DESCRIPTION:Location: \n\n\n\nRussell Park\, Bedford\, Bedfordshire\, MK40 3RH \n\n\n\nThis chip-timed event is a sure-fire guarantee to give you the best chance of a PB in the Half-Marathon or 10K. \n\n\n\nThe one lap 10k course starts and finishes on the beautiful Bedford Embankment and runs out alongside the flat\, tree lined river Ouse. After heading out towards Priory Park and a lap of the beautiful Priory Lake you’ll return to the Embankment over the Town Bridge and hearing the cheers of the crowds at the finish line. \n\n\n\nThose tackling the Half Marathon will head back out for a second-lap with a slight extension to make up the accurate 21.1km (13.1 mile) Half Marathon distance. \n\n\n\nThe course will have both kilometre markers for the 10k and mile markers for the Half Marathon. \n\n\n\nThe whole route is on traffic-free tarmac or firm paths and with less than 50m of elevation across the 10k\, and 100m across the Half Marathon its bound to be a PB buster! \n\n\n\nThis event is more than just a run. SUMMARY:Dormouse Challenge
DESCRIPTION:What’s a 6 hour event?\nIt is an event that enables all abilities of runner to run together (or hike/walk!). Ultimately you can run as many 5k laps as you wish in the time limit. You can run one lap in 20 minutes\, pick up your medal and Big Bear drink and go home! Alternatively you can head out on your 15th lap at 14:55 and finish in 6:30 having covered over 50 miles! It’s completely up to you. \nThere is no pressure from us\, but we’ll also see if you want one more lap! The format is great for people looking to run further than they’ve ever done before\, do a long training run for future events or to enjoy a sociable event with your friends. \nWhere is it?\nSalcey Forest is a Forestry England site with a café and toilets near Northampton. Use the post code NN7 2HX for Sat Navs . It is here  on What 3 Words. \nYou do have to pay to park (we’ve negotiated a special offer of £3.50 for the day! We’ll send emails out to entrants to make this happen).  That said\, be a hero and car share\, save money and the world! \nThe number 33 bus stops inside Salcey Forest (just after 9am) and goes between Northampton and Milton Keynes. \nIt is 18 minutes from Northampton and 9 minutes from Junction 15 of the M1. The closest train station is Northampton. \nHow far is the race?\nYou decide! The 3.5-mile off-road loop means your race can be 5k or even over 80K and anywhere in between. You decide how many laps you’re going to do on the day within the 6-hour time limit. If you’re looking to cover a marathon distance you’ll need to complete 7 laps (+ a little out and back) and a half marathon will be 4 laps (and a little long at 14 miles!). \nCourse description:\nThe route is along well maintained pathways. There isn’t a meter of asphalt and the pathways are mainly crushed stone or very well trodden open forest floor. Obviously being in the middle of a forest the narrower ones are covered in tree detritus and can become a bit muddy and grimy\, especially when wet. A distance to suit everyone! \nThe idea of the day is to bring everyone together and to experience the fun of trail running in an amazing forest. Being around others doing what seems impossible can often make it seem a lot more possible too!! If you want to come and run your personal best or bimble about with your mates\, we’ve got the perfect distance for you. \nWe’ve got very generous cut-off times too\, to try and remove some of those barriers to new people trying out the sport. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere is it?\nSalcey Forest is a Forestry England site with a café and toilets near Northampton. This may seem an odd question to answer but given the majority of our events are 6 hour lapped events it’s one I’m sure people will have! \n  \nWhat are the timings for each event?\n\n\n\nEvent\nRegistration Open\nEvent Start\n\n\n50 km\n07:00\n08:00\n\n\nMarathon\n07:00\n08:30\n\n\nHalf Marathon\n08:00\n09:00\n\n\n10 km\n08:00\n09:00\n\n\n\n\nCan I have crew or pacers?\nYes and no. You can have crew\, they’re really helpful for longer events\, but you cannot have pacers. To be clear\, that means no-one can run with you or walk alongside you for any period of time except in the final 100m or so. \n\nAre there cut-offs?\nYes\, but they’re pretty generous! The cutoff for the event is 19:00. For the 50 km event\, this means an 11-hour cutoff\, or a 21-minute/mile pace. All other events have the same 19:00 cutoff – so that’s 10 hours to complete the 10k! \n\n\n\n\nI’ve heard you do cupless events?\nThat’s right! Discover how we host cupless events here. For clarity\, that means there are zero cups at the aid stations. If you want liquid\, you need to bring a cup! \n\nIs there a mandatory kit?\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is different for different distances and strictly enforced for each piece of mandatory kit missing 1 hour will be added to your finish time. For 10k entrants there is no mandatory kit although a cup/bottle for water is strongly recommended. There are NO CUPS at this event. If you don’t carry a cup you cannot drink water! \nHalf marathon/Marathon/50k entrants a cup/bottle capable of holding 200ml minimum is mandatory. It’ is strongly advised to carry a foil blanket and a charged mobile phone. \nThese are mandatory minimum’s if you want to carry more or extra kit then please do so\, this is to make you safe not to make you run to your best ability. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if I need to withdraw?\nIt happens. Injuries\, life events… forgetting you’ve booked it! You can see our specific withdrawal policy for the TrailFest events here. They are a little different to our other events but still much better than most other events companies. DESCRIPTION:Parallel Windsor is a Festival of Inclusivity with Challenge Events for all ages\, health conditions and abilities. Held in the grounds of the majestic Windsor Great Park. Choose from the: 100m\, 1km\, 5km\, 10km or our innovative SuperSensory. ‘Start together\, finish whenever!’ is our motto. Everyone who starts receives a medal\, t-shirt and goody bag. Assistance animals and mobility aids are welcome. Parallel Windsor is bursting with accessible family-friendly activities and entertainment. Expect to find: live music\, inclusive sport\, comedy\, dance\, accessible climbing wall\, cookery\, animal kingdom\, storytelling\, sensory sport\, food trucks and a picnic area. There is something for everyone. As a fully-accessible event\, we have: accessible toilets including RevoLoos\, onsite parking\, quiet and sensory areas\, medical support\, accessible shuttles to/from the stations\, plus a wonderful team of volunteers on-hand to help. \nFestival only tickets\, Challenge event tickets\, and Carer tickets are all available to purchase from our website: parallellifestyle.com
