The Family Swim Holidays 2019 will take place at the fabulous world renowned BEST Centre\, in the beautiful town of Colònia Sant Jordi\, on the southern tip of Mallorca where you will stay just minutes from some of Europe’s most stunning beaches. \nThe swim holiday is designed for swimmers aged 6-18 years old\, who are used to training regularly with a swim team\, (please email us if you have any questions). The holiday will cater for all levels of swimmer from club swimmer to international standard. \nFACILITIES \nThe Pool\nThe centrepiece of The BEST Centre is our outdoor Olympic-sized training pool. The 10 lane\, 50m pool (50m x 25m x 2m) is a free-standing pool from Astra\, who supply the competition pools for the FINA world championships. \nThe Gym\nWe know that a well equipped gym is essential for a successful training camp\, so we have an on-site gym fully equipped and dedicated to swimming. We also have two large areas suitable for land work\, and plenty of space around the pool for stretching. Our state of the art facilities at The BEST Centre attract individuals and teams from across the world. More specifically\, we have welcomed 1000s of different swimming\, water polo\, triathlon and synchronised swimming teams from 38 countries worldwide. The combination of our facilities and the peacefulness of Colònia make for the perfect training camp – good enough for the very BEST! \nWHAT TO EXPECT\n“Our goal for each athlete is to have fun\, learn\, meet new friends\, and take a great attitude about their sport back to his or her home club.” \nWHAT’S INCLUDED\nThe swim holiday will be run by British Olympic swimmers and former British record holders as well as ASA qualified coaches. The holiday will comprise of 9 x 2 hour swimming sessions for 7 day holidays and 13 x 2 hour swim sessions for the 10 day holiday\, accompanied by dry land and stretching exercises. \nThe focus will be on:\n» Technique work.\n» Kicking.\n» Starts and turns.\n» Breakouts.\n» And having the most fun you can possibly have in a week of swimming. \nWhen the children are training\, parents are free to do their own thing and explore some of the beautiful sights of the island\, or sit in the sun and watch your children train. Parents will also have the opportunity to use the pool and the gym\, free of charge whilst the kids train! \nAlthough this is a swim holiday\, we offer so much more! As you can see on the itineraries\, outside of training we have a fun-filled schedule with lots of fun activities\, along with plenty of free time to relax as a family. \nWHAT TO BRING\nAll swimmers will need to bring fins and snorkel. Either bring your own if you have it\, or please order your kit from us and it will be waiting for you on your arrival. We recommend and sell Finis Zoomers or Z2\, and Finis snorkels. We have plenty of kick boards and pull buoys so there is no need to bring them. SUMMARY:Bloodwise Blenheim Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, it welcomes over 7\,500 participants of all ages and abilities to swim\, bike and run around the spectacular route. Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Bloodwise Blenheim Triathlon is opening for its 15th years and is the 2nd largest triathlon in the UK. There are tons of options available to race. From a Super Sprint (400m swim\, 13.2km cycle\, 2.9km run) to Sprint (750m swim\, 19.8km cycle\, 5.4km run). \n  \nStarting with a swim in the Great Lake\, the competitors then enter the ‘transition’ area in the Great Court where they collect their bikes for the cycling section around the Park. The bikes are then returned to the Great Court and their run begins around the Queen Pool with the finish on the road leading away from the Palace. The course is alongside the competitors’ village where you will be able to find food and further amenities. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can enter as an individual in any of the 3 distances or as part of a Team Relay in the Sprint distance category. SUMMARY:GEMS Kids Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The First annual GEMS Kids Triathlon will be held on Sunday\, June 9\, 2019. The event format will be pool swim\, on-campus bike course\, and on-campus run course. There will be four age groups from 6 to 14 years old. We will have participation awards\, T-shirts\, goody bags\, and age-group awards. \nThis is an opportunity for your young athlete to participate in an enjoyable life-experience through athletics. It is not structured as a highly competitive event. Rather\, we want it to encourage self-confidence\, good health\, and community spirit through participation. \nAs an event that is sanctioned by USATriathlon\, we are required to follow their rules. One of these rules governs age. This means our event is open to kids ages 6 to 14. However\, it is not quite that simple. USAT does not go by the age of the athlete on race day. Instead\, your triathlon age is your age as of 12/31 of the current year. \nFor our 2019 event\, this means that all kids will race at their age as of 12/31/19. For example\, if your child was born during October 2009\, they will be 10 on race day\, however\, they will actually be an 10 year-old triathlete for all of 2019. \nThis is not really that big of a deal once you understand it. However\, it does impact a few different groups of kids. \nFirst\, all kids born in 2013 are eligible to participate (assuming they can swim 25 yards safely; bike without training wheels; and run). For example\, we will have many kids who are actually 5 on race day. However\, they are 6 year-old triathletes because they will turn 6 before the end of the year. \nSecond\, kids born in 2004 are not eligible to participate. There will be some kids who are 14 on race day\, but they will turn 15 before the end of 2019.

DESCRIPTION:The Wales Triathlon Cymru has become a favourite amongst athletes of all abilities. The middle distance course is fairly fast\, with a very sheltered out and back swim in Fishguard bay. The bike leg starts with a very fast rolling road into and around St Davids\, then turns back towards Mathry\, before heading into St Davids for the final time and straight back to Fishguard. \nThe run has two real hills\, the rest is very fast and flat\, and is stunning as it follows the coastal path. The sprint event follows parts of the same course. We have camping available onsite for you to make a weekend out of it.

SUMMARY:The Big Five Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The wildest of them all\nThe Big Five Marathon is an exclusive event that combines a challenging marathon experience with a classic African safari vacation.\nThe Big Five Marathon in South Africa is held among the wildlife of the African savannah. Runners from all over the world will meet in one of the most spectacular Big Five game reserves in Africa. \nIn these magnificent surroundings\, we combine exciting game drives with a challenging marathon route going right through the habitat of the most famous African game: Elephant\, Rhino\, Buffalo\, Lion and Leopard. \nNo fences\, no rivers\, nothing at all separates the runners from the African wildlife! \n \nRace Info\nThe Big Five Marathon features a classic 42.195km marathon and a half marathon. The distances are colour coded – marathon is black and half marathon is red. Marathon and half marathon – Minimum 18 years old on race day. \n\nRoute description\n\nThe Big Five Marathon is known for its challenging course\, which takes runners through incredible scenery and showcases the natural beauty and wildlife of South Africa. \nThe start and finish line are situated at Lakeside Lodge on the upper escarpment. After the start\, the marathon and half marathon routes take the runners past Ravineside Lodge\, the Entabeni Monolith and further on to the lower plateau. This first section is run on dirt roads made up of red sand. Runners will pass a few hills (nothing too bad…the most challenging is yet to come!). And when you reach Hanglip View Point\, you backtrack and run back before you reach Yellow Wood Valley. Pay attention to this section as the surface is very uneven with loose rocks\, pebbles and holes. \nThe Yellow Wood Valley is the most dreaded part of the course. You are about to run down the steepest slope of your life! This sharp descent is on a paved surface. The next three kilometres or so will be excruciatingly hard on your quads as you negotiate the steep slope. You reach lion country after the descent. And\, although the next nine kilometres are flat\, you’re running through deep sand. Full marathoners do a 9km loop\, whereas half marathon runners run a 2km loop. \n\n \n  \n\nThis brings us back to Yellow Wood. And yes\, you guessed correctly – we’re going up the dreaded hill this time! Be prepared to take things slowly as it’s virtually impossible to run up this hill. \nThe route carries on to Long Drive\, a narrow valley\, where marathon runners do a 6km loop. Half marathoners run across the valley and reach the final section of the route. This section is run on dirt trails\, a welcome respite from the deep sand and loose stone terrain earlier on. \nThe end of the run is fairly hard (final four kilometres). We run halfway down the ridge\, which provides us with a wonderful view out over the plateau’s lake. The surface is fairly bad\, consisting of hard uneven stony ground with plenty of large rocks and stones of all sizes. This final part has quite a few hills and as the surface is loose\, it pays to keep a careful watch on the ground as we run towards the finish. With the finish line in sight you can now take it nice and easy. \nThe weather is very dry\, sunny and cool at this time of the year. SUMMARY:Leeds Castle Junior Aquathlon
DESCRIPTION:Leeds Castle will again host the Junior Aquathlon for children aged from 8 to 14 years old. \nThe categories will be TriStart (8yrs)\, TriStar 1 (9-10yrs)\, TriStar 2 (11-12yrs) and TriStar3 (13-14yrs). \nThe swim will take place in the beautiful moat surrounding the iconic Castle and the run will be across the stunning estate. For each child registered an accompanying adult can spectate the race for free and also enjoy the Castle\, grounds and attractions for the whole day. \nThe swim will be in the beautiful moat surrounding this iconic Castle\, the bike course will take you out into the surrounding area and then the finish will be the run course around the stunning Leeds Castle estate. \nThe Junior Aquathlon swim will be in the iconic Castle’s moat followed by a run within the Castle grounds. \nThe Triathlon and Junior Aquathlon run courses are both cross country\, around the estate grounds which includes a mixture of grass and paths on varying gradients \n  \n
