It will help develop us all for our goals moving forward even if your goal is just to be a healthier happier person J \nThese sessions start TOMORROW and I just want to run you through some key points on the plan. \nThe track session is a key session for the week and will develop your run technique and leg speed\, giving you tremendous pace awareness. The first session TOMORROW is an important session where I will test your aerobic capacity (or your run VO2 max)\, this can be done fairly accurately with a simple time trial and will provide paces which will really help each training phase. If you do own a pace watch PLEASE wear it to each session and I will provide you with your paces that we will be using after our simple test tomorrow. We meet at the polo ground run track (around the pond) at 7am sharp for a 1 hour session. \nSwim sessions are less than I would like at just two 1 hour sessions per week\, we should swim more than this and we eventually will\, but please attend these two sessions if possible and use the techniques learnt in your own sessions. Just pay your public entry fee at 8am to access the outside MBI pool\, PLEASE bring Fins\, Paddles\, Pull Buoy and kick board if you have them and if you do not PLEASE purchase them as you will not be able to participate in valuable drills without them! Head to the pool as quickly as possible so we can get in and secure a centre section of the pool in what is a public session. \nKelly’s Castle TT on Tuesday nights is both fun and a very valuable session we will meet at the Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu Temple next to Kellies Castle https://goo.gl/maps/8yAqnVkHmaE2 I have agreed parking here for all our participants\, but please kindly make a donation at the box inside the temple to show our appreciation for accepting us! These sessions WILL build speed and develop your threshold power through the season\, I can give you pointers on this\, but the fun bit is that all results will be entered onto a league table to provide end of year results which will result in prizes and awards for the most improved and fasted riders as well as some fun awards as well! SUMMARY:Junior Tri Dash Bangkok 2019
DESCRIPTION:International Junior Tri Dash Event 2019\nThe inaugural Junior Tri Dash Bangkok series has been a great success. The four races in 2018 attracted a total of more than 400 junior triathletes. Building on the success of 2018\, we are launching the 2019 series with a total of five races from January to October. The five races will be held on Saturdays\, all of them the day before the respective adult Dash races. \nThe entry fee is THB 1\,200 per race or THB 5\,500 for the five race package. Every junior athlete racing their first race of the season will receive a starter kit that comprises of a Tri Dash t-shirt\, a drawstring bag\, a race belt\, and a bike bottle. If you sign up for a minimum of three races you will receive a Tri Dash visor and if you sign up for the whole five race series you will receive a Tri Dash tri suit. \nThere are finisher medals as well but with a twist. Finish your first race and you will get a bronze medal. After finishing three races you will get a silver medal and if you finish all five races you receive the prestigious gold medal. \nThere will also be a series points system allowing junior athletes to accumulate points throughout the series with the top three athletes in each age group receiving a trophy and prizes at the season finale in October. \nRules\nThere will be some variation to the rules depending on the race format. \n– Athletes race at their own risk. \n– Athletes must be medically fit to race. \n– Athletes must prepare own water for their bikes. \n– Athletes must sign a waiver form before they race. \n– Athletes must wear their race number and be marked on their arms and legs. \n– Race briefing is held at the pool before the race starts. Attendance is compulsory. \n– Athletes should not leave any valuables in their bags at the transition area. The race organizers do not take responsibility for lost items. \nSWIM \n– Athletes must keep in the correct swim lane. Any overtaking must be done safely. Try not to crash into oncoming swimmers. \n– Athletes must keep count of the laps themselves. \nBIKE \n– Athletes’ bikes must have working brakes and be safe to race on. \n– HELMETS ARE COMPULSORY. No helmet No race. There is a mandatory helmet check for proper fit at registration. Athletes will not be allowed on the race course until they have properly adjusted their helmet. \n– Athletes mount their bike on the left hand side of the road and must be cautious of bikers already racing on the road when they start \n– Athletes must keep to the left of the road when biking\, pass on the right\, keep far right when passing until they have cleared the drafting zone\, and shout “on your right” when passing. \n– There is one sharp left turn that has a little bit of sand just after the road narrows to one lane at about 4.2 kms. Athletes must slow down and be careful where this is marked. This is a no passing in this area. \n– Athletes dismount the bike on the left hand side of the road at the bike finish and run their bike into transition. \n– NO DRAFTING on the bike. DESCRIPTION:Kids Duathlon Event 2019\nDue to the ongoing success of our Twyford Kids Triathlon we’re very excited to be moving our Kids Duathlon to the same venue. The community of Twyford really gets behind our events with yummy refreshments on offer from the Youth Centre and lots of local kids taking part. \nEvent has been put forward to be part of the Triathlon England South Central Junior Series for the third year. \nOff-road run and cycle on grass around large recreation ground. \nOpen to all children aged 8 (including those turning 8 in 2019) – 14 years old. DESCRIPTION:he Driffield Junior Triathlon\, held at Driffield Leisure Centre\, in East Yorkshire has become an important part of the Driffield Triathlon weekend over the years\, growing each year from strength to strength. \nWith a capacity of 200 competitors across all the age groups\, the Driffield Junior Triathlon offers children from the age of 8 and upwards to have a go. \nTaking place entirely within the grounds of Driffield Sports Centre\, the triathlon offers a very safe opportunity for children to experience and enjoy the three-disciplined sport. \nNo matter what their ability\, our focus is to introduce the sport to children in order that they can participate in a fun and friendly environment. \nWith the senior triathlon in the morning and the junior triathlon taking place in the afternoon\, the Driffield Triathlon weekend offers the whole family an opportunity to take part\, enjoy and experience this exciting sport. \nLooking for a family challenge in 2019? This fantastic event takes place on Sunday 12th May 2019. \n  \nARRIVAL \nWe advise competitors to arrive a minimum of one hour before the start of their race to ensure they have plenty of time to rack their bikes before the first wave of competitors and also gives everyone time to find their way round the course and feel comfortable with the transition areas. \nFinal race information including competitor’s final start times will be emailed out to you approximately 10 days before Driffield Junior Triathlon and will also be listed on the website the week before the event on here so please make sure you check your time and allow plenty of time for travel to the venue. \nWe will be in touch before this\, keeping you up to date with any race information\, training tips and ideas that might just help you achieve a PB! \nThere is parking available at the venue which is free of charge. There are also changing facilities\, food vans and equipment stalls at the event (just in case you forget something!) \nWHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE COURSE \nThis is a pool-based triathlon and depending on the age-category children are divided into key waves to make it as fair as possible. \nThere are 4 age categories in the junior event\,\nTristart – 8 year olds\nTristar 1 – 9 and 10 year olds\nTristar 2 – 11 and 12 year olds\nTristar 3 – 13 and 14 year olds\nYouth – 15 and 16 year olds are able to take part in the senior Driffield Triathlon \n*Please note\, the age category is determined as age on 31st December 2019 \nSWIM \nThe Junior Triathlon kicks off with the swim in the modern Driffield 25-metre swimming pool. \nFor some\, this will be their first opportunity to take part in a triathlon and it can seem a little daunting\, but our support crew are there to help put the children at ease\, so they can enjoy and experience the fun atmosphere. \nOur aim is to provide the same high standards that you would expect from any Freebird event\, allowing children\, no matter what standard they are\, the ability to participate in this fun and exciting sport. \nBIKE \nOnce the swim is completed\, the children head back to the transition where they can pick up their bikes and begin the second part of their triathlon. \nThe entire bike route remains within the grounds of Driffield Sports Centre\, making it a very safe circuit\, away from main roads. \nMost the bike course takes place on grass with a small section on tarmac. Made up of several laps depending on the age category\, you will have plenty of opportunities to cheer on your children as they negotiate the route. \nOur event photographer will be on the circuit to capture special moments that you can download after the event from our website. \nRUN \nBack into the transition and just the run to go. Again\, staying within the grounds of Driffield Sports Centre\, the run heads out onto the playing fields where the children will complete the final section of their triathlon. \nThe run is entirely on grass; the multi-lap circuit allows the children the opportunity to pick up a drink on each lap if they wish to do so. \nAfter completing their final lap\, they will pass under the finish gantry to the cheers from the many supporters watching the event. \nA great achievement for youngsters to complete their very own triathlon and a great way to introduce them to the sport. \nSet them free with Freebird Events. \n

DESCRIPTION:Zofinger City Run 2019\nA sporty ambience with spectacular duathlon and running sports in the middle of Zofinger’s old town. \nThe Duathlon Interval and the Zofinger Stadtlauf offer participants and the public a great range of adrenalin and entertainment. \nThe Zofinger city run is a compact and atmospheric city run with various categories for young and old\, teams and individual athletes\, amateur athletes and performance athletes. It will be held for the 22nd time in 2019 and can be played singly or as a team. The routes are 6km or 10km. \nGetting There\nThe journey is easily possible both by train and by car. Zofingen train station is only 400m away from the competition area. DESCRIPTION:Each year\, it welcomes over 7\,500 participants of all ages and abilities to swim\, bike and run around the spectacular route. Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Bloodwise Blenheim Triathlon is opening for its 15th years and is the 2nd largest triathlon in the UK. There are tons of options available to race. From a Super Sprint (400m swim\, 13.2km cycle\, 2.9km run) to Sprint (750m swim\, 19.8km cycle\, 5.4km run). \n  \nStarting with a swim in the Great Lake\, the competitors then enter the ‘transition’ area in the Great Court where they collect their bikes for the cycling section around the Park. The bikes are then returned to the Great Court and their run begins around the Queen Pool with the finish on the road leading away from the Palace. The course is alongside the competitors’ village where you will be able to find food and further amenities. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can enter as an individual in any of the 3 distances or as part of a Team Relay in the Sprint distance category. SUMMARY:GEMS Kids Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The First annual GEMS Kids Triathlon will be held on Sunday\, June 9\, 2019. The event format will be pool swim\, on-campus bike course\, and on-campus run course. There will be four age groups from 6 to 14 years old. We will have participation awards\, T-shirts\, goody bags\, and age-group awards. \nThis is an opportunity for your young athlete to participate in an enjoyable life-experience through athletics. It is not structured as a highly competitive event. Rather\, we want it to encourage self-confidence\, good health\, and community spirit through participation. \nAs an event that is sanctioned by USATriathlon\, we are required to follow their rules. One of these rules governs age. This means our event is open to kids ages 6 to 14. However\, it is not quite that simple. USAT does not go by the age of the athlete on race day. Instead\, your triathlon age is your age as of 12/31 of the current year. \nFor our 2019 event\, this means that all kids will race at their age as of 12/31/19. For example\, if your child was born during October 2009\, they will be 10 on race day\, however\, they will actually be an 10 year-old triathlete for all of 2019. \nThis is not really that big of a deal once you understand it. However\, it does impact a few different groups of kids. \nFirst\, all kids born in 2013 are eligible to participate (assuming they can swim 25 yards safely; bike without training wheels; and run). For example\, we will have many kids who are actually 5 on race day. However\, they are 6 year-old triathletes because they will turn 6 before the end of the year. \nSecond\, kids born in 2004 are not eligible to participate. There will be some kids who are 14 on race day\, but they will turn 15 before the end of 2019.

SUMMARY:The Wales Triathlon 2019
DESCRIPTION:The Wales Triathlon Cymru has become a favourite amongst athletes of all abilities. The middle distance course is fairly fast\, with a very sheltered out and back swim in Fishguard bay. The bike leg starts with a very fast rolling road into and around St Davids\, then turns back towards Mathry\, before heading into St Davids for the final time and straight back to Fishguard. \nThe run has two real hills\, the rest is very fast and flat\, and is stunning as it follows the coastal path. The sprint event follows parts of the same course. We have camping available onsite for you to make a weekend out of it.

This unique event lasts three days in mid-July\, accommodating some of the best triathlon talent in the UK and the world\, including a number of IRONMAN UK athletes\, serving as the perfect preparation and build up to the IRONMAN Wales event in September. \nTo kick-off the weekend on Friday evening\, the Long Course athletes have The Wales Swim to complete – a 2.4 mile swim that takes place on Tenby’s North Beach. On Saturday their attention turns to The Wales Sportive\, and 112 miles of undulating Welsh countryside lined with enthusiastic crowds.  \nTo finish the weekend\, the athletes have the small task(!) of completing the 26.2 miles of The Wales Marathon\, which is quickly establishing itself as a fantastic event in its own right.\nMore than 50\,000 competitors have attempted the difficult terrain and challenging weather conditions on this punishing route since its first event in 2010.
