SUMMARY:Dormouse Challenge
DESCRIPTION:What’s a 6 hour event?\nIt is an event that enables all abilities of runner to run together (or hike/walk!). Ultimately you can run as many 5k laps as you wish in the time limit. You can run one lap in 20 minutes\, pick up your medal and Big Bear drink and go home! Alternatively you can head out on your 15th lap at 14:55 and finish in 6:30 having covered over 50 miles! It’s completely up to you. \nThere is no pressure from us\, but we’ll also see if you want one more lap! The format is great for people looking to run further than they’ve ever done before\, do a long training run for future events or to enjoy a sociable event with your friends. \nWhere is it?\nSalcey Forest is a Forestry England site with a café and toilets near Northampton. Use the post code NN7 2HX for Sat Navs . It is here  on What 3 Words. \nYou do have to pay to park (we’ve negotiated a special offer of £3.50 for the day! We’ll send emails out to entrants to make this happen).  That said\, be a hero and car share\, save money and the world! \nThe number 33 bus stops inside Salcey Forest (just after 9am) and goes between Northampton and Milton Keynes. \nIt is 18 minutes from Northampton and 9 minutes from Junction 15 of the M1. The closest train station is Northampton. \nHow far is the race?\nYou decide! The 3.5-mile off-road loop means your race can be 5k or even over 80K and anywhere in between. You decide how many laps you’re going to do on the day within the 6-hour time limit. If you’re looking to cover a marathon distance you’ll need to complete 7 laps (+ a little out and back) and a half marathon will be 4 laps (and a little long at 14 miles!). \nCourse description:\nThe route is along well maintained pathways. There isn’t a meter of asphalt and the pathways are mainly crushed stone or very well trodden open forest floor. Obviously being in the middle of a forest the narrower ones are covered in tree detritus and can become a bit muddy and grimy\, especially when wet. On a dry day road shoes will be perfectly acceptable\, on a wet day trail shoes may be a better bet as some parts can become a bit slippy. \nWhat does it cost?\nBefore 21/10/2025 £37 \nAfter 21/10/2025 £42 \nFor more information on the event and what’s included\, please click here.

And to kick off the season\, we’re taking on some old favourites alongside some brand new trails!\nThroughout the summer\, we’ll be taking on a series of small-group hikes\, led by our resident mountain leader-trainee\, through some of the most picturesque areas of the South and South East of the country. If you’ve never gone hiking before and want to give it a try with some like-minded people in a small group\, this is your chance! \n🗓 Saturday 23rd August – Rescheduled from July: Devil’s Dyke\, a 12-mile circular trail leading up to one of the finest views in South East England\, with some steep ascents and descents\, alongside stiles\, fences\, and farmland to walk through. We’ll be taking some of the ascents slowly\, but overall\, it’s a moderately challenging trail. \n🕒 Time: 10 am – 6 pm \n  \n🚆 How It Works 🚆 \nOnce you sign up\, we’ll send you the details or where we’ll meet\, what time\, and what to bring with you. We’ll also send you information on exactly which train ticket/s to purchase\, so that we’re able to travel together. After the hike\, we’ll reimburse everyone at least £10 against the cost of their journey. However\, it is up to you to purchase the correct train ticket in advance. \n  \n🌿 Upcoming Hikes 🌿: \n23rd August: Devil’s Dyke \n6th September: Devil’s Punchbowl \n12th – 14th September: TBC \n  \n🌟 Wanna take a walk on the wild side? Reserve your spot today! 🌟 \n  \nImportant:\n🔒 Spaces are limited\, so please only sign up if you’re certain you can attend. If you can no longer make it\, kindly cancel your spot or inform us so we can offer it to someone else. 🙏🏽 \n  \n♿️ Accessibility: The walks include considerable gradients with some steep ascents and descents\, over marked and clear but at times\, unpaved paths. There are some stiles and gates\, and parts of the walk may be muddy. Toilets are usually available at cafes and pubs along the way\, but these facilities may not be accessible or gender-neutral. \n  \n💜 We like to keep the events free so they are easily accessible to our communities! If you want to donate\, please use this link. \n  \n💜Spaces at our events are limited and there is a cost implication for all the events we produce or take you along to. Therefore\, it is very important and appreciated if you let us know when you can no longer attend an event so we can offer your spot to someone else. \n  \n💜 Alongside this\, we appreciate it if you could respond to any communication by the given response deadline so we can make the necessary arrangements for the event. \n  \n💜 By signing up to this event\, you accept being added to The Love Tank’s newsletter. You can opt out at anytime.

SUMMARY:Dawn2Dusk - Virtual Event - Running or Cycling - 3 Person Team Event
DESCRIPTION:What: \nThis is a team event. A team consists of three people only. You must enter your team into one of two disciplines. These are; \n– On Foot (running/walking)\n– Cycling \nYour team cannot mix disciplines (ie if you enter your team ‘On Foot’\, none of your team can cycle and vice versa). \nYou and your team must then see how many kilometers you can clock up between dawn and dusk. For the purposes of making this inclusive to all those around the world\, the start and finish times are set at 06:00 (6am) and 18:00 (6pm)\, wherever you are taking on the challenge. You have 12 hours to go as far as you can. Your total distance will be the sum of the distance covered by all three of your team members. \nExample: \nStefan\, Mary and Jan cover 22km\, 45km and 92km on foot. Their total distance and the one submitted to Ultra X will be 159km. \nWhen: \n #Dawn2Dusk will take place on Saturday 13th March 2021. \nAs this is a truly global challenge we want to ensure that as many people around the planet can take part. The challenge is from dawn to dusk!
