SUMMARY:Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & Half Marathon 2018
DESCRIPTION:Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & Half Marathon\nThe streets of the Phoenix-Scottsdale-Tempe area — often called the “Valley of the Sun” — are expected to fill with as many as 30\,000 runners\, walkers and wheelchair athletes with the 15th annual running of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & Half Marathon\, which sees more than 15\,000 runners cross the finish line in just the half marathon each year. \nAfter years of running a point-to-point course that started in downtown Phoenix and finished in nearby Tempe on the campus of Arizona State University\, the route was completely redesigned a couple of years ago to feature an out-and-back loop that starts and finishes near the ASU campus\, and takes runners through Tempe and north into Scottsdale\, where they’ll cross the Salt River twice and head through both Eldorado Park and a long stretch through Papago Park. \nLike all of the “Rock & Roll”-themed running events\, the Arizona race will also feature live bands playing music throughout the course\, stationed roughly every other mile\, along with cheerleading squads from local high schools and thousands of local spectators out to cheer on runners around the course. The race finish line will lie in the parking lot on the ASU campus\, just outside Sun Devil Stadium. \nConsidered an excellent race for first-time marathoners and half-marathoners\, thanks to its largely fast and flat course — the race follows a very gradual overall uphill from the start to about the mile 10 marker\, and gains only about 150 feet in elevation throughout the first 10 miles of the half marathon — the Rock & Roll Arizona race also features a relay race for two-person teams. \nNote that the full marathon will not share the same starting line as the half marathon; while the half marathon will start within the Arizona State University campus along Mill Avenue and 3rd Street\, the full marathon will start at CityScape in downtown Phoenix\, near West Washington Street and 3rd Street. \nRunners in the half marathon will have 4 hours to complete their 13.1 miles\, while those running the full marathon will have a 7-hour time limit on the course. \nDue to the popularity of this event’s half marathon\, organizers have adopted a wave start to allow plenty of room for all runners at the starting line and along the course throughout the race. The starting time for each won’t begin until the shoe chip crosses the starting line. \nFees\n$80 for the half marathon\n$90 for the full marathon\n$40 for the 5K\n$50 for the 10K

SUMMARY:Chombueng Marathon 2018
DESCRIPTION:Chombueng Marathon 2018\nThe The Marathon\, Half marathon and Mini marathon will be held on Sunday 21st January 2018 at Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University. \nAbout Chombueng Marathon\nChombueng Marathon has been accepted by health-concerned runners across the country. The event was initiated in 1985 by a group of instructors of Chombueng Village Institute as they had particular interest in running for health\, with Acharn Narong Tiammek and Acharn Somjit Sangapun as the initiators. At that time\, there were less than 100 participants. The registration fee was 20 baht per person. Numbers of running were made from raw cotton and were written with oil colors. \nThe running distance was 10 km.\, starting at Khao Bin Cave and ending at Jom Pol Cave. From that day on\, the small running event in Chombueng was held regularly in the third week of January until it has become a tradition of Chombueng inhabitants as well as runners for health all over the country as per the remarks stated that “Those who have never run at Chombueng\, they are not genuine runners.” Since 1992 on\, numbers of participants increased more than 5\,000 every year\, and that was quite a lot that time. Then\, in 1989\, 21.1 km. was added to the event\, and thus the name of the event was changed to “Chombueng Half Marathon.” \nIn 1999\, the year that H.M. the King reached 72 years of age\, the race committee determined another new race distance at 42.195 km. which led to the name revision as “Chombueng Marathon”\, which has been called up until present. \nA large number of runners regard Chombueng Marathon as the prototype of running race\, because its party among athletes on Saturday evening before the race on the next day. Because a lot of runners have to travel there and stay overnight\, and are not convenient to go out for dinner\, the mentioned party impress everyone joining the event. \nThai Health Promotion Foundation (Thai Health) has been the main supporter of Chombueng Marathon continually since 2001.
