DESCRIPTION:Langkawi Island\, the Jewel of Kedah\, is set to host the new IRONMAN 70.3 Langkawi in 2019.\nRace along the pristine coast of Langkawi – the paradise tropical island of Malaysia. \nThe Event Experience\nThe ocean swim starts from the picturesque white sandy beach of Pantai Kok with a triangle out and back course. A one-loop bike course heads out of Pantai Kok on to a clockwise loop from towards the rolling hills of Datai and the fringes of Kuah Town. Athletes will return from the bike into an unique indoor air conditioned transition at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Center (next to the airport) . DESCRIPTION:What is SwimRun?\n\n\nParticipants traverse through a pre-marked course in nature alternating between running and swimming. Swim legs may consist of long open ocean swims\, rocky rivers or crystal-clear lakes while runs are on anything from roads\, fire trails\, technical rock scrambles or whatever nature puts in front of you. Athletes typically participate as a two-person team of men\, women or mixed but individual options are also available. \n​ \nAs a team\, you must remain within 10-meters of each other\, this is not a relay. You share the experience\, the fun\, the beauty and the suffering. \n​ \nRules permit swim aids such as hand paddles\, pull buoys\, even fins if you are so inclined but there are no transition areas and all gear must stay with you for the entire course so choose wisely. The swim is open to swimmers aged 12+ of all abilities and provides a healthy way to enjoy some friendly competition while supporting two great causes: Easter Seals Ontario and YMCA of Kingston Y Penguins Aquatic Club. \nSwim for Kids Highlights\nHighlights of the event include the post-swim breakfast and awards ceremonies. Here\, swimmers celebrate their accomplishments\, receive awards\, prizes and recognition for their swimming and fundraising efforts\, as well as have the opportunity to meet YMCA of Kingston and Easter Seals local Ambassadors. All Participants are to abide and must take part under these Rules and Regulations. \nAll the triathlon events are operated under the guidelines of the British Triathlon Federation\, which is the governing body for triathlon the UK. \n99% of the time\, wetsuits have to be worn for this event due to the temperature of the water\, generally in the UK and Thames Valley most of the water is between 14 degree Celsius & 22 degrees Celsius. The holiday will cater for all levels of swimmer from club swimmer to international standard. \nFACILITIES \nThe Pool\nThe centrepiece of The BEST Centre is our outdoor Olympic-sized training pool. The 10 lane\, 50m pool (50m x 25m x 2m) is a free-standing pool from Astra\, who supply the competition pools for the FINA world championships. \nThe Gym\nWe know that a well equipped gym is essential for a successful training camp\, so we have an on-site gym fully equipped and dedicated to swimming. We also have two large areas suitable for land work\, and plenty of space around the pool for stretching. Our state of the art facilities at The BEST Centre attract individuals and teams from across the world. More specifically\, we have welcomed 1000s of different swimming\, water polo\, triathlon and synchronised swimming teams from 38 countries worldwide. The combination of our facilities and the peacefulness of Colònia make for the perfect training camp – good enough for the very BEST! \nWHAT TO EXPECT\n“Our goal for each athlete is to have fun\, learn\, meet new friends\, and take a great attitude about their sport back to his or her home club.” \nWHAT’S INCLUDED\nThe swim holiday will be run by British Olympic swimmers and former British record holders as well as ASA qualified coaches. The holiday will comprise of 9 x 2 hour swimming sessions for 7 day holidays and 13 x 2 hour swim sessions for the 10 day holiday\, accompanied by dry land and stretching exercises. \nThe focus will be on:\n» Technique work.\n» Kicking.\n» Starts and turns.\n» Breakouts.\n» And having the most fun you can possibly have in a week of swimming. \nWhen the children are training\, parents are free to do their own thing and explore some of the beautiful sights of the island\, or sit in the sun and watch your children train. Parents will also have the opportunity to use the pool and the gym\, free of charge whilst the kids train! \nAlthough this is a swim holiday\, we offer so much more! As you can see on the itineraries\, outside of training we have a fun-filled schedule with lots of fun activities\, along with plenty of free time to relax as a family. \nWHAT TO BRING\nAll swimmers will need to bring fins and snorkel. Either bring your own if you have it\, or please order your kit from us and it will be waiting for you on your arrival. We recommend and sell Finis Zoomers or Z2\, and Finis snorkels. We have plenty of kick boards and pull buoys so there is no need to bring them. (Note: A non swimming child is aged 16 or under). \n1-2-1s: During the holiday we can organise 1-2-1 sessions of 30 or 60 minutes with individual swimmers. As time is very limited during the week\, it is best to book these in advance to avoid disappointment. Please note we do not offer 1:2:1 sessions on the arrival or departure days of our holiday dates. Cost for 30 minute session is 35 euros and 60 minutes is 50 euros. DESCRIPTION:Greater Manchester Swim 2019\nThe GREATER MANCHESTER SWIM! is perfect for people wanting to experience the brilliant sport of open water swimming. Held at our iconic MediaCityUK venue it’s one of the only venues in the UK where spectators are able to walk directly around the swim course and closely follow their swimmers to cheer them around. The friendly atmosphere and keen competition provides a great experience. Make a family day of it too and enjoy all the facilities that the booming MediaCityUK area has to offer! \nYou’ll be swimming on accurately measured courses within the superb water-quality tested Dock 9 (Lowry Theatre Dock) and supported by an excellent water safety team. Perfectomundo! \nTo ensure that you get speedy\, accurate swim times chip timing is provided with each swimmer needing to wear it on their ankle. Although there will a ‘deep water’ start you will need to climb up the finish ramp and pass through the finish arch / timing mat at the end of your swim to record your time.  \nMedals and goody bags will be provided to all participants with trophies posted to the top three adult (16+) female and male swimmers in the one and three mile distances. There will also a trophy for the top girl and boy (12-15 years) in the one mile race distance. \nNote that\, as the 500m is a ‘participation’ distance designed to provide a challenge to open water ‘newbies’\, there will be no trophies provided for this distance but medals and goody bags supplied only.  \nFurther information on the race course / important health and safety information will provided at the race briefing on Dockside 10 minutes prior to each swim. Timing chips and race caps will be distributed at race registration. \nLastly; There will be no posted race packs\, swim caps or timing chips.
