SUMMARY:Solway Coast Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The route starts and finishes at The White Heather Hotel. This course is best described as one of the flattest marathon courses in the UK and is a must for anyone looking for a PB. The roads are quiet country roads and very flat. The course takes you on a 5 mile loop through Kirkbride\, Newton Arlosh and back past the start where family and friends will be able to cheer you on and give the encouragement for 21 miles to come. This option has been designed for those who want to be part of the great community event but feel 21.1km is too far. The 5km is ideally suited for walkers or the very young with their parents. Results will be available on the day from the BlueChip Timings and the WAMC website. Attach the race bib to the front of the body only\, by pinning the bib in the holes at the four corners. Please make sure that the race bib is kept flat and not folded or crumpled. The race bib is allocated to the person nominated on the entry form and is non-transferable to another person. The race bib must remain in its issued form.\nIF YOU TURN UP WITHOUT YOUR RACE BIB (LOST OR LEFT HOME) THERE WILL BE A $10.00 SURCHARGE TO HAVE ANOTHER RACE BIB ISSUED. \nBIB COLLECTION\nBib collection will be from the WAMC clubrooms – 1 Camfield Drive\, Burswood 6100. The collection will be held on Saturday\, August 1 between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.\nThere will be NO registrations taken after 12 noon on Thursday\, July 30. \nAWARDS\nThe awards presentation will be held at WAMC Clubrooms at approximately 10.30 am\n \nDRAW PRIZES\nBy just finishing the 21.1km or 5km event and attending the awards ceremony\, you are eligible to win some fantastic draw prizes. Your attendance (not someone else holding your race number) is necessary to qualify. \nHEALTH & SAFETY\nEntrants must not take pets on the run. Skateboards\, roller-skates/rollerblades or similar devices\, are strictly forbidden due to the risk of injury to participants. Be aware we may not have exclusive use of some of the shared paths.\nAll runners will assemble in the advised start area by foot and obey Police and Officials’ directions whilst awaiting the official start.\nTo ensure your safety and that of everyone else in the race\, the use of headphones or any musical device is strongly discouraged. Any use of headphones is a safety hazard since such use may compromise a participant’s ability to hear critical safety and/or directional instructions\, especially instructions that may arise in an emergency situation.\nThere are no prizes for running prams and we request all those pushing running prams not to be competitive\, start from the rear and enjoy the experience. Pushing through runners could lead to injuries.\nDehydration can be potentially lethal\, particularly if you overextend yourself in hot and/or humid conditions. However\, your body can still overheat even if climatic conditions are only moderate. Ensure you drink plenty of water throughout the day prior to the event and drink early in the event before you become thirsty. Stop to walk or at least slow down at drink stations to allow adequate rehydration. DO NOT compete if you have had diarrhoea within 48 hours prior to the event or are suffering from a viral infection or even feeling unwell.\nREMEMBER to also drink plenty of water after the event. If you feel distressed\, disorientated\, dizzy\, or excessively tired\, SLOW down or rest for a while. If you do not improve WITHDRAW.

DESCRIPTION:SWIM UNDER SWEDEN’S LARGEST WATERFALL\nBIKE THROUGH THE NORTHERN WILDERNESS\nAND FINISH ON TOP OF ÅRESKUTAN\n  \nBased out of Åre\, Swedeman is an official member of the XTRI World Tour. The XTRI family is growing and you can join too. The race offers this stunning course to the Swedish and international audience. Enter the 250 km distance triathlon before slots run  out. There are 250 slots available on a first come-first served basis. \n  \n\n\nSWIM:\nEncounter undercurrents and temperature changes to keep you alert and on your toes!\n3.8 kilometers in Öster-Noren\, finishing under Sweden’s largest waterfall. Average water temperature for August should be around 13 degrees Celsius. Athletes will run up a steep 400 m long track to access T1 above the waterfall. \n\n\n\n\nSWIM COURSE\n\n\n\n\nBIKE:\nThe road to the wilderness! Travel 205 kilometers from Tännforsen. along an incredible course with hill after hill after hill\, totaling nearly 2000m of ascent. You will likely encounter large wildlife including reindeer and moose so be careful out there! \n\n\n\n\nBIKE COURSE\n\n\n\n\n\nRUN:\nApprox 2000 metres of ascent\, tough terrain and some fabulous views.\nFrom T2 the run starts on a short section of gravel road before turning west onto forest paths and technical trails on the south side of Totthummeln towards Åre village.\nClimbing up towards Lillskutan you will run above the tree line for the first time during the run. This section has some fantastic singletrack that will allow for great views if the weather is clear. In the distance\, in northwest\, you can see the finish line just below Åreskutan. But that’s for later! There can be fields of snow on the trail or right next to it\, which can make for\nan icy run. On the top of Lillskutan the course turns east and then keeps climbing north on a snowmobile track. \nThe last 10 kilometres you will need to be accompanied by your support runner – it is steep and you will be tired. \nThe total climb from T2A to the top of Åreskutan is 1000 meters. Passing the top of Åreskutan and\nToppstugan\, the tiny waffle house\, may give you a view over Åre village below and the mountain ranges in the distance\, if the weather cooperates. DESCRIPTION:Open Water Swim Adventure Event organised by Pete Wilby Triathlon. \nThe BELL ROCK SWIM ADVENTURE is a fantastic season opener. A real rugged bit of coastline and a visit to the places you simply can’t get to without a boat. The beauty of this short 2km adventure is that you are in the water with some amazing sights. You will be swimming with seals and small fish and will likely see shrimps\, lobsters and shellfish along the bottom. \nThe route begins at Maidencombe beach (a pay and display carpark is at the top of the cliffs. There is a five-minute walk down the steps to the beach). You will meet the team on the beach where we will stow on the boat’s your small essentials such as flip flops a warm top and drinks. Before getting in we will provide a short safety briefing and route plan. \nThe swim heads out and around the rocky outcrops\, staying close to the shore and picking up a heading on Bell Rock (named for its shape). You will find a small channel around the back of the rock\, just wide enough to swim through. The route goes past Watcombe beach and then we get the chance to peer into Watcombe caves. The epic SWIM ADVENTURE finishes at Oddicombe beach\, which can be easily recognised for its Victorian style and venicular railway going up the cliff. \nAfter arriving at Oddicombe\, all swimmers will be offered a warm drink before we take the boats back to Maidencombe where the adventure began. \n
