SUMMARY:Lisbon Eco Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Lisbon Eco Marathon is the only Marathon with its entire course within the city of Lisbon.\nIt positions the Portuguese capital in the calendar of this type of renown races around the world. \nEcology\, Competition and Social Solidarity are the main assumptions of this event. \nIn addition to the “mythical” distance of 42\,195 km\, you may choose running two additional distances\, the Half Marathon and a 12 km race\, thus opening the challenge to all kind of athletes. \nConviviality and good disposition are our main slogans. \nMost of the course is held in the “lungs of the city” – Parque Florestal de Monsanto (Monsanto Forest Park)\, in a way that minimizes the annoyances for the resident population\, due to the reduced need for roadblocks\, and at the same time makes it an event with one of the most iconic courses for the practitioners of this sport. \nIn order to make this event a unique experience\, we gathered the practice of this sport in a party atmosphere in the center of the city. \nThe start line coincides with the departure and arrival of the three distances\, to welcome athletes and their families in a comfortable and fun way. \nAnd it takes place in an iconic boulevard of our charming city – the top of Parque Eduardo VII\, next to the National flag\, which has a privileged view of Lisbon’s main arteries\, river and castle.

Whether you’re chasing those PBs or having a crack at your first marathon\, join thousands of runners in this lively seaside event. \nFrequently asked Questions: \nCan I wear headphones at the Brighton Marathon?\nWhilst you can listen to music\, you are advised not to. It’s important that participants can hear what’s happening during the race. \nCan I defer my place at the Brighton Marathon?\nYes\, you can defer your entry to the following year if you can’t take part due to illness\, injury or other unforeseen circumstances. \nWhere can I find results for the Brighton Marathon?\nYou can find finisher photos and results on the Brighton Marathon Weekend website after the race. https://www.brightonmarathonweekend.co.uk \nDoes any of the entrant fee for the Brighton Marathon go to charity?\nNo\, the entrant fee goes towards the cost of putting on the event. However the event works closely with local\, national and international charities in helping them to raise millions of pounds for their causes. Each year\, around 300 charities benefitted from an association with the event. \nWhat is the minimum age for Marathon and 10k Participants\nThe minimum age for marathon participants is 18 on race day\, and participants for the BM10k must be 17 on race day. \nHow can I change my race time for the Brighton Marathon?\nYou can change your estimated finish time by accessing your account via: https://raceroster.com. Once logged in\, please select the drop down in the top right corner\, and then ‘Participant Dashboard’\, from here you can update your details. \nNew start time: For the thousands of participants who travel to the start on Race Day from outside of the city\, the start time of 9:45am will increase public transport options and offer a more convenient timeframe in which to arrive ready and prepared to run. \nHotels: Although Brighton has an abundance of B&Bs and hotels\, they fill up quickly around the marathon weekend so we’d recommend that you book in nice and early! \nParking and public transport: We will be providing a Park and Ride service to get runners and their spectators around\, but again\, this will likely sell out so book in advance. \nNB. No refunds will be given for bus tickets in case you decide not to run or take the bus. \nWe strongly advise against travelling into the city centre on the morning of the event as there will be road closures in place and parking restrictions. We thoroughly recommend using the Park & Ride service\, to avoid any potential issues with getting to the start on time. \nTrain: Please be sure to check the National Rail website when booking your tickets and closer to the event for any potential service alterations that may affect your journey. \nOn arriving at Brighton station\, the seafront and city centre are just a tenminute walk away. There is also a taxi rank and bus service immediately outside the station forecourt but please note that there will be road closures in place on Race Day. \nBus or Coach: Bus services run across the city\, also connecting with many local towns and villages. Please check the Brighton & Hove Bus Company website for the most up to date travel information and full timetables. London Heathrow is about 2 hours away by train or coach. Visit National Express for details of coaches that run from these airports to Brighton\, and for drop off points in the city. \nBM Ride – Park & Ride \nBM Ride participants are advised to use the Mill Road Park & Ride site\, which is within a short cycle of the Velo Village. DESCRIPTION:What: \nThis is a team event. A team consists of three people only. You must enter your team into one of two disciplines. These are; \n– On Foot (running/walking)\n– Cycling \nYour team cannot mix disciplines (ie if you enter your team ‘On Foot’\, none of your team can cycle and vice versa). \nYou and your team must then see how many kilometers you can clock up between dawn and dusk. For the purposes of making this inclusive to all those around the world\, the start and finish times are set at 06:00 (6am) and 18:00 (6pm)\, wherever you are taking on the challenge. You have 12 hours to go as far as you can. Your total distance will be the sum of the distance covered by all three of your team members. \nExample: \nStefan\, Mary and Jan cover 22km\, 45km and 92km on foot. Their total distance and the one submitted to Ultra X will be 159km. \nWhen: \n #Dawn2Dusk will take place on Saturday 13th March 2021. \nAs this is a truly global challenge we want to ensure that as many people around the planet can take part. The challenge is from dawn to dusk! SUMMARY:Solway Coast Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The route starts and finishes at The White Heather Hotel. This course is best described as one of the flattest marathon courses in the UK and is a must for anyone looking for a PB. The roads are quiet country roads and very flat. The course takes you on a 5 mile loop through Kirkbride\, Newton Arlosh and back past the start where family and friends will be able to cheer you on and give the encouragement for 21 miles to come. SUMMARY:Brixen Dolomiten Marathon
DESCRIPTION:140 Athletes from already 14 different countries have so far written to each other for the Brixen Dolomites Marathon. Among them for the first time are athletes from Russia\, Hong Kong and South Africa. “After the anniversary edition\, we assumed that the number of participants could perhaps decline a little. However\, the opposite is the case\, because we are at exactly the same level as last year. What makes us particularly happy is of course the fact that we attract mountain runners from countries from which no participants have yet come to Brixen. This internationalization is essential for Brixen as a tourist destination\,” says OK boss Christian Jocher. \nThe mountain marathon takes you from the cathedral square in the centre of Brixen (560m) to the Plose\, the local mountain of Brixen at 2.450m. The route goes from forest and meadow trails\, in sections on asphalt roads\, to St. Andrä (1.062m). At the valley station of the cable car Plose takes place the first change of the relay 4×4. Now it goes on hiking and forest trails to Afers (1.504m)\, here is the second change area of the relay 4×4 and the unique one of the relay 2×2. \nAccompanied by a exclusive scenery of the Peitler mountain and the Dolomites in the background\, the route takes you in sections on asphalt roads and forest trails via Rossalm to Kreuztal (2.050 m)\, the 3rd change area for the relay runners 4×4. On the hiking trail to the Ochsenalm you can enjoy the wonderful view down the valley before the last 3\,2 km and 400 m of altitude gain await you. \nThe spectacular mountain scenery\, a 360° panoramic view at the finish make you forget all your efforts of the marathon. A double challenge: the 2.450 meters of altitude between Brixen and the Plose – simply “running to the limits”. \n \nStart: Brixen Cathedral Square (560 m) \nFinish: Plose (2.450 m)\nLength: 42\,195 km\nHeight difference: 2.450 m\nTime limit: 8 hours\nIMPORTANT: All foreign runners participating in Brixen Dolomites Marathon need to have a medical certificate filled in\, and send it to -> info@brixenmarathon.it prior to the event and before the 30.06.2019 in order to run this race. DESCRIPTION:IMS are\, once more\, taking on the Nohtaram\, running the London Marathon in reverse the night before the race\, and we want you to be a part of it. \nYou can join us for the whole thing\, the second half or cheering on at the main event. \nBEFORE:\nWe will be meeting at 1:45am next to Nelson’s Column on Trafalgar Square to walk to the start on The Mall and set off at 2am. \nDURING:\nIn true Impact Marathon style\, we will be running together as a big group with plenty of chatting and laughing the whole way.\nKit – whatever you are comfortable in. We want to run self-sufficient so if you have a backpack you run in for water and food then bring it along. \nHALFWAY POINT – TOWER BRIDGE: \nIf you want to join us at half way for the second 13.1 miles to the finish we will be at Tower Bridge at 4:45am. Let us know if you are going to meet us there and we can exchange numbers on whatsapp. \nAFTER:\nWe will be heading to Bill’s in Greenwich for a big breakfast and heaps of coffee before heading back out to support and cheer everyone on the course. This is being phased in over a 2-3 year period\, to enable the association to become fully experienced and compliant in a safe and secure manner.\nThe risk assessment has identified four broad categories of AWD participants\, namely Ambulant\, Push Rim Wheel Chair\, Hand Cycle and Duo Teams.\nIn 2019 Ambulatory AWD wanting to run either solo or with authorised Guide were invited to enter the 2019 Boston Marathon or Half Marathon.\nIn 2020 both Ambulatory and Push-Rim Wheelchair AWD are invited. In future years the categories will be expanded to include\, Hand-cycle\, and Duo Teams.\nThere may be a separate start for Push-rim Wheel Chair users (both Full and Half distances).\nAWD Participation Categories\n\nAmbulatory AWD: Proposed for 2019 events.\n\nTo be accepted for entry\, applicants must be able to propel themselves through the entire course. They may be authorised to be accompanied by a Human Guide\, whose role is to provide orientation and navigation support to a blind or visually impaired athlete\, or other ambulatory athlete with a disability who requires additional support\, on the event course. Guides are not scored and will not receive an official finishing time. There is no entry fee for a Guide.\n\nPush-rim Wheelchairs AWD: Proposed for 2020 events.\n\nA push-rim wheelchair is a racing wheelchair and is the only type of wheelchair permitted on the Boston Marathon course. For safety reasons\, athletes may not participate using a day chair or other non-racing wheelchair.\nTo be accepted for entry\, applicants planning to use a push-rim wheelchair must be able to propel themselves through the entire course. An Official Guide is permitted to accompany an AWD participant on the course\, but the guide may not push or pull the AWD participant.\nPlease note: All wheelchair entrants must wear helmets at all times while on the course. Athletes not wearing helmets will NOT be allowed to start the race and are subject to removal from the course.\nHand-cycle and Duo Teams. The definitions and specification to be drawn up following 2020 events\nGuide Selection\n\nAny AWD who requires a Guide to participate in 2020Boston (UK) Marathon event is permitted to run with one (1) Guide.\nIt is the athlete’s responsibility to select a Guide who can perform all Guide responsibilities at the athlete’s goal pace.\nIt is strongly recommended that an athlete selects a Guide with whom he/she regularly trains.\nIn limited situations\, an athlete may be permitted to register two (2) Guides\, who run in relay fashion\, where the athlete is accompanied by one (1) Guide at a time on the event course.
