SUMMARY:The World Airline Road Race - 5k & 10k
DESCRIPTION:The World Airline Road Race (WARR)\, a gathering of airline industry professionals from all corners of the world\, includes all levels and positions of the industry. Our goal is to provide a worldwide athletic event\, promote travel within the airline industry and foster friendships and co-ordination between airlines.  The highlights of this four-day event from October 5-8\, 2017\, are 5K and 10K run/walks for charity. All airline associates\, their family and friends are welcome. \nREGISTRATION FOR SINGAPORE IS NOW OPEN!\n  \nRace Fee for the 5K\, 10K or both is $50 if purchased in advance of July 1st.  After July 1st the rate will increase to $60.  If you wish to run both races\, the cost is just $50. \n  \nAwards Banquet is $60 \n  \nIf you are registered as an airline employee\, airline id will be required at registration\, no exceptions. Please ensure you register under the correct age\, airline or non-airline.  If it is found to be incorrect at time of results tabulation\, you will be removed from the award opportunities.  Please note that if you enter a incorrect age at time of registration\, you directly affect the race results.  Any individual who violates this rule will be removed from all race results. \n  \nFriends\, family and runners working outside of a specific airline (excluding retirees) please register as a Non-Airline Member. \n  \nRegistration Policy \n  \nEntry fees for the WARR events are non-refundable. \n  \nWARR reserves the right to refuse the entry into\, and/or revoke any registration for\, any race for any reason in its sole discretion with refund of any applicable registration fees being the sole remedy of any such refusal and/or revocation. \n  \nRegistrations may be transferred within the same race year\, to a different race distance by using the online registration system.  Just log back in to your registration to make the change for a small fee of $2. \n  \nRace bibs are not transferrable from one participant to another participant without updating the new details in the WARR registration system.  Please contact the Race Director\, Elan if you are transferring your registration.  All transfers must be complete prior to Sept 20th. \n  \nYou do not need to run in the race to attend WARR and Dinner Tickets Only are available for purchase. \n  \nTo register for WARR 2017 in Singapore please click here:  WARR 2017 LINK \n  \nPacket Pick-Up \n  \nPlease pick up your own participant packet\, which includes your event-issued bib number during scheduled hours on: \nOct 4 (times TBA) \nOct. 5 (times TBA) \nOct 6 (times TBA) \nLocation: Pan Pacific – Singapore \n  \nBib numbers will not be available for pick-up on race day\, \n  \nAfter you pick up your number you will be directed to tables that indicate the T-shirt sizes (Womens: XS – XXL; Men’s: XS – XXL).  Sizing pre ordered can not be altered at time of pick-up. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe run will take place October 7th \n  \nA second race will take place Oct 8th for the  \n70th Anniversary of Singapore Airlines \n  \n10K – 0600 start    (must be finished in 1hr 20 min. at which time the 5K will start) \n\n\n 5K – 0730 start \n\n\n\nThe race site is a short walk from the Host Hotel.  There will be no secure bag drop at the race course\, please leave valuables at the hotel. \n\n\n\nDo not fold your race bid as it will damage the chip.  Please ensure bid is on front of shirt.  5K runners ensure you do not set off your race bib chip by standing to close to the start of the race when cheering on the 10K runners. \n  \n\n\nTime Limits \nTo ensure that roads reopen to vehicular traffic at the scheduled times\, course time limits will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. Participants must maintain a pace faster than the course time limits in order to complete the race on closed city streets. Cut-off locations will be enforced on the course; runners or walkers who do not reach the cut-off location by the communicated time will be advanced forward on the course\, or shuttled to the finish line area. Please note – cut-off times are calculated based on participants’ timing tag time\, not starting gun time. Course time limits begin when the last participant and Tail Vehicle cross the start line. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe race staff would like to thank you in advance for considering these etiquette tips as you enjoy the run!  Please pay attention to pre-race instructions – both print and verbal. What you read and hear will not only help guide you through the course but will also keep you safe. \n  \n\n\n\n\nRun or walk no more than two abreast. Other runners will want to get by you. \n  \nIf you are stopping at a water station\, move all the way over to the table. Grab water and move away from the table so that others may get water\, too. \n  \nMove to the side if someone behind you says\, “Excuse Me” or “Coming Through”. \n  \nWhen you are approaching the finish line\, you may see loved ones cheering you on. Please do not encourage anyone to join you in the finish line stretch. Your support team is very important\, but please communicate that the race course and finish area is for registered participants and staff only. \n  \n\n\n\nRace Bibs\nEach runner will be issued a race bib at Race Packet Pick-Up. Please wear your assigned race bib centered on the front of your outermost garment. It is your responsibility to wear the bib number during the race. \n  \nPlease confirm that your bib is:\nClearly visible on the front of the torso\nUnaltered and unmodified (do not fold or wrinkle)\nPinned in all four corners\nNot covered with shirts\, jackets\, etc. \n  \nHave a great race!

Terms and conditions may be subject to change at short notice. \nIn any dispute the Race Director’s decision will be final and binding on all parties. \nJungle Marathon Ltd reserves the right to alter or modify any aspect of the Jungle Marathon race itinerary at short notice in response to unforeseen circumstances in order to ensure the safety and security of all participants. \nAge\nAll competitors must be at the age 18 years or over. \nEntries\nOpen to men and women\, individuals and teams. \nTeam Entries\nAll teams must have at least three members. \nTo qualify for a ranking all team members must complete the race or stage. \nIndividual team members will also receive individual overall rankings. Team times will be calculated as the average of the combined time of the team’s members. \nRace Stages\nThere will be either one marathon stage of 42km\, or 4 stages over 4 days (for +-127 km runners) or 6 stages over 7 days (+-242 km runners) varying in distance from approximately 16 km to 108 km (see Race Stages). \nEach stage will have a maximum time for completion. \nAny runner failing to arrive within the allocated stage time may be eliminated from the race. This decision is taken by the Race Director and depends on the reasons for not finishing in time\, the stage and the physical and psychological condition of the athlete. \nCheckpoints \nThese will be located every 5-10 km on regular stages\, i.e. on the long stage the checkpoints may be further apart. \nCompetitors must pass through all the checkpoints on each stage. \nAt each checkpoint water will be distributed and must be emptied into personal water bottles (or similar). \nIn no circumstances must any competitor leave the checkpoint with the plastic bottles provided by the race organisers. \nEach checkpoint will also provide the opportunity to seek medical assistance if needed. \nRunners in the marathon distance are entitled to send a drop bag to the checkpoints with snacks and energy drinks \nFailure to pass a checkpoint will result in elimination from the race or a significant time penalties. \nIt is imperative that all competitors leave the checkpoint with their full water capacity. \nFinishing a Stage \nAt the finish line of each stage water will be available. \nAfter putting up your hammock and settling in you will be given the opportunity to seek medical attention if needed. \nE-mails to competitors will be distributed each evening. \nOn completion of a stage each competitor and team will be timed in and ranked. \nHot water will be available at all campsites for food preparation \nMandatory Equipment\nHammocks with mosquito nets and rainfly sheet\nPre-race food from arrival in Brazil\nFood supplies to last for 4 or 7 days racing (depending on distance entered). The same transfer cut-off of October 10th applies. \nMany distances – one great day\nThe 2017 Leicester Marathon actually comprises of several running events. This means that everybody can get involved in this great annual event that takes you running into the heart of our great city and into the surrounding countryside. \nThe events are\nThe Leicester Marathon – distance 26.2 miles.\nThe Leicester Half Marathon – distance 13.1 miles.\nCummins Relay Challenge – full marathon and half marathon routes. \nThe Leicester Marathon – distance 26.2 miles\nThe marathon distance is regarded by many as the ultimate challenge. Every great city around the world has its own iconic marathon – including London\, Berlin\, Paris\, New York and Boston. Well the Leicester Marathon is in our view\, an equally great event. With is downhill start into the busy city centre (roads closed for the duration) and out into the beautiful surrounding countryside\, we know you will love the Leicester marathon experience. That’s why people come back year after year. \nThe Leicester Half Marathon – distance 13.1 miles\nThere is a big difference between a 10k and a full marathon. That’s probably why the half marathon distance has become such a popular distance for runners. In fact in Leicester\, the half marathon is a really popular event attracting a large number of runners – far more that the full marathon. For some\, the half marathon is a stepping stone to a longer distance or a training event to a future marathon. For many\, it is a distance that is enough of a challenge in itself and one that can be revisited and refined over the years. \nCummins Relay Challenge\nWe’re delighted that Cummins Solicitors are sponsoring this event for the fifth time. The relay race has become a huge part of the successful Leicester Marathon. \nThis year for the first time there are two relay challenges. \nChallenge 1: Your team of 4 run around the Half Marathon route\, completing approximately 3.25 miles each.\nChallenge 2: Your team of 4 run around the Full Marathon route\, completing approximately 6.5 miles each. \nWith the relay event\, it’s all about raising money for LOROS hospice which\, as many of you will know\, is an extremely important and worthy Leicestershire charity. Last year\, we had 60 teams enter. Between them\, they managed to raise over £10k for LOROS. \nLet’s raise even more for LOROS in 2017.\nThis year we want to smash that £10k and with a huge amount of interest so far\, once again we are confident that with your help we can get there!\nWe’d love you to enter a team because every penny of your entry fee\, and any money you raise in sponsorship\, goes to LOROS. To boot\, you get to have a great team event\, some fun (honest!) and (hopefully) to get fit in the process – what could be more of an incentive? \nYour team of four will start and finish at Victoria Park\, where you’ll be able to enjoy well-earned hospitality after the event – laid on especially for our relay teams. \nThe entry fee is £100 per team. Your support of this fantastic\, local charity will be greatly appreciated. \nDon’t want to run?\nNot everybody can run or wants to run! But you can still get involved in one of Leicester’s great annual sporting events.\nVolunteer – there are lots of places around the course where you can volunteer. SUMMARY:The Abingdon Marathon 2017
DESCRIPTION:Abingdon Marathon 2017\n  \nPhoto: Oxford Mail \nhttp://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/13877062.Jessica_Bruce_from_Risinghurst_hopes_to_be_crowned_new_world_record_holder_after_running_Abingdon_Marathon_with_a_pram/ \n  \nThe Abingdon Marathon was first held in 1982 and 2017 will mark the race’s 36th year since its inception. This will be the 35th running of the race – unfortunately the 2007 event had to be abandoned. \nThe marathon entry has grown over the years but has an entry limit of again 1\,200 this year. We expect this number to be reached by the beginning of April\, well before the closing date\, so make sure you enter early to avoid disappointment. \n \nThe 2017 Abingdon Marathon will again incorporate a number of championship events: Oxfordshire County Marathon Championships\, Berkshire County Marathon Championships\, Middlesex County Marathon Championships and Army AA Marathon Championships. In addition\, the event also hosts the Twin Towns competition. We always extend a big welcome to our friends from overseas\, especially from Argentan\, France\, Abingdon’s twin town. \nThe Abingdon Marathon course passes through the centre of the Milton Park business estate. \nThe race is organised by a committee of volunteers from clubs across Oxfordshire. The organisation of a marathon is a considerable job\, and this year the Committee is grateful to the support from Abingdon AC\, Alchester AC\, Headington Road Runners\, White Horse Harriers AC and Witney Road Runners. Without this support and the assistance of a number of other local clubs and voluntary organisations the race would not take place. \nThe event is a BARR graded Gold event. In addition to putting on a first class event for the competitors\, the organisers aim to support a number of local charities and the main beneficiaries over recent years have included Against Breast Cancer\, SeeSaw\, The Archway Foundation and Abingdon Lions Club. \nWhether you are taking part as a runner\, supporting your family or friends as they run the race\, or just enjoying the spectacle and the enthusiasm of the day we hope it will be a day to remember. \nMarathon Route\nThe route is predominantly flat\, allowing the chance for good race times. It is a two lap course running through the town\, through several villages and following part of the River Thames. A recent poll by Runners World readers the rated the Abingdon Marathon as their favourite race in the country for achieving a PB. The race starts and finishes at the Tilsley Park athletics track. \nMarathon Entry\n* Unaffiliated Runners : £42\n* UK Athletics Affiliated Runners : £40\n* Registration Deadline : 22 September \nThe race categories for this event are as follows: \nMen\nSenior Men (aged 18–39 )\nVeteran 40 Men (aged 40–49)\nVeteran 50 Men (aged 50–59)\nVeteran 60 Men (aged 60–69)\nVeteran 70+ Men (aged 70 upwards) \nWomen\nSenior Women (aged 18–34)\nVeteran 35 Women (aged 35–44)\nVeteran 45 Women (aged 45–54)\nVeteran 55 Women (aged 55–64)\nVeteran 65+ Women (aged 65 upwards)

SUMMARY:Berenloop Terschelling Marathon & Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Berenloop Terschelling Marathon\nThe Berenloop has over the years become one of the largest athletics events in Northern Netherlands. This is not only due to the beautiful trail\, which runs through the beautiful and varied nature of Terschelling\, but also because of the fantastic atmosphere that is on the island during the Berenloop weekend. \nAlmost everyone at Terschelling is involved in the Berenloop: as a participant\, as a volunteer or as a spectator\, you notice that. Perhaps this is the reason\, despite the challenging course\, again excellent times are happening every year. \nIn 2017\, the Beer Race is on its 21st edition. The first edition took place on October 26\, 1997\, as a sporting end of the theme year ‘400 years Willem Barentsz’. Willem Barentsz\, famous seafarer and from Terschelling\, tried to sail to Asia in 1596 via the north. \nIt became a monster ride with a lot of hardships and a forced wintering between the icebergs on Nova Zembla. By hunting for bears\, the crew had enough food to survive winter\, and thus the marathon came to her name: the Berenloop. \nArrangements\nParticipating in the Berenloop is ideally suited for a longer stay at Terschelling. For information about the many accommodation and arrangements\, please contact the Terschelling Tourist Office . \nBoats\nBook your boat on time for both the return journey and http://www.rederijdoeksen.nl . This also applies when you only go back and forth on Saturday 4 or Sunday 5 November. During the Berenloopweekend the regular timetable will be extended with a number of additional boats. \nBus transport\nIn addition to the regular schedule\, several extra buses are available during the Berenloopweekend. More information about the bus services on the island: http://www.bus-terschelling.nl After the Berenloop\, there are free shuttle buses from the finish to the swimming pool and to Hotel Schylge. \nCategories\nAt 21 and 42 kilometers\, the age ranges are: \nAge categories:\nMen: Seniors-M40-M50-M60\nWomen: Seniors-V35-V45-V55 \nTimetables\nDuring and around the Berenloop weekend there are several extra boats. More information can be found at http://www.rederijdoeksen.nl. \nOwn drinks\nYou can dispatch your own drinks by 11.40 am in the first aid kit immediately after the start / finish (for the whole marathon). These are then transported to the various care centers. On the way you will find your own drinks at the end of each care post. \nOwn risk and responsibility\nEach participant is at your own risk and for your own responsibility. The organization accepts no liability whatsoever for the participants. Insurance is a matter of the participants themselves. In case of unexpected cancellation\, no refund of the entry fee will be made. On the Bears Race\, the General Terms and Conditions of the SET (Terschelling Foundation Events) apply. \nCyclists and supporters\nIn view of the hassle of the trail\, we ask you to make the least use of guidance by a cyclist. Obviously\, accompanying cyclists should never interfere with other runners or ride a bike. They must also adhere strictly to the clues of police\, contestants\, traffic controllers and other volunteers. If they do not\, the organization is obliged to remove the course and there is a chance that no cyclists will be allowed next year. \nCertain sections of the trail\, such as the beach\, are not accessible to accompanying cyclists. This also applies to the last part of the trail in the village (from De Stilen nursing home). \nNOTE: At the 2-kilometer point cyclists and runners cross each other. This is solved by zipping. Take a good look at the signs and follow the directions of the traffic controllers! The runners have priority at all times. \nSupporters are not allowed to walk the final piece over the finish. The red runner is only for the finishers! \nFinish\nFor all distances\, the finish is under the brandaris. At 17.40 the finish will be closed. \nReminder\nAll finishers on the whole and the half marathon will receive a medal and a functional Saucony running shirt afterwards. Participants in Small Berenloop receive an appropriate reminder afterwards. \nDogs\nIt is not allowed to go with a dog to the berry or small berth. \nTools\nThe Berenloop is\, like the Little Bear Run\, a running event. It is therefore not allowed to participate in tools such as handbikes\, running cars / baby joggers\, steps\, autopeds etc. \nInformation\nSee under “Competition Secretariat” \nSubscription\nThe registration for the Berenloop\, Youth run and Kleintje Berenloop is open. The limits have now been reached for the 5\, 10 and 21\,1 km. \nYouth run\nPrior to the Berenloop there is a youth run for the youth from 6 to 15 years. Participation costs are 6 euros. It starts on Sunday morning from 09:45 am under the brandaris. For more information see youth race. \nClothing delivery\nYou can spend your valuable items and clothes at the Nature and Landscape Center (Natuurmuseum) on the Burgemeester Reedekerstraat 11. From the Brandaris you will arrive via the Boomstraat\, then at the WigWam left the Burg. Reedekerstraat in. Upon display of your starting number\, you will receive this return. \nDressing Rooms\nSports bags and so on can be left at your own risk. Valuable items can be delivered in a tent under the brandaris. \nAfter the Berenloop there are free shuttle buses from the finish to the swimming pool and to Hotel Schylge. \nLittle Bears Walk\nOn Saturday 4 November\, Kleintje Berenloop is organized for the fifth time . Kleintje Berenloop has no longer served as a ‘warm-up’ for the Berenloop on Sunday\, but is a cozy and low-threshold competition for the shorter work of 5 and 10 km. Water will be available at each check. Be reminded\, though\, that it may take more than an hour to get from one water stop to the next\, so all participants must carry a drink throughout (see Mandatory Kit). SUMMARY:The Antarctic Ice Marathon & Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Antarctic Ice Marathon & Half Marathon\nAdventure marathoners and ultra athletes are always looking for the next big challenge. It could be a remote desert marathon\, a high altitude mountain marathon or a jungle marathon. However\, mainland Antarctica represents the last frontier\, the final great wilderness to be conquered. And now adventure athletes like you can do it. \nOn 24th November 2017 the thirteenth Antarctic Ice Marathon ® races\, respectively\, will take place at 80 Degrees South\, just a few hundred miles from the South Pole at the foot of the Ellsworth Mountains. \nThis race presents a truly formidable and genuine Antarctic challenge with underfoot conditions comprising snow and ice throughout\, an average windchill temperature of -20C\, and the possibility of strong Katabatic winds to contend with. Furthermore\, the event takes place at an altitude of 700 metres. \nThe Antarctic Ice Marathon is the only marathon run in the interior of the Antarctic and is organised by Global Running Adventures\, the organisers of the annual North Pole Marathon ®\, Volcano Marathon ® and World Marathon Challenge ®. \nThe four-day 2017 itinerary will see competitors fly by private jet from Punta Arenas\, Chile\, on 23 November to the marathon location at Union Glacier\, Antarctica. A marked course of 42.2km (26.2 miles) will have been prepared in advance and snowmobile support\, aid stations and medical personnel will be at hand for the duration of the race. Competitors are scheduled to return to Punta Arenas on 26 November. \nThe Antarctic Ice Marathon is the southernmost marathon on earth and a unique opportunity to complete a marathon that is truly worthy of the seventh continent. You can join the exclusive 7 Continents Marathon Club by combining this race with marathons on each of the other six continents. Don’t expect to run your quickest time\, however\, as winds can blow from the Pole at a steady 10-25 knots. Also\, forget about penguins or crowds cheering you along the route – no penguins live this far south and you will have to rely upon yourself to push onward in the hushed\, indomitable surroundings. \nFor those who prefer a half-marathon option\, the Frozen Continent Half-Marathon will also be run on the day of the Marathon race. This half-marathon is your opportunity to cover 21km (13.1 miles) on the ‘white continent’ and finish the southernmost half marathon on the planet.

Each team member will run a section of the marathon\, passing the team sash to their next teammate at each of the five Ekiden points. \nHalf Marathon (21.1km)\n3 December 4.30AM – Orchard Road – The half marathon has a wider appeal than its Marathon older brother\, and is viewed as a more achievable feat by non-elite or serious runners. \nThe 21.1km still requires a serious level of training\, however\, and brings with it its own set of challenges. Many runners use the half marathon as a stepping stone towards the marathon but it’s a very testing run in its own right. Some of the world’s best long distance runners focus their careers on the half and are able to set some incredible average speeds in this category. The half is a perfect run for those looking to step up from the 10km and test the long distance discipline. \n10 KM / 10 KM Wheelchair\n3 December 7.15AM – Esplanade Bridge – The 10km is a category for runners of all abilities. The distance is perfect for beginners\, though once again it also requires a decent training commitment for those new to the sport. \nThe more serious runners view this category as almost a ‘sprint’\, with some incredible 10km times having been posted over the years. \nThis race category is also available for wheelchair bound participants to participate in with sports wheelchairs. \nKids Dash\n2 December 6PM – Orchard Road – As the name suggests\, the Kids Dash is a fun event for young runners aged up to 13. The race is designed to encourage kids to participate in a running event and take up the sport while they are young. Kids are encouraged to come out\, have fun\, and experience the festivities and be part of this momentous occasion. \nIt is non-competitive\, hence participants of this category will not be issued with timing chips. It is compulsory for a parent/guardian to accompany any child 6 years and below for safety purposes. Only one parent/guardian issued with an identification tag will be allowed to accompany any child 6 years & below. \nAnd for the third time\, The Kids Dash will be held as a standalone event on Saturday 2 December\, making it another weekend-long running fiesta on the first weekend of December.

The course is completely flat. \nSchedule\nSaturday\, December 9\, 2017 @ Turtle Inn\n3 pm – 6 pm: Registration and Packet pick up\n6 pm: Pasta dinner ($15 BZ for Belizeans and $15 US for non Belizeans – can be paid for at packet pickup) \nSunday\, December 10\, 2017 @ Placencia Village\n5:30 am: Marathon start\n5:30 am: Half-marathon start (13.1 miles north of marathon start)\n9:30 am: 2 mile fun run\n11:30 am: Awards\nNoon: Post-race party\n1 pm – midnight: Marathon Beach Party at Tipsy Tuna \nThe registration deadline is October 16\, 2017. Runners who pay their fees after this date may participate in the event\, but will not be guaranteed an official race T-shirt and finisher medal.
