DESCRIPTION:The swim course is set for Flowing Lake in TaiTung.\nThe two-lap swim is in a man-made reservoir with easy views for spectators to watch from the shore. The course starts from a pontoon in an anti-clockwise direction with a total of two turn buoys. The average water depth for most of the course is 2.5m. The swim course is in crystal clear water from a natural spring and mild temperatures. \nThe following rules will apply to the swim:\nWetsuit: to be confirmed at race briefing.\nEvent swim cap: compulsory and is provided at registration check-in. \nTransition 1 (T1)\nExiting the swim course at Flowing Lake\, you will need to collect your T1 (swim to bike) bag and proceed to either the men’s or women’s changing tents. Once you have changed into your cycling gear\, please place all of your swim gear in your T1 bag and leave at the collection point. One of the Volunteers will collect your T1 bag which will be placed at your bike. Bikes will be pre-racked (by you) the day before the race in numerical order. Your helmet must be clipped on before unracking your bike\, and you must proceed on foot to exit T1 and head out onto the bike course. \n  \n\nBIKE – 180km​\n\n \n\nThe 180km bike is set on an undulating two-lap course which heads north between the soaring Carp Mountains and spectacular Pacific Ocean coastline.\nThe course heads out of town over ZhongHua bridge and hits the coast shortly after XiaoYeLiu. After which it continues along Taiwan’s beautiful east coast rolling through Doulan and turning around BaWonWon to head back to TaiTung city to then turnaround for a second lap. \nAid Stations\nAid stations on the bike will be approximately 20km apart. These will have bike bottles with sports drink or water in them. Energy bars\, salty snacks and bananas will also be available from specific aid stations. \nDrafting\nIf you are caught drafting you will be penalized and/or disqualified. Please attend the Race Briefing for clarification on our drafting rules. \nTransition 2 (T2)\nOnce you come to the end of the bike\, you must dismount before you enter T2 and walk your bike to your numbered rack. You must once again collect your T2 bag (bike to run) and proceed back to the men’s or women’s change tents to prepare for the run. DESCRIPTION:The Bali Ocean Swim is another beautiful GSS swim that follows the ever-growing trend of excellent open water swims in exotic and exciting locations. \nA province of Indonesia\, Bali is also known as the Island of the Gods and for good reason. This island paradise is covered by lush jungle\, rolling hills\, volcanic mountains\, terraced rice patties\, beautiful beaches and some of the most beautiful snorkeling and diving in the world. It’s of little wonder why Bali quite consistently wins a variety of different travel awards. The race is specifically located in near Kuta\, the known as a surfing mecca for many tourists. \nThe race itself is hosted by the Bali Sports Foundation\, a charity that aims to improve the lives of children in Indonesia through the power of sport and play for development\, health and peace. Proceeds from the race go to providing funding for a water and swimming safety program for disabled children and youth in Bali. There’s a little something for everyone with a 1.2km\, 5km and 10k distance available. The course is well-marked and swimmers swim around buoys as well as traditional Indonesian boats that also provide a convenient place for a feed in the longer distances. \nIf you’ve been waiting for an excuse to go on an adventure to one of the most beautiful islands on the planet then the Bali Ocean Swim is your chance!

The collection will be held on Saturday\, August 1 between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.\nThere will be NO registrations taken after 12 noon on Thursday\, July 30. \nAWARDS\nThe awards presentation will be held at WAMC Clubrooms at approximately 10.30 am\n \nDRAW PRIZES\nBy just finishing the 21.1km or 5km event and attending the awards ceremony\, you are eligible to win some fantastic draw prizes. Your attendance (not someone else holding your race number) is necessary to qualify. \nHEALTH & SAFETY\nEntrants must not take pets on the run. Skateboards\, roller-skates/rollerblades or similar devices\, are strictly forbidden due to the risk of injury to participants. Be aware we may not have exclusive use of some of the shared paths.\nAll runners will assemble in the advised start area by foot and obey Police and Officials’ directions whilst awaiting the official start.\nTo ensure your safety and that of everyone else in the race\, the use of headphones or any musical device is strongly discouraged. Any use of headphones is a safety hazard since such use may compromise a participant’s ability to hear critical safety and/or directional instructions\, especially instructions that may arise in an emergency situation.\nThere are no prizes for running prams and we request all those pushing running prams not to be competitive\, start from the rear and enjoy the experience. Pushing through runners could lead to injuries.\nDehydration can be potentially lethal\, particularly if you overextend yourself in hot and/or humid conditions. However\, your body can still overheat even if climatic conditions are only moderate. Ensure you drink plenty of water throughout the day prior to the event and drink early in the event before you become thirsty. Stop to walk or at least slow down at drink stations to allow adequate rehydration. DO NOT compete if you have had diarrhoea within 48 hours prior to the event or are suffering from a viral infection or even feeling unwell.\nREMEMBER to also drink plenty of water after the event. If you feel distressed\, disorientated\, dizzy\, or excessively tired\, SLOW down or rest for a while. If you do not improve WITHDRAW.
