DESCRIPTION:What: \nThis is a team event. A team consists of three people only. You must enter your team into one of two disciplines. These are; \n– On Foot (running/walking)\n– Cycling \nYour team cannot mix disciplines (ie if you enter your team ‘On Foot’\, none of your team can cycle and vice versa). \nYou and your team must then see how many kilometers you can clock up between dawn and dusk. For the purposes of making this inclusive to all those around the world\, the start and finish times are set at 06:00 (6am) and 18:00 (6pm)\, wherever you are taking on the challenge. You have 12 hours to go as far as you can. Your total distance will be the sum of the distance covered by all three of your team members. \nExample: \nStefan\, Mary and Jan cover 22km\, 45km and 92km on foot. Their total distance and the one submitted to Ultra X will be 159km. \nWhen: \n #Dawn2Dusk will take place on Saturday 13th March 2021. \nAs this is a truly global challenge we want to ensure that as many people around the planet can take part. The challenge is from dawn to dusk! Once logged in\, please select the drop down in the top right corner\, and then ‘Participant Dashboard’\, from here you can update your details. \nNew start time: For the thousands of participants who travel to the start on Race Day from outside of the city\, the start time of 9:45am will increase public transport options and offer a more convenient timeframe in which to arrive ready and prepared to run. \nHotels: Although Brighton has an abundance of B&Bs and hotels\, they fill up quickly around the marathon weekend so we’d recommend that you book in nice and early! \nParking and public transport: We will be providing a Park and Ride service to get runners and their spectators around\, but again\, this will likely sell out so book in advance. \nNB. No refunds will be given for bus tickets in case you decide not to run or take the bus. \nWe strongly advise against travelling into the city centre on the morning of the event as there will be road closures in place and parking restrictions. We thoroughly recommend using the Park & Ride service\, to avoid any potential issues with getting to the start on time. \nTrain: Please be sure to check the National Rail website when booking your tickets and closer to the event for any potential service alterations that may affect your journey. \nOn arriving at Brighton station\, the seafront and city centre are just a tenminute walk away. DESCRIPTION:Lisbon Eco Marathon is the only Marathon with its entire course within the city of Lisbon.\nIt positions the Portuguese capital in the calendar of this type of renown races around the world. \nEcology\, Competition and Social Solidarity are the main assumptions of this event. \nIn addition to the “mythical” distance of 42\,195 km\, you may choose running two additional distances\, the Half Marathon and a 12 km race\, thus opening the challenge to all kind of athletes. \nConviviality and good disposition are our main slogans. \nMost of the course is held in the “lungs of the city” – Parque Florestal de Monsanto (Monsanto Forest Park)\, in a way that minimizes the annoyances for the resident population\, due to the reduced need for roadblocks\, and at the same time makes it an event with one of the most iconic courses for the practitioners of this sport. \nIn order to make this event a unique experience\, we gathered the practice of this sport in a party atmosphere in the center of the city. \nThe start line coincides with the departure and arrival of the three distances\, to welcome athletes and their families in a comfortable and fun way. \nAnd it takes place in an iconic boulevard of our charming city – the top of Parque Eduardo VII\, next to the National flag\, which has a privileged view of Lisbon’s main arteries\, river and castle.

Our aim is to allow access to the outdoors in a relatively controlled and safe environment. \nTogether we have a combined experience of over 60 years in the outdoor industry\, from managing an outdoor company in Scotland\, to owning one in New Zealand. We have extensive event management experience and have worked the white waters of Venezuela\, Colorado\, New Zealand\, Scotland and lead multi-pitch rock climbing & ice climbing. This is a prime opportunity to hunt down a PB if you’re after one. \nParticipants will head off down Picadilly\, before looping north up Regents Street. Through Pall Mall\, you’ll run past St James’s Palace\, then heading east Towards Trafalgar Square. A beautiful stretch along the river at Embankment culminates at Westminster Bridge\, and you’ll finish off the race down Whitehall\, after looping around Parliament Square. \nAs you race along the course there will be a variety of music every 450m ranging from reggae/funk to disco.

This race happens in Summer which is an amazing time to race in the UK. \nUltra X Wales takes place in and around southern Snowdonia in western Wales. Snowdonia National Park was established in 1951 as the third national park in Britain and it contains the highest peaks in the United Kingdom outside of Scotland. \nThis unique and challenging course takes participants from the northern Cambrian mountains to southern Snowdonia\, following a number of famous trails – including the Glyndwr’s Way National Trail\, the Wales Coastal Path\, the Minffordd Path and the Cross Britain Path – as it weaves its way over the stunning lakes and mountains for which southern Snowdonia is famous\, including the Cadair Idris\, Rhinogydd and Aran Fawddwy ranges.

All the races will occur in the dark\, creating a wonderful and unique experience for all competitors. The courses will all be well marked with poles\, arrows and flashing lights. \nKids 1k and 2k \nBoth races will take part exclusively within the grounds of Bicton College. \n5k \nThe 5k route is new for 2022\, and although 3k of this race will take place on the tarmac\, it is on tranquil country lanes where there will be little to no traffic. With a hog-roast\, wine at drinks stations\, and stunning routes along the way\, this is so much more than just a race. Enjoy live music\, great food\, and a fantastic atmosphere at the Surrey Bacchus Marathon. \nRoute description\nThis undulating\, multi-terrain course takes place within and around the stunning Denbies Wine Estate. All routes offer beautiful views over the Mole Valley\, Ranmore Common and the North Downs\, and runners are welcome to run as quickly as possible or take their time and enjoy the wine sampling stations on the route. \nThe drinks stations are what separates this event from all the others. Not just any old drinks stations\, the last 2 along the route serve wine and food and soft drinks\, and with marathon runners completing 2 laps\, that means double the wine. After a very strange\, Covid safe\, small scale 2020 race we hope to be back in 2021 with the buzz and full magnitude of previous years. \nThe fantastic Bradley’s Estate Agents will continue to sponsor the race and be a fantastic supporter with many of their staff either taking part or assisting with the on the day running of the event. \nRoute information \nThe 10km race will start on the beautiful Exmouth Seafront. \nRunners will head up to Orcombe point before looping round the flag pole and head back along the full length of the beachfront\, another turning point will be made to bring runners back around to start their second lap. The finish line sees you splitting at the Octogen Ice-cream shop to hug the beachfront railings to the finish line. \nBreath in and enjoy the sea air as you go. Spectators will line the seafront to support and cheer you on creating an absolutely fantastic atmosphere. \nThe race will be fully marked with fluorescent arrows and well marshalled. \nCourse Detail: \nThis race will run solely on hard surfaced footpaths. DESCRIPTION:Ultra X Jordan (previously the Wadi Rum Ultra) takes place in the land of Lawrence of Arabia. The mystical desert course takes competitors past historic sites\, into dramatic wadis and over magnificent sand dunes. \nWadi Rum’s nickname is “The Valley of the Moon” and participants will quickly see why. Its landscape\, characterised by unique towering rock formations\, is truly mind-blowing\, as is the challenge. As locations go\, this place is unrivalled in its beauty. \nWe are dreaming of the desert! \nDid you know that Ultra X Jordan was our first event? From 2016 to 2018 it was called the Wadi Rum Ultra. In 2017\, Sam and Jamie (the co-founders) met\, Sam was running and Jamie was the Race Director! The two got on and the rest is history! \nHere is why we think you should be joining us this October: \n1) The Course \nOur race course\, which changes slightly each year will take participants on a grand tour of Wadi Rum’s protected region. You’ll pass through canyons\, dried up riverbeds and occasionally over big sand dunes. \n2) The History \nThe desert is steeped in history. Wadi Rum may be best known for its connection with British Army officer T. E. Lawrence aka Lawrence of Arabia\, who passed through several times during the Arab Revolt of 1917–18. \nIf Wadi Rum isn’t enough for you\, the opportunity to visit the Lost City of Petra on the Saturday after the race certainly will be. \nPetra will take your breath away. The area is thought to have been inhabited from as early as 7000 BC and was once a major regional trading hub used by the Nabataean people. For the film buffs among you\, it’s fame was amplified in Indiana Jones\, The Last Crusade \n  \n\n\n\n\nMEDAL RIBBONS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll finishers will receive a race medal. The 66811 ha of mountainous terrain is located in the Cape Floral Region only three hours outside Cape Town\, but it feels like a different world. The Cederberg Mountains\, burnt orange by iron oxide\, dominate the landscape. Jagged sandstone rock formations\, like the Maltese Cross and the Wolfberg Arch\, and ancient San and Khoi rock art\, make this area truly spectacular. \nThe Cederberg lies 250km north of Cape Town\, stretching from the Middelberg Pass in Citrusdal to north of the Pakhuis Pass at Clanwilliam. The wilderness encompasses about 71 000 hectares of rugged\, mountainous terrain\, making it a top spot in the Western Cape for hiking and rock-climbing enthusiasts. \nThe Cederberg\, which forms part of the Cape floral Region\, is a World Heritage Site\, is covered in mountain fynbos\, including the laurel protea\, the red disa\, rooibos\, and the rare and endemic snow protea. Rare Clanwilliam cedars\, the area’s namesake\, dot the higher mountain cliffs. \nThe area is also rich in wildlife. Visitors with a keen eye may spot porcupines\, honey badger\, the Cape clawless otter and aardvark. The lucky few may even catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard. There are also smaller predators like the African wild cat\, lynx\, bat-eared fox\, aardwolf and Cape fox. Other\, more common animals include baboons\, dassies\, grey rhebok\, klipspringers\, duiker and grysbok. \nTo find out more\, download the Cederberg Wilderness brochure. \nAlgeria\nFrom Cape Town: Take the N7 highway. Stay on the N7 past Citrusdal\, after 28km take the Cederberg/Algeria turn-off to the right. Follow this main gravel road for 17km you will see the office complex and accommodation and campsite access road on your left. This is a 250km drive\, which should take about three hours. \n \n

All vehicles must also be parked by 9 am\, and there is no exit before 12:30 pm. They also require you to move your car before 4 pm when the car park is locked.\nYellow Car Park (Not on sale yet) – Located at the wood. (formerly Foster Wheeler)\, Shinfield Park\, Shinfield\, RG2 9FW. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the Race Village. We recommend you park by 8:30 am.\nPink Car Park – The organisers are hoping to offer the usual pink car park. However\, due to circumstances out of their control\, they cannot confirm if this car park will become available. They will make an announcement when they know.\nBy Taxi\nThere is also a Taxis service between the station and the Stadium\, with taxi pick up points at both locations – a fixed price of £10 between these locations. Please start in the wave associated with the colour on your bib.\nGreen Park Challenge\nThe Green Park Challenge will have two waves\, one for participants 11 & over and including the Corporate Challenge Green Park Challenge runners. The second wave will include those U10 and all accompanying adults.\nRace Packs\nRace packs will be available for collection at the Voco Hotel\, Madejski Stadium\, Reading RG2 0FL\, both on the Friday and Saturday before the event.\nIf you have requested your race pack be posted to you\, you should receive it by the following dates:\nEntries made before February – published at the beginning of September\nEntries made after early October – posted the last week in October\nIf your race pack does not arrive by these times\, then please collect a replacement pack from the events Helpdesk\, which will be open on Friday evening and Saturday morning at times listed above.\nInternational runners will need to collect their race pack from the Helpdesk situated in the Race Village.
