SUMMARY:Smurf Run
DESCRIPTION:About the event:\nCome and join Saturn Running for our Smurf Run\, who doesn’t love those little blue characters and therefore a medal reflecting how adorable they are! \nDate & time: Sunday 15th of February 2026\nOfficial start time: 9.30am \nLocation: Durham Amateur Rowing Club\, Green Ln\, Old Elvet\, Durham DH1 3JU \nThe £17.00 entry price is available only to members. You can become a member by logging into your profile and purchasing one of the membership schemes. As well as the cheapest entry price\, a member is guaranteed entry to the run and gets a mini-me medal pin at every event they attend! \nDistance & Time\nThis is a 7 hour Time Challenge event which allows you full control over the distance you want to run. The minimum distance is 3km\, which is part of a lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles or 7km (this is subject to change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions) and you can run as many\, or as few\, of these laps as you like subject to UK athletics age restrictions (please see the restrictions below). We will have a 3k turn point and 5k turn point within the lap which is available to allow our younger runners to comply with the UK Athletics distance rules. It is 3 laps for a half marathon\, 6 for a marathon and 7 or over for an ultra\, we also have a 50km distance available. \nCourse:\nThe course is along a beautiful stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required. \nAll abilities are welcome at our super-inclusive events and we also welcome walkers too. \nSpecial Event:\nIf our event is a special event for you\, for instance your 50th\, 99th\, 100th\, 150th\, 200th\, 250th etc. marathon or half marathon then please let us know. We will provide you with a great number with your name and the event date on it. \nVenue Facilities:\nToilets and changing facilities are available at the race HQ. Bag drop is near the start and finish area. Runners should be aware the bag drop is not staffed and items are left at the sole responsibility of the participant. No liability for lost items will be accepted by the Organiser. \nOther Information:\nThere will be somewhere to leave a bag at the start / finish area. However\, this is not a secure bag and the items cannot be watched at all times so please do not leave anything valuable. \nHeadphones are allowed. \nOur running events are held on public footpaths so we would be grateful if all runners were considerate of other path users. \n  \nFor more information\, please click here.

DESCRIPTION:The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run is a ten kilometer challenge through the heart of the capital.\nIt is the UK’s largest 10k with 25\,000 taking part annually. \nYou will pass live music performances\, encounter larger-than-life winter characters\, and see world famous landmarks. It’s an unforgettable journey for runners of all abilities. Many choose to run only part of the route\, walking at other points. Since its first edition in 2015 it has proved hugely popular\, receiving critical acclaim\, and even sprouting a special summer edition in 2021. \nThe event is delivered in partnership with Cancer Research UK\, and has already seen over 100\,000 people take part and over £6.6 million raised for life-saving cancer research. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOUR 10K ROUTE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet ready to experience London like you never have before! The 2026 route will be packed full of entertainment. Featuring everything from beloved returning favourites to exciting new additions. \nAs you navigate the closed road 10km route\, you’ll pass some of London’s most iconic landmarks\, including St. Paul’s Cathedral and Trafalgar Square. Along the way\, expect snowy surprises\, live music and plenty of encouragement to get you to the finish line.
