Rail website when booking your tickets and closer to the event for any potential service alterations that may affect your journey. \nOn arriving at Brighton station\, the seafront and city centre are just a tenminute walk away. There is also a taxi rank and bus service immediately outside the station forecourt but please note that there will be road closures in place on Race Day. \nBus or Coach: Bus services run across the city\, also connecting with many local towns and villages. Please check the Brighton & Hove Bus Company website for the most up to date travel information and full timetables. There are also transfer coaches from London and Gatwick available to book via Zip Travel here: https://zip-travel.com/2019/04/14/brighton-marathon/ \nTaxi: If you require a taxi for travel to or within Brighton & Hove\, you can find a list of taxi companies on Yelp. \nAir: London Gatwick is the closest airport and is 30 minutes away by train (trains run direct from the airport to Brighton Station) or 35-40 minutes by car. London Heathrow is about 2 hours away by train or coach. Visit National Express for details of coaches that run from these airports to Brighton\, and for drop off points in the city. \nBM Ride – Park & Ride \nBM Ride participants are advised to use the Mill Road Park & Ride site\, which is within a short cycle of the Velo Village. Participants will be expected to park and cycle to the start line\, as bike transport will not be provided.

A leaderboard will be published on 15th March. \nTargets: \nIn order to give you and your team something to aim for we have released the below targets. SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Research UK Norfolk Flyer
DESCRIPTION:Back again for 2020 is Alzheimer’s Research UK Norfolk Flyer – a classic Autumn sportive presenting an opportunity to get some pre-winter miles in. Riders will get to cycle on a network of mainly fast\, quiet country lanes that criss-cross the beautiful and gently undulating Norfolk countryside – not forgetting the added grandeur of the Royal Sandringham Estate. More importantly\, this ride supports Cycling Down Dementia; a fundraising event from our 2020 charity ride partner\, Alzheimer’s Research UK. \nStarting in the traditional working market town of Fakenham\, the ride heads out from the Racecourse where epic and standard routes will part ways almost immediately. Our short route heads north-west on this typically flat section of land\, towards the pretty villages of North Creake and onwards west to Great Bircham\, offering a traditional taste of East Anglia with its millponds and flint cottages. \nFor those wishing to clock up the mileage\, our standard route begins with an additional easterly loop from the racecourse crossing the River Wensum before the rolling country terrain opens up. Pedal through quaint villages including Fulmodeston\, Hindringham and Binham\, briefly skirting into the gorgeous Norfolk Coast AONB. \nShortly after Little Walsingham\, the epic route re-joins the standard route\, passing Stanhoe and Great Bircham. You’ll pedal westward as far as the village of Snettisham\, just 5-miles from the coast and within a stone’s throw of the Snettisham RSPB Nature Reserve. \nRemaining inland\, save enough in the tank to turn south and enter the tree-lined grounds of the Royal Sandringham Estate\, which always looks grand in Autumn colours. Only a short ride then separates you from the royal grounds and a finisher’s medal back in Fakenham\, passing the Royal Stud and continuing through Anmer\, Great Massingham and Litcham. \nSHORT – https://www.strava.com/routes/2726431182178052832\nSTANDARD – https://www.strava.com/routes/2726431079318292040
