SUMMARY:Challenge Wanaka Aquabike
DESCRIPTION:The Aquabike race is back for 2020. Challenge yourself with a 3km swim and 120km bike. \n  \n\n\nSwim Leg – 3km\nView map \nThe swim course is set for Roy’s Bay in Lake Wanaka \nThe two-lap swim is in the sheltered part of Roy’s Bay in Lake Wanaka within easy view of spectators watching from the shore. The course has a beach start swimming in an anti-clockwise direction with a total of three turn buoys. \nLake Wanaka is the warmest lake in the Southern Lakes and is a popular choice for a large range of water sports each summer. The swim course is in crystal clear water so clean you can drink it. \n\n\n\n\nBike Leg – 120km \nView map \nThe 120km bike is over one lap and takes in two of the alpine lakes in the Southern Lakes region\, with an out and back leg to make up the distance. \nThe course heads out of town winding round the edge of Lake Wanaka towards Mt Aspiring National Park\, reaching the Hospital Flat turnaround point at 17km and heading back to the township. After passing through the main race area and crowds of spectators the course turns left alongside the lake and then up Aubrey Road into Albert Town. Turning left out of Albert Town you’ll then be taken on an undulating ride to Lake Hawea. After a ride along the Hawea lakefront the course heads to Hawea Flat followed by a short climb to the terraces and then a steep descent to the Clutha River.  Before reaching the Red Bridge\, a sharp left hand turn takes you out towards Tarras for 15km where a U-turn takes you back to the Red Bridge. After crossing the Red Bridge you will turn right at Luggate. Competitors will climb to Wanaka Airport and then left onto Mt Barker Road\, winding through beautiful countryside\, onto Riverbank Road and right at Orchard Road for the final 5km downhill and back to transition where you will rack your bike and run 100 metres to the finish. \n\n\n\n\nAid Stations\nAid stations on the bike course will be approximately 20km apart. These will have bike bottles with PURE electrolyte drink or water in them. Peak Fuel bars\, PURE Gels and bananas will also be available from aid stations at all times\, along with hydration from PURE. Coke is available on the final two aid stations. Please make sure you train on these products prior to the race so you know how they work for you – everyone is different. \n\n\n\n\nDrafting\nIf you are caught drafting you will be penalised and/or disqualified as per the Triathlon NZ regulations. DESCRIPTION:The EPIC Fire Fighters ‘2UP’ Duathlon is a unique event which takes place in conjunction with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue. It’s known locally as the ‘start of season social race’ but there’s nothing particularly ‘social’ about the course! The format is simple\, you choose a friend or race partner and stick together throughout the run / bike / run. On the bike you are allowed to work as a pair\, by ‘drafting’ each other\, but not with other teams. The 4 miles trail run is a tough start and end to the race\, with a hilly 25 mile in between\, to make sure you finish with a grimace on your face. The Wee Triathlon has been put together in a way that it has only one quick transition\, the one between the bike and run\, so is even more suited to those just starting out on their multi-sport journey as you get a rest between your swim and cycle! \nThe Wee Triathlon is a pool-based triathlon involving a 400m swim\, a 10-mile bike ride on a mixture of tar\, forest track and footpath in Glen Nevis and a 3-mile cross country run on varied terrain similar to the bike route. \nOur aim is to encourage everyone to experience the wonderful world of triathlon and make it fun and rewarding for all participants. We have been running The Wee Triathlon for 15 years\, it really is a favourite with experienced triathletes and with those new to multi sport it really is the ideal triathlon for the terrified first-timer who wants to join the multi-sport family. Please remember that although the thought of it may be terrifying\, a triathlon needn’t be! If this is going to be your first triathlon\, we think you will love this format\, we are sure this is the best one to ease you into the world of multi-sport events. \nSWIM\n400m pool swim –  Swim starts 0830 . The swim will be on a first come first start basis . \nYou will use your timing chip to start and stop your swim time. The transition from swim to bike will NOT be timed! \n  \nOFF ROAD CYCLE\nAfter you have changed into bike clothing make your way to the Old Nevis Bridge . \nThe bike section will be open from 1000 \, you will use your timing chip to start your bike time.\nThe bike section is approximately 10 mile of both on and off road cycling.  The route is on fire road and tarred road.  Mountain\, hybrid and cyclocross bikes are suitable. SUMMARY:Clitheroe Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The Clitheroe Triathlon is a challenging course set in the Ribble Valley. It starts with a 400m pool swim\, but the real fun starts on the bike as the 30k ride is ‘lumpy’ and includes the climb up Birdy Brow\, onto Longridge Fell. The run is relatively flat compared the the bike ride\, it’s 8k out and back on road and should be enough to make you feel happy about reaching the finish line. We get a lot of novices taking part in this event\, but it is more challenging than some of our other sprint triathlon events. SUMMARY:5I50 Triathlon Desaru Coast
DESCRIPTION:Located on the east coast of Malaysia\, the beach town of Desaru has long been an easily accessible getaway for vacationers. This tropical race features clear ocean waters\, a smooth\, undulating bike course\, and shaded run. \nThe race will start with a 1.5 kilometre swim on the beachfront of The Westin Desaru Coast Resort. Athletes will swim one lap in a clockwise direction under a rolling start process. The swim will be a non-wetsuit swim with the water temperature hovering around 28C – 29C. \nThe out and back 1 loop\, undulating bike course will head out towards Desaru Coast Riverside and then turn right at Jalan Kampung Punggol and cycle straight through the Penawar Roundabout. Once reaching the Tanjung Balau roundabout\, athletes will go straight out to the far turnaround point at the northern end of the bike course\, athletes will then head back to the Tanjung Balau roundabout where they will return straight through the Penawar Roundabout and turn left into Jalan Desaru to return to transition. \n1.5km Swim \n40km Bike \n10km Run \nThe mostly flat\, out and back 1 loop run course will circle around the perimeter of the The Els Club Desaru Coast – Ocean Course\, offering some welcome shade in places.
