DESCRIPTION:The EPIC Fire Fighters ‘2UP’ Duathlon is a unique event which takes place in conjunction with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue. It’s known locally as the ‘start of season social race’ but there’s nothing particularly ‘social’ about the course! The format is simple\, you choose a friend or race partner and stick together throughout the run / bike / run. On the bike you are allowed to work as a pair\, by ‘drafting’ each other\, but not with other teams. The 4 miles trail run is a tough start and end to the race\, with a hilly 25 mile in between\, to make sure you finish with a grimace on your face. It’s a fantastic event\, an awesome atmosphere\, lots of team rivalries and smiles all round. DESCRIPTION:The wee triathlon is a perfect and very doable triathlon! The Wee Triathlon is aimed at beginners along with those of you who are looking for something to keep you motivated and fit over the winter. The Wee Triathlon has been put together in a way that it has only one quick transition\, the one between the bike and run\, so is even more suited to those just starting out on their multi-sport journey as you get a rest between your swim and cycle! \nThe Wee Triathlon is a pool-based triathlon involving a 400m swim\, a 10-mile bike ride on a mixture of tar\, forest track and footpath in Glen Nevis and a 3-mile cross country run on varied terrain similar to the bike route. \nOur aim is to encourage everyone to experience the wonderful world of triathlon and make it fun and rewarding for all participants. We have been running The Wee Triathlon for 15 years\, it really is a favourite with experienced triathletes and with those new to multi sport it really is the ideal triathlon for the terrified first-timer who wants to join the multi-sport family. Please remember that although the thought of it may be terrifying\, a triathlon needn’t be! If this is going to be your first triathlon\, we think you will love this format\, we are sure this is the best one to ease you into the world of multi-sport events. \nSWIM\n400m pool swim –  Swim starts 0830 . The swim will be on a first come first start basis . \nYou will use your timing chip to start and stop your swim time. The transition from swim to bike will NOT be timed! \n  \nOFF ROAD CYCLE\nAfter you have changed into bike clothing make your way to the Old Nevis Bridge . \nThe bike section will be open from 1000 \, you will use your timing chip to start your bike time.\nThe bike section is approximately 10 mile of both on and off road cycling.  The route is on fire road and tarred road.  Mountain\, hybrid and cyclocross bikes are suitable. DESCRIPTION:This is the opening round of the EPIC Triathlon Series. It’s a 400m pool swim\, a 28k out and back coastal road cycle route and a 5.8k road run. SUMMARY:Clitheroe Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The Clitheroe Triathlon is a challenging course set in the Ribble Valley. It starts with a 400m pool swim\, but the real fun starts on the bike as the 30k ride is ‘lumpy’ and includes the climb up Birdy Brow\, onto Longridge Fell. The run is relatively flat compared the the bike ride\, it’s 8k out and back on road and should be enough to make you feel happy about reaching the finish line. We get a lot of novices taking part in this event\, but it is more challenging than some of our other sprint triathlon events. This tropical race features clear ocean waters\, a smooth\, undulating bike course\, and shaded run. \nThe race will start with a 1.5 kilometre swim on the beachfront of The Westin Desaru Coast Resort. Athletes will swim one lap in a clockwise direction under a rolling start process. The swim will be a non-wetsuit swim with the water temperature hovering around 28C – 29C. \nThe out and back 1 loop\, undulating bike course will head out towards Desaru Coast Riverside and then turn right at Jalan Kampung Punggol and cycle straight through the Penawar Roundabout. Once reaching the Tanjung Balau roundabout\, athletes will go straight out to the far turnaround point at the northern end of the bike course\, athletes will then head back to the Tanjung Balau roundabout where they will return straight through the Penawar Roundabout and turn left into Jalan Desaru to return to transition. \n1.5km Swim \n40km Bike \n10km Run \nThe mostly flat\, out and back 1 loop run course will circle around the perimeter of the The Els Club Desaru Coast – Ocean Course\, offering some welcome shade in places. DESCRIPTION:The West Lancs Triathlon takes place from Edge Hill University\, which provides the perfect venue. This is one of the most highly rated events for first timers in the North West. All abilities take part including some of the region’s elite competitors\, but the event has really made it’s name as the perfect first time challenge. \nThe 400m swim takes place in the brand new pool facility\, the 18.5k cycle is a flat\, 3 lap course and the 5k run takes in the trails around campus before finishing on the running track to the cheers of your family and other supporters. It’s always a great day and it always fills quickly! \nWhat do I need to enter the event? \n\nA roadworthy bike (mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable) and recognised cycle helmet.\nYou must be medically sound and if you have any history of illness or injury\, consult your GP beforehand.\nYou must be 15 years of age in the event year. The lapping cycle course is on wide main roads with long stretches to get some good speed up and and the lapping run course perfect for spectators.
