SUMMARY:The Bridge Children's Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The 7th Bridge Children’s Triathlon will take place on the 13th July 2025. Entries are now open for the 2025 Dartford Bridge Children’s Triathlon. Every year we learn a bit more and we try and improve our events.\nNew swim course for this year’s children’s race. No lap’s just one loop for each race. 50m\, 150m\, 200\, 300\, this will make the swim easier for the children. \nDue to time restrictions we are limited to only 50 in each age race wave. Boys and girls may be racing in the same wave. The children’s race is a stand alone race now. It was to hard to run it after the adult race. We need to have reopened the road by 10am so all waves will need to start on time. \nWe will be fencing off all areas this year for safety reasons. We will also be moving the Transition area down to the trees to give us more room. The Finish will also be moved 20m again to give us more room (see site plan) \nRegistration will only open at 5.30am for the children’s race. All children must be at the start area 15 minutes before their wave is due to start. Start times will be sent out the week before the race date by e-mail. They will also be posted on the web site \nIf you have any questions please feel free to ask before the day of the race. Estimated start time for each age group. This will be confirmed on 10th July. \n\nTri-Star 4 15/16 6.30 am\nTri-Star 3 13/14 7.30 am\nTri-Star 2 11/12 8.15am\nTri-Star 1 9/10 9.00am\nTri-Start 8 9.30am\n\nPlease note this will be a wet suit swim for the children’s race. SUMMARY:The Original Grim Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Grim Challenge 2022\nThe GRIM is one of the original muddy/trail/obstacle races with a history that dates back to 2003. After a COVID absence in 2020\, it bounced back strongly in 2021 with more than 1000 runners taking part in the event. It returns in 2022 in much the same format: the route takes you over Army vehicle testing ground in Aldershot with two distance options\, a main race 8-miler and a lighter version over a shorter 4-mile course. \nAlthough the GRIM is a tough trail race in which you will certainly find yourself at times cold\, wet and dirty\, it is not an obstacle race\, it’s a running event. We don’t build any ramps\, walls or swings on the course. All the obstacles are natural\, formed by tanks driving over the route or by incessant rain in the weeks leading up to the event. Of course\, at this stage\, we can’t guarantee the rain but it’s never let us down before! In a few places\, you will be crawling under cargo nets or wading though waist-high water. The distance may not sound daunting but don’t take this lightly\, on a cold December morning\, the GRIM is a challenge and you will think it aptly named when you have run it. \nWe also have a new charity partner… Combat Stress. \nCombat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For over a century\, it has helped former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)\, anxiety and depression. Today it provides specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict\, focusing on those with complex mental health issues. \nThe work it does is life-changing and often life-saving. We are delighted to be working and supporting the work Combat Stress at the GRIM Challenge. All routes offer beautiful views over the Mole Valley\, Ranmore Common and the North Downs\, and runners are welcome to run as quickly as possible or take their time and enjoy the wine sampling stations on the route. \nThe drinks stations are what separates this event from all the others. Not just any old drinks stations\, the last 2 along the route serve wine and food and soft drinks\, and with marathon runners completing 2 laps\, that means double the wine. Waves will start at 9:45 am in 15-minute increments all the way until 10:45 am. A preferred start wave will be chosen by runners when registering for the event. \nThe 10k has two waves starting at 11 am and 11:15 am. \nCut-off Times \nThere are a strict 2 hours 50-minute cut-off time for the first lap of the Marathon\, and all runners must be able to run a 5 hr 30 mins time. Any runners unable to complete the first lap in this time will be asked to stop and given a Half Marathon finisher’s medal. \nFancy Dress \nMost participants show up in a fancy dress to participate in this fun and friendly event\, so don your best clothes and enjoy the live music and entertainment around the course. \nT-Shirt Sizes \nT-shirts are included in the price of entry for Marathon and Half Marathon runners but not 10k runners.
