SUMMARY:The South West Coast Path Trail Running Challenge
DESCRIPTION:THE SOUTH WEST COAST PATH CHALLENGE TRAIL RUNNING CHALLENGE \nThe South West Coast Path Challenge (formerly known as the Head to Head Trail Running Challenge) returns for year four\, with a marathon as well as the half marathon and 12K. \n\nThe 12K takes you out of East Soar and over the rolling fields towards Bolberry\, with views as far as the eye you head up to Bolberry Down and follow the incredible coastal path back towards Bolt Head at Salcombe. SUMMARY:Clitheroe Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The Clitheroe Triathlon is a challenging course set in the Ribble Valley. It starts with a 400m pool swim\, but the real fun starts on the bike as the 30k ride is ‘lumpy’ and includes the climb up Birdy Brow\, onto Longridge Fell. The run is relatively flat compared the the bike ride\, it’s 8k out and back on road and should be enough to make you feel happy about reaching the finish line. We get a lot of novices taking part in this event\, but it is more challenging than some of our other sprint triathlon events. DESCRIPTION:Located on the east coast of Malaysia\, the beach town of Desaru has long been an easily accessible getaway for vacationers. This tropical race features clear ocean waters\, a smooth\, undulating bike course\, and shaded run. \nThe race will start with a 1.5 kilometre swim on the beachfront of The Westin Desaru Coast Resort. Athletes will swim one lap in a clockwise direction under a rolling start process. The swim will be a non-wetsuit swim with the water temperature hovering around 28C – 29C. \nThe out and back 1 loop\, undulating bike course will head out towards Desaru Coast Riverside and then turn right at Jalan Kampung Punggol and cycle straight through the Penawar Roundabout. Once reaching the Tanjung Balau roundabout\, athletes will go straight out to the far turnaround point at the northern end of the bike course\, athletes will then head back to the Tanjung Balau roundabout where they will return straight through the Penawar Roundabout and turn left into Jalan Desaru to return to transition. \n1.5km Swim \n40km Bike \n10km Run \nThe mostly flat\, out and back 1 loop run course will circle around the perimeter of the The Els Club Desaru Coast – Ocean Course\, offering some welcome shade in places. SUMMARY:West Lancs Spring Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The West Lancs Triathlon takes place from Edge Hill University\, which provides the perfect venue. This is one of the most highly rated events for first timers in the North West. All abilities take part including some of the region’s elite competitors\, but the event has really made it’s name as the perfect first time challenge. \nThe 400m swim takes place in the brand new pool facility\, the 18.5k cycle is a flat\, 3 lap course and the 5k run takes in the trails around campus before finishing on the running track to the cheers of your family and other supporters. It’s always a great day and it always fills quickly! \nWhat do I need to enter the event? \n\nA roadworthy bike (mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable) and recognised cycle helmet.\nYou must be medically sound and if you have any history of illness or injury\, consult your GP beforehand.\nYou must be 15 years of age in the event year. DESCRIPTION:Standard\, Sprint and Supersprint event\, pool swim with individual starts in a ‘snake swim’ style. The lapping cycle course is on wide main roads with long stretches to get some good speed up and and the lapping run course perfect for spectators. DESCRIPTION:The swim course is set for Flowing Lake in TaiTung.\nThe two-lap swim is in a man-made reservoir with easy views for spectators to watch from the shore. The course starts from a pontoon in an anti-clockwise direction with a total of two turn buoys. The average water depth for most of the course is 2.5m. The swim course is in crystal clear water from a natural spring and mild temperatures. \nThe following rules will apply to the swim:\nWetsuit: to be confirmed at race briefing.\nEvent swim cap: compulsory and is provided at registration check-in. \nTransition 1 (T1)\nExiting the swim course at Flowing Lake\, you will need to collect your T1 (swim to bike) bag and proceed to either the men’s or women’s changing tents. Once you have changed into your cycling gear\, please place all of your swim gear in your T1 bag and leave at the collection point. One of the Volunteers will collect your T1 bag which will be placed at your bike. Bikes will be pre-racked (by you) the day before the race in numerical order. Your helmet must be clipped on before unracking your bike\, and you must proceed on foot to exit T1 and head out onto the bike course. \n  \n\nBIKE – 180km​\n\n \n\nThe 180km bike is set on an undulating two-lap course which heads north between the soaring Carp Mountains and spectacular Pacific Ocean coastline.\nThe course heads out of town over ZhongHua bridge and hits the coast shortly after XiaoYeLiu. After which it continues along Taiwan’s beautiful east coast rolling through Doulan and turning around BaWonWon to head back to TaiTung city to then turnaround for a second lap. \nAid Stations\nAid stations on the bike will be approximately 20km apart. These will have bike bottles with sports drink or water in them. Energy bars\, salty snacks and bananas will also be available from specific aid stations. \nDrafting\nIf you are caught drafting you will be penalized and/or disqualified. Please attend the Race Briefing for clarification on our drafting rules. \nTransition 2 (T2)\nOnce you come to the end of the bike\, you must dismount before you enter T2 and walk your bike to your numbered rack. You must once again collect your T2 bag (bike to run) and proceed back to the men’s or women’s change tents to prepare for the run. Once again\, put all of your cycling gear in your T2 bag and leave it at the collection point where our staff will collect it and place it at your bike after the race. \n\n\nRUN – 42.2km​\n\nThe run combines the cultural heart of Taitung city with the beautiful Pipa Lake Park\, the surrounding tranquil rice fields and orchards and vibrant ocean promenade.\nAid Stations\nAid stations will be positioned approximately every 2.5km on the run. We want to run self-sufficient so if you have a backpack you run in for water and food then bring it along. \nHALFWAY POINT – TOWER BRIDGE: \nIf you want to join us at half way for the second 13.1 miles to the finish we will be at Tower Bridge at 4:45am. SUMMARY:Kirkbride Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The route starts and finishes close to The White Heather Hotel. This course is best described as flat and is a must for anyone looking for a PB. The roads are quiet country roads and very flat with one small climb that gives you a nice downhill run towards the finish. Course will surprise you with large variety of architecture styles like: Medieval\, Gothic\, Renaissance\, Baroque\, Modernist\, Soviet era and modern times. \n \ninviting all active people from all over the world\, not only to participate in the race but also to discover an amazing\, historical city of Kaunas. \nYou may choose the prestige marathon distance\, half marathon\, 10 km\, 5 km and 1.5 km – fun family run. \nCheer on friends and family members as they take on the challenge. Enjoy the day with various events\, concerts\, fairs makeing this running event a big city fest! \n \nThe event organizers are trying to increase the number of professional athletes competing in annual Kaunas Marathon. Therefore additional 600 euro money prize is dedicated for the new marathon course record and 400 euro for half-marathon course record.
