DESCRIPTION:Event dates \nRace 1 : 27th June\, Horowhenua- 10 am\nRace 2 : 25th July\, Wellington – 10 am\nRace 3 : 21st Aug\, Kapiti\, in the dark – 6.30 pm \nThe Dirt Duathlon Series is run by the Big Bang Adventure Charitable Trust\nWe were established in November 2010 and are registered with the Charities Commission. Our registration number is: CC45878. \nOur trust is comprised of 4 trustees who wanted to share their enthusiasm for the outdoors and who recognised a need in the community for adventure-based activities. Our aim is to allow access to the outdoors in a relatively controlled and safe environment. \nTogether we have a combined experience of over 60 years in the outdoor industry\, from managing an outdoor company in Scotland\, to owning one in New Zealand. We have extensive event management experience and have worked the white waters of Venezuela\, Colorado\, New Zealand\, Scotland and lead multi-pitch rock climbing & ice climbing. We have participated in and instructed kayaking\, windsurfing\, sailing\, open boating\, SUP’s\, bugging\, abseiling\, bridge swinging\, mountain biking\, hiking\, canyoning\, cliff jumping\, team building activities and any other activity that keeps us away from the office! \nWe welcome you to join us in our next adventure in the Dirt Duathlon adventure racing series. \nCheers \nCarrie\, Marty\, Pete and Si \nCheck out our other event the Big Bang Adventure Race\, a 6-9 hr adventure race in November each year.

DESCRIPTION:Southern Snowdonia Wales\,  Beach\, Mountain and Trails. 250km 5-day race. \nKnown to be the Most Beautiful Trail in the UK\, very mountainous with the longest day is a 65km run. There are technical terrains and the race finishes in Wales Coastal Park on day Five. \nBest of Wales\, UK racers don’t have to leave home. Climb up Cader Idris\, full marathon distance \nDay 3 mountain\, 700-meter summit at the start. This race happens in Summer which is an amazing time to race in the UK. \nUltra X Wales takes place in and around southern Snowdonia in western Wales. Snowdonia National Park was established in 1951 as the third national park in Britain and it contains the highest peaks in the United Kingdom outside of Scotland. \nThis unique and challenging course takes participants from the northern Cambrian mountains to southern Snowdonia\, following a number of famous trails – including the Glyndwr’s Way National Trail\, the Wales Coastal Path\, the Minffordd Path and the Cross Britain Path – as it weaves its way over the stunning lakes and mountains for which southern Snowdonia is famous\, including the Cadair Idris\, Rhinogydd and Aran Fawddwy ranges.

DESCRIPTION:You’ll need to bring a head torch for this epic event in Woodbury. There’s something for the whole family with mixed and fun sections on the course and multiple races on offer. So lace up your running shoes and start the year right at the Battle of Woodbury Common 2021. \nHow to enter\nTickets available until Fri Jan 14 2022 \nWhat’s included: \n– Finisher’s medal\n– Chip timing\n– Fully marked course\, including lights\n– Feed station\n– Bottled water for finishers\n– Category prizes \nRoute description\nThe flat and varied routes will take in the lovely surroundings of Woodbury Common and Bicton College. Although runners may encounter some mud\, most of the courses will be run on well-drained\, sandy soil\, allowing runners to enjoy their running on flat and reliable surfaces. All the races will occur in the dark\, creating a wonderful and unique experience for all competitors. The courses will all be well marked with poles\, arrows and flashing lights. \nKids 1k and 2k \nBoth races will take part exclusively within the grounds of Bicton College. \n5k \nThe 5k route is new for 2022\, and although 3k of this race will take place on the tarmac\, it is on tranquil country lanes where there will be little to no traffic. The race will be a combination of these on-road sections and a few grand and varied off-road areas. \n10k \nThe 10k has the same start and finish as the 5k\, with the extra distance coming from a complete loop of Woodbury Common\, which includes a fun single track section. Running the circle of the Common in the dark will be a wonderful\, immersive experience for everyone taking part. \nHalf Marathon \nRunners taking on the Half Marathon will complete two loops of the great 10k course. Supported by the staff at the prestigious RAF base\, you can use the runway as part of the Tour de Môn course. \nThe Kingud Flying Mile will be available for riders of the Mawr\, Canol and Bach. \nCut off times \nThere will be strict cut off times along the route. \n\nMawr Riders arriving at the junction to Llanfaelog (approx. 17 miles) after 09.20 will be directed onto the Tour Canol and Bach routes.\nCanol Riders arriving at the junction at the centre of Bodffordd\, where the Canol and Bach split (approx. 23.3 miles) after 10:30 will be directed onto the Tour Bach Route.\nKingud Flying Mile: A strict cut off time of 11:00 exists for the Flying Mile.
