This unique event lasts three days in October the perfect way to start your season of racing. This fun inclusive format is ideal for clubs\, training groups and families to come along and enjoy the benefits of training and racing together. \nTo kick-off the weekend on Friday evening\, the Long Course athletes have The Jervis Bay Swim Classic to complete – a 3.8km open water swim that takes place at Jervis Bay. The Jervis Bay Swim Classic also has a 1.9km swim\, 1.5km swim and 750\, swim all to correspond with triathlons most popular distances. \nOn Saturday the attention turns to The Ride the River Cycle Classic\, and 180km of undulating countryside that also incorporates 90km\, 40km and 20km events – distances to attract athletes of all abilities. \nTo finish the weekend\, the athletes will complete The Huksisson Run Festival- a 42.2km marathon taking in the beautiful coastline of Jervis Bay and Huskisson. There is also a 21.1km run\, 10km run and a 5km run which allows everyone to be involved. \nMore than 1000 competitors are expected to attend the LCW with approximately 200 athletes attempting to receive the Long Course Weekend medal\, which entails completing all three of the longest distances. Successful LCW athletes will be awarded with the LCW medal and polo shirt at the finish line presentation on Sunday after the marathon. \nPlease note – photographic identification will be required at registration. Athletes without this may not be registered by the start time of the event. \nCompetition Dates\nFriday 27th – Sunday 29th October 2017 \nCompetition Venue\nJervis Bay – New South Wales \nNumber of Medal Events\nThree main medals: The Swim medal\, The Cycle medal\, The Run medal \nThe LCW Medal: Awarded to the athletes entered into the LCW events; 3.8km swim\, 180km cycle and 42.2km run \nCompetition Format \nEach individual event will take part on a separate day of the weekend. They are: 3.8km Swim 2hours\, 180km cycle 8 hours\, 42.2km run 6 hours \nAbout Jervis Bay\nJervis Bay’s famous white-sand beaches and clear turquoise waters are amongst the safest and most beautiful in the world. \nCoastal\, marine and hinterland National Parks offer fantastic bushwalking\, cycling tracks\, Indigenous culture\, camping spots\, cliff-top lookouts and maritime heritage. \nTeeming with native Australian wildlife\, our resident dolphins play in the bay all year round. See kangaroos\, wallabies\, echidnas\, wombats\, and many rare bird & animal species in the wild. \nOne of the best places in Australia to witness whales on their annual migrations\, humpbacks and southern right whales can be seen both offshore and inside the calmer waters of the bay from June through to November. \nThe many bay and ocean beaches\, lagoons\, secret coves and hidden creeks are perfect for swimming\, kayaking\, boating\, fishing\, standup paddle boarding and surfing.\nUnspoiled coastal and country villages have local produce markets\, boutique shops\, art galleries and a terrific museum. The area boasts world-class cafes\, restaurants\, pubs\, wine bars and a burgeoning music scene. \nJervis Bay is central to all the South Coast has to offer: Kangaroo Valley\, Berry and Ulladulla all the same distance away and we are close to all the south coast wineries.

SUMMARY:Spetsathlon 2018
DESCRIPTION:Spetsathlon 2018\nWelcome to Spetsathlon 2018\, a rich and diverse sporting event featuring a number of happenings and sports activities for runners and other athletes\, in a beautiful route along the periphery of the island. \nParticipating in Spetsathlon 2018 is a great opportunity to enjoy a unique running course of natural beauty\, a route by the sea and through the pine trees\, passing by historical landmarks. Let alone that the weather in Spetses is ideal for a running eve. \nWhat is Spetsathlon\nTriathlon: running\, swimming\, cycling \nRaces\nTriathlon: sprint & endurance running\, swimming\, cycling\n1. Triathlon race\, 2 courses:\nSpetses Triathlon Sprint (750m swim\, 25km bike and 5km run)\nSpetses Triathlon Endurance (1500m swim\, 50km bike and 10km run)\n2. The Bike Race (25 km) – Spetses Island Round \nThe participation includes the following benefits\n– Participation certificate\n– Commemorative medal for participation\n– Commemorative T-shirt\n– Race bag\n– Pasta Party \nHealth coverage\nIn any case all runners participate solely at their own risk. The organisers have no responsibility for whatever happens to the runners related to health issues or owing to lack of a preventive medical check. It is highly recommended that the participants undergo a thorough medical examination before entering the race. The organisers will not ask for medical certificates from any athlete (male and female)\, since they all participate at their own exclusive risk and responsibility (parents or guardians have liability for their children). We will also provide offers for special health check-up for all runners\, and members of their families. \nAid Stations\nAlong the running route\, there will be stations to support the runners. At the start and finish stations and at the runners’ support stations bottled water and sports drinks will be available to all attendees. \nAwards\nThe first three winners of the general classification Men and Women will be awarded a medal and a diploma. To all the runners who finish the race a commemorative medal and a diploma of participation will be given.\nThe age categories for men and women\, in both triathlon and bike race\, will be the following: 19-29 / 30-39 / 40-49 / 50-59 / 60-69 / 70 + \nQualification criteria\nTriathlon Race athletes must\n– Be over 18 years of age\n– Submit a medical report by a GP or Cardiologist (issued 6 months before the event at the very most)\n– Wear a helmet during the cycling race.\n– Wear a cap during the swimming race.\n*Participation will not be allowed if the documents requested are not submitted! \nElectronic Timing\nAll participants will be timed by a timing company using an electronic timing system. For this reason\, the runners must wear the timing chip they will receive from the registration centre along with the participation number. Attention: Your time will not be registered and will not be included in the results if you do not have the timing chip attached to your shoe and if you fail to pass over the timing mats. \nRoutes\nEven though the streets of Spetses are of good quality for the first two to three kilometres after the start line\, there are some problematic spots when cycling through the old part of the city. Thus\, it is proposed to use road bikes instead of time trial bikes. \nMap of 25km cycling- island circuit \nMap of 1km swimming \nstart-finish point for swimming\, St Mamas beach

SUMMARY:The Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon\nThis first race of the season sets the scene for a competitive and fun series\, hosted within the beautiful grounds and surrounding area of stunning South Galway. What’s more\, the race coincides with a Bank Holiday in the UK and it is also the first weekend of the UK school half term\, making it an ideal break for sporty families. \nAll of the races at Lough Cutra Castle kick-off by launching into an open-water swim in the lake\, transitioning into a bike route which circumnavigates Lough Cutra itself. The half iron gauntlet cycle takes in the beautiful Burren national park. The event offers not only a chance to race but a festival atmosphere with live music\, dancing\, children’s entertainment\, retailers and food. \nAbout Lough Cutra Castle\nThe countryside surrounding Lough Cutra Castle contains evidence of a history dating back to the Irish-Celtic mythology of the Tuatha Dé Danaan. \nOld churches\, cells and monasteries are prolific in the area\, with some of the islands on the lake containing the remnants of stone altars. \nThe history of the actual estate can be traced back as far as 866 A.D. when the ruined church of Beagh was sacked by the Danes and war raged through the district for nearly 1\,000 years. \nThe Castle itself was built during the Gothic revival period and is idyllically situated overlooking the Estate’s 1\,000 acre lake (the largest privately owned lake in Europe)\, home to the open-water swim of the Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon.

This requires participants to adapt accordingly with regard to carefulness\, equipment and race strategy. \nParticipants take full responsibility for their participation in the race. This means participants are responsible for their state of health\, training\, fitness and equipment. It is expected of all participants that they:\na) are dressed suitably and in accordance with the weather conditions and their individual requirements and pro-tect themselves against rain\, cold and sun;\nb) retire from the race as soon as it threatens to become a health risk for them;\nc) behave in an environmentally compatible way and do not leave any refuse in the countryside;\nd) provide first aid help to other participants if these have an accident or suffer health problems. \nThe following minimum age levels apply\n• T127 / T88: from 18 years of age\n• Other competitions: from 14 years of age\n• KIDS: from 4 years of age \nAn acclimatisation period of ideally 5 days at an altitude above 1500 m a.s.l. is highly recommended before starting in one of the long-distance competitions. \nInfective illnesses suffered before the race (tonsillitis\, influenza\, etc.) can have a significant negative effect on the physical performance and may signify a serious danger to a runner‘s health (e.g. heart muscle damage). Participants older than 35 years of age who are competing for the first time in a long-distance race are strongly recommended to undergo a complete health check by a doctor. \nT43 / T39 / K43\nThese categories represent several hours‘ endurance performance at altitudes of up to 2750 m a.s.l. and place special demands on the participants‘ performance capabilities. Adaptability\, autonomy and self-sufficiency in a mountain environment are also required. \nT127 / T88\nThese are long\, high alpine trails. They have an adventure-character where participants consciously take major risks. Some ascent and descents are very steep and require surefootedness as well as alpine experience. \nTo complete these trails\, good fitness and training are absolutely necessary. Also required are a good sense of orientation\, excellent adaptability and self-sufficiency in a mountain environment. \nParticipants are alone and run independently for long distances. Self-sufficiency is understood to be the capability of surviving alone on the route in all weather conditions\, making independent decisions (including retiring from the race)\, to be able to ensure a personal supply of food and drink and be able to provide first aid measures using an emergency firstaid kit. \nOrganiser services\nInfrastructure\nThe organiser provides the following infrastructure for participants:\n• Marked race course\n• Food and drink (during the race and at the finish)\n• Medical services\n• Transport and delivery of running kit to the finish area\n• Information about weather during the race\n• Timekeeping at intermediate posts and at the finish\n• Live tracking (for T127 / T88) \nFood + drink\nThe intermediate and finish refreshments are provided at the following distances:\nT127 / T88: Ø 17 km (15 – 20 km)\nT43 / T29 / H16 / T39 / H21 / H20: Ø 8 km (5 – 15 km)\nK43 / K23 / K10: Ø 5 km (4 – 6 km) \nBefore the event\, a plan showing the location of the refreshment stations and the food / drink provided there will be published in internet. The organisers reserve the right to modify the refreshment plan at any time and without notice. \nParticipants are responsible for ensuring that they have sufficient food and drink with them at all times. \nMedical services\nAccording to the character of the race or trail\, the time taken and the distance covered\, the medical services are limited to coaching of participants\, initial treatment in the case of an emergency and notification of civil emergency rescue services. The medical personnel have the right to remove participants from the race definitely or for a limited period if the danger exists of said participant sustaining damage to their health if they continue. In the case of emergencies or retirement from the race on doctor‘s orders\, the costs of rescue\, care and evacuation by medical or rescue services are at the expense of the participant. \nEquipment\nWeather conditions can change very quickly in the mountains. Snowfall and a drop in temperature to below freezing is possible at any time at altitudes higher than 2000 a.s.l. Efficient protection against sun\, cold and rain is absolutely necessary for all competitions. \nThe following basic equipment is compulsory for T127 / T88:\n• Cell phone (always switched on and with direct dial emergency number)\n• Rain jacket\n• Bottle/bag\n• Headlamp with spare batteries\n• Emergency thermal (space) blanket (minimum 1.40m x 2m)\n• Elastic bandage for emergency dressings (min. 200cm x 4cm)\n• Emergency whistle \nThe organisers have the right to control the compulsory basic equipment at any time. The organisers reserve the right\, at short notice and without any reimbursement of starting fees to:\na) make changes to the race route;\nb) to interrupt the race and restart it;\nc) to stop the race or to cancel it before the start. \nRoute data\nThe official route data (length\, altitude difference) is determined in cooperation with “Outdooractive”. Data measured with GPS may deviate significantly from this depending on device\, weather conditions and quality of measurement. \nKnowledge of the route / time limits and traffic control\nAn in-depth study of the route is absolutely necessary\, in particular for T127 / T88. Participants must be able to follow the race route using a map. This is very important above all\, when the route markers are missing or moved by weather conditions (wind) or third persons. \nFor safety reasons participants are not allowed to leave the race route. The route will be closed according to the time schedule given (departure from a post). Participants who arrive too late will be removed from the race by the person responsible. Swiss national law applies. \nData protection\nWith their registration\, participants agree to publication of their family name\, first name\, year of birth\, place of residence and nationality in the start list\, rankings and time lists. This agreement applies to publication in internet\, print media\, TV/teletext\, speaker‘s announcements and start lists and rankings posted during the race. Photographs and videos taken in connection with the T127 / T88 may be used without any claim for compensation in internet\, print media\, TV and all other social media. After registering you will be directed to Transition where you will leave your bike\, cycle kit and running gear. Competitors will have their own numbered racking area corresponding to their race number. It is recommended that you ‘walk through’ & familiarise yourself with the routes to/from your bike from/to the entrances and exits of transition prior to starting the race. Remember to leave your bike in a low enough gear\, ready for the cycle section. There is no cycling in transition: mount/dismount your bike at the mount/dismount points. You bike racking area must not be marked with towels\, balloons\, powder\, etc as these will be removed. \nTransition will remain open to competitors throughout the day. It is a secure area patrolled by marshals. Competitors may enter and leave the area by the signed entry/exit only. You will be required to verify your identification i.e. race number\, with those on the gate. No one other than competitors or race officials will be permitted into the transition area at any time. \nIt is your responsibility to ensure that your bike is in safe road-worthy condition\, before entering transition. Any bike that is considered unsafe or hazardous to the rider or other competitors will not be allowed into transition. All handlebar ends must be plugged. Remember to check there are no punctures or flats the day before the race and before leaving for the event and ensure your helmet is securely fitting. \nRace Briefing\nYou must be changed and ready for your swim race briefing in front of transition at the specified time. You will have a separate briefing by the Swim Director on poolside. \nTransition Area\nThe transition area is located to the rear of the swimming pool in the car park (this will be closed for oncoming cars). \nNB: There will be a dry and warm transition area for clothing weather dependent. \nSwim Section\nAccording to British Triathlon rules the pool must be tested regularly for water quality. The final test will be done prior to the event and results will be posted up at registration. In the unfortunate event of chlorine levels being above the appropriate limit for safe swimming in this section of the event this discipline will be abandoned in favour of a duathlon. We regret that in this case no refunds can be offered. Historically all previous water tests have been well below these limits. \nThe temperature of the pool will be taken one hour before the event and will also be posted up at registration. If the temperature of the pool exceeds the appropriate level then the distances will be reduced. \nBike Course (1 Lap)\nThe bike course is a total of 12.2 miles (20.3K) following an undulating route leaving the swimming pool taking a right hand turn onto Dog Row and then joining the Quay. At the next turning it is another right hand turn onto the B1284. You proceed up the uphill passed the school taking the next left had turn onto Hazard Lane. You then proceed on this route joining Robyn lane for 1.85miles where you join the A690. You stay on the A690 for a total of 550 metres where you run left off it heading towards Pittington. You then proceed on Pittington Lane for 0.80 miles and then turn left in Low Pittington onto Coalford Lane heading towards High Pittington. You continue on Coadford Lane through Littletown joining the B1283 for 5.5 miles until you join Salters Lane signposted Haswell. You take the left hand turn and head. You stay on Salters Lane for 2.5 miles and then turn left on the A182 signposted Hetton. You then continue on this road for 1.6 miles coming into Hetton where you turn left then right back into the sports centre. \nNovice Bike Course (1 Lap)\nThe bike course is a total of 8 miles (13.3 K) following an undulating route leaving the swimming pool taking a right hand turn onto Dog Row and then joining the Quay. You then proceed on Pittington Lane for 0.80 miles and then turn left in Low Pittington onto Elemore St and then Elemore Lane. You stay on Elemore Lane for 2 miles then join the A182 heading at Easington Lane and then head towards Hetton. You stay on the A182 coming into Hetton and turn left at the crossing and then right back into the sports centre. \nDrafting\nDrafting on the bike section is illegal. This is when a competitor gains an advantage by cycling in the slip-stream of the cyclist in front. Competitors should ride a minimum of 10m behind the cyclist in front\, except when overtaking. If overtaking is not completed within 15 seconds the overtaking cyclist must drop back. Static marshals will check that all competitors comply with the drafting rule. \nIn order to monitor drafting our bike director will tour the bike route in an estate car. The legal distance you should be behind the rider in front is approximately the length of an estate car. Additionally there will be static marshals on course monitoring drafting. \nTransition (T2)\nYou will safely dismount your bike before the dismount line and wheel your bike into T2. Here you will rack your bike\, remove your helmet and change into your running gear\, ensuring your race number is visible at the front. \nRun routes \nSprint distance\nThe running route is 3.2 miles (5.2K) on a fairly course on pathways following a circular route from the sports centre. Out of transition runners then proceed adjacent to the A182 on a pathway for 1.13 miles. \nYou the turn left on the B1260 (Gillas Lane W) for 0.50 miles. At the roundabout you then turn left onto the B1284 (North Rd) for 1.3 miles. You then turn left passed the school onto the Quay\, Dog Row and then Park View heading back towards the Sports Centre. \nNovice distance (1 lap)\nThe running route is 1.2 miles (1.9K) on a flat course on pathways following a route from the sports centre. Out of transition runners then proceed adjacent to the A182 on a pathway for ½ a mile. You then head down into the park turning left. At the bottom of the bank you stay on the path heading left. Running through the park sticking to the path you are heading back towards the sports centre. At 1 mile you head up the bank and finish under the gantry at the front of the sports centre. \nRefreshments Stations\nThere will be 2 refreshments stations on course where fluid will be available: \nRefreshments station 1: At the 1 mile point on the run \nYou may bring additional filled bike bottles which will be stored at this refreshment station for a quick change of bottle during your bike section. You should place this bottle in the labelled box in transition when you rack your bike. A marshal will transport the box of bottles to the refreshments station ready for your bike section. This bottle should be easily recognisable. Please note we cannot guarantee the safety or security of your bottle. Your empties will be taken back to transition for collection at the end of your race. \nRefreshments station 2: At the Finish. Medical supplies will be available here too. \nCut-off Times\nAs it is our intention to encourage all participants to complete their challenge there are no enforced cut off times for the event. However\, after the following times the medical director\, referee and safety officer will assess the ability of the competitor to complete the course and it may be necessary to remove the competitor in the interests of their health and safety and for the sanity of our marshals. \nPrize Presentations\nPrize giving will take place at the Finish area in front of the pavilion in the afternoon once most competitors have completed their event\, which is expected to be about 11.00m. There will be trophies for male and female age category winners (1st places only) and overall 1st\, 2nd and 3rd prize winners in each of the 3 distances. If you are expecting a trophy you must be present at the presentations to receive your trophy. \nRace Appeals Process\nAn appeal is a request for a review of a decision made by an official. Appeals cannot be made against judgment calls [made] by officials. Judgment calls include\, but are not limited to: drafting\, dangerous riding and unsporting conduct. \nAppeals must be made in writing to the race official. The time for a competitor or official team representative to file an appeal is no later than 15 minutes after his or her finishing time or the posting of the infraction\, whichever is the later; however\, the intention to write an appeal has to be announced within five minutes of his or her finishing time or posting of infraction. After this deadline only announced protest will be admitted. A fee of £30 will be charged\, which is refundable if the appeal is upheld. \nWithdrawal from the Race\nIf you withdraw from the event at any stage before the finish\, please inform an event marshal. This is for your own safety\, and to save us from searching for you out on the course. If you cannot complete a stage\, but wish to continue with the other disciplines in the event\, you may do so\, but you will be disqualified from overall results. You must inform an event marshal of this as soon as you are able to do so\, and don’t forget to return your chip at the finish enclosure \nSpectator Viewing\nStart and Finish area at the school to cheer on their competitors as they run past the finish at each run lap and at the end of their race. \nSpectators are welcome to line the roadside to cheer passing cyclists but should not offer any form of assistance to the riders such as offering drinks bottles or assisting with mechanical problems. \nNudity\nCompetitors who are publically nude at any point of the race risk disqualification. For more details see the BTF Rules & Regulations. Please familiarise yourself with these. They are available to view on the BTF website: http://www.britishtriathion.org \nToilets\nToilet facilities are available at the visitor’s reception. There are also toilet\, accessible toilet\, shower and changing facilities in the Sports Centre\, on the approach to the Finish area\, and at the Pavilion\, just past the Finish Area. These facilities may be used by the runners. \nFirst Aid\nFirst aid will be available on site. If anyone is in need of medical attention they should inform the nearest event marshal who will contact the Medical Director \nAbuse to Officials\nAny competitor who is abusive to a race official risks being disqualified. \nPre Race training\nWe regret that free access to the lake or grounds is not available to competitors prior to race day \nResponsibilities\nThe organiser cannot be held responsible for competitors’ or spectators’ property lost\, stolen or damaged before\, during or after this event. \nAnd Finally ….\nWe hope that you enjoy the event and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Children will need to be in attendance at the race briefing\, which will be located at the Challenge Wanaka swim start location. This will be the starting area for all events.  \nRace briefing & event start time \nRace briefing is compulsory for all children and will take place 5 minutes before each age category starts. We will be operating wave starts\, with boys going in the first waves\, then girls going in the second waves. The prize giving will take place in the Challenge Wanaka finish area at 4:00pm for all age groups. \n  \n\n\n\n\n  \nCourse Description\nPlease refer to course map for details \nSWIM (Year 4-6) \nThe swim leg of the race will be in Lake Wanaka and will run parallel to the shore. Children start according to their age division in wave starts and will swim parallel to the lake. The race will commence with wave starts\, which will consist of a maximum of 25 children per wave. Wave’s will commence approximately 2-5 minutes apart and when the last swimmer of the last wave exits the water. \nThe depth of the swim will enable all children 10 and under to be able to stand up in the water at any time\, but will be deep enough to allow children to swim fluidly. We know how intimidating it is for children participating in Triathlon and especially within the first swim leg. For this reason\, we have an option for non-swimmers.  Non-swimmers will have the option to run along the beach\, after the last swimmer has left the water instead of swimming.  For those who choose to swim\, they will need to swim the entire distance but can take breaks by simply standing up in the water at any time.  However\, they will not be able to move forward in the water whilst standing on their feet.   The Wanaka Lake Swimmers club will be out in the water with noodles to support and regulate each wave of children. \nThe Lake Wanaka swimmers club will be out in the water on stand-up paddle boards or in kayaks and waves will stay small with 25 children per wave. This enables a safe and achievable transition from the Junior Challenge to a longer traditional triathlon swim format. \nBIKE (Year 1-6)\n \nThere will be one main transition area\, as illustrated in the course map.  Swimmers/runners will cross Ardmore Street (which will be closed to vehicles) and enter the transition area and locate their bike\, which will be in numbered sections within each age category.  Helmets are compulsory for the bike leg and marshals will be checking helmets are secured when children exit the transition. The bike will be a loop course that will go along the Millennium track that runs parallel to Ardmore St towards Stoney Creek carpark.  Year 1-3 will turn around just after the toilet block and head back along the gravel path that runs alongside the lake. The older children (Year 4-6) will continue up Ardmore/Mt Aspiring Rd) and turn right into Wanaka Station Park before linking up with the grassy verge which runs above the Millennium track. Children will continue along the grassy verge until they reach Edgewater where they will turn around and continue back along the Millennium track\, via Stoney creek and back to transition area. \nRUN (Year 1-6)\n \nChildren will enter the transition through the Ardmore St entry chute and rack their bikes and continue to exit on the Brownston St end of the transition area. \nYear 1 & 2 children will take a swift left turn after exiting the bike transition and make their way to the finish line area (main Challenge Wanaka finish line). \nYear 3\, Year 4 and Year 5 children will take a right turn as they exit the bike transition area and continue in an anti-clockwise direction boreding the transition area. They will then continue anti-clockwise on a 750m square loop towards the Cardona Valley road end of Pembroke park. Upon completing the loop they will then continue towards the Challenge Wanaka finish line area (as per the course map description). \nYear 6 children will complete two loops of the 750m course around Pembroke Park. Upon completing 1 lap they will be handed a coloured band\, which is evidence of their 1st lap completing. They will need to hand this to the volunteers stationed at a desk upon completion of their 2nd loop and then continue to make their way to the finish line. If children only complete 1 loop they will be disqualified so please ensure your children are aware of the two loop course. \nNote: We will have volunteer marshals in place along the way to assist\, but please ensure your children are familiar with the course and the transition area (and direction they exit for each leg). Refer to the course maps to clarify the finer details of the course.  The course will be marked from 3pm on Thursday the 14th of February 2019. \n  \nVolunteers\nThe execution of this event is supported by local volunteers. If you can spare a few hours\, please sign up on the Volunteer page through the Challenge Wanaka website. With 1000 children competing over the course of 6 hours\, we need a lot of support and the children competing really appreciate having helpers there to support them as they achieve something truly remarkable. \n  \nResults\nClick this link to see the 2019 results \nClick this link to see the 2018 results \nClick here to see the 2017 results \nClick here to see the 2016 results \nClick here to see the 2015 results \nClick here to see the 2014 results. \nClick here to download the 2013 results. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2018 Photos\nMarathon Photos were out and about on the Junior Challenge course for 2018.  Click to their website and search for your number or your name to find pictures of you/your child! SUMMARY:Free Triathlon Training in Ipoh Malaysia
DESCRIPTION:Ipoh\, Perak\, Malaysia is going to have two great international athletes leading workshops and training camps for anyone interested in Triathlon.  Swimming Cycling and Running. \n  \nHi Everyone \nBelow is you’ll find the weekly training structure for our group and others that are bound to join. It will help develop us all for our goals moving forward even if your goal is just to be a healthier happier person J \nThese sessions start TOMORROW and I just want to run you through some key points on the plan. \nThe track session is a key session for the week and will develop your run technique and leg speed\, giving you tremendous pace awareness. The first session TOMORROW is an important session where I will test your aerobic capacity (or your run VO2 max)\, this can be done fairly accurately with a simple time trial and will provide paces which will really help each training phase. If you do own a pace watch PLEASE wear it to each session and I will provide you with your paces that we will be using after our simple test tomorrow. We meet at the polo ground run track (around the pond) at 7am sharp for a 1 hour session. \nSwim sessions are less than I would like at just two 1 hour sessions per week\, we should swim more than this and we eventually will\, but please attend these two sessions if possible and use the techniques learnt in your own sessions. Just pay your public entry fee at 8am to access the outside MBI pool\, PLEASE bring Fins\, Paddles\, Pull Buoy and kick board if you have them and if you do not PLEASE purchase them as you will not be able to participate in valuable drills without them! Head to the pool as quickly as possible so we can get in and secure a centre section of the pool in what is a public session. \nKelly’s Castle TT on Tuesday nights is both fun and a very valuable session we will meet at the Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu Temple next to Kellies Castle https://goo.gl/maps/8yAqnVkHmaE2 I have agreed parking here for all our participants\, but please kindly make a donation at the box inside the temple to show our appreciation for accepting us! These sessions WILL build speed and develop your threshold power through the season\, I can give you pointers on this\, but the fun bit is that all results will be entered onto a league table to provide end of year results which will result in prizes and awards for the most improved and fasted riders as well as some fun awards as well! The league table will be updated and published after each Tuesday evening session. \nAll other sessions are group runs or bike rides where there is no specific coaching but we will work as a team and improve together sharing experience and advice. \nYou may notice there is a Junior bike skills session which Dave Spence has kindly agreed to run\, this still needs final agreement but will be a great session for bike development and I have some good ideas I can share with Dave to make it both fun and beneficial which it’s bound to be!! \nInterim Sessions \n• Track session – Monday 7am (Polo ground or 200m track TBC) \n• Swim set – Tuesdays 8am (MBI public pool) \n• Kelly’s castle Cycling TT – Tuesdays 6pm (Sri Maha Mariamman Temple) \n• Run Easy – Wednesday 7am (Polo grounds park) \n• Bike group – Thursday 6.30am (Tambun McDonalds) \n• Swim set – Friday 8am (MBI public pool) \n• Long Bike ride – Saturday 7am (Public Bank Simpang Pulai) \n• Junior Bike skills – Saturday 5.30pm (location TBC) \n• Long Easy Run – Sunday 7am (Meeting point TBC) \n \n
