SUMMARY:4 Peak Mountain Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Thule 4Peaks Mountain Challenge is a rugged 24 kilometres (15 mi) mountain skyline route for trail runners\, held every September since 2002 in the Witteberge 32 kilometres (20 mi) NNE of Ficksburg in South Africa’s Free State province near the Lesotho border.. \nA record field of 210 mountain runners tackled the route in 2010. The large number of entrants necessitated a start of 3 batches at 15 min intervals. Ryan Sandes\, the 2010 men’s winner\, set a new record time of 2h 41m 58s. Fit athletes complete the course in about 6hrs with the backmarkers finishing in about 9hrs. \nThis race exists to enlighten all those who think the Free State is that flat part on the N1 on your way to Cape Town.  Come and challenge yourself in with the unique and extreme 4Peaks mountain race.  The race’s home is in the picturesque Moolmanshoek Private Game Reserve.  This unique circle race runs along the tops of the Witteberg Mountain range that makes an unforgettable horse shoe that encloses the Moolmanshoek valley. \nThe race is hosted by the Nel family at Moolmanshoek.  Most athletes make the race a weekend affair with family and friends and added value like a breathtakingly beautiful mountain bike ride the day after the race.  Apart from these two races there are several hikes\, bird hides\, lots of game that can be viewed on horseback\, or from a horse cart or from a 4×4 game viewing vehicle \nThe route rates as extremely demanding\, but is made bearable by spectacular mountain scenery. DESCRIPTION:It’s time to head to the lion city of Singapore to experience a blend of culture and modern innovation while to race till the end. Any person doing so will be held responsible in case of an accident arising from or provoked by the other person during the race. The Organisers reserve the right to exclude both parties from future events.\n8.    The Organisers reserve the right to close registration before the said closing date should participation reaches its capacity before the said date.\n9.    Age category is determined by the participant’s age on 31 December 2018.\n10.    Participants below the age of 18 are required to seek parental/guardian consent and fill up the relevant indemnity declaration forms as deemed necessary by the Organisers upon online registration or in-person registration. Failing which\, the Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any participant.\n11.    Participants who opt to be matched agree to be matched according to selection criteria deemed fit by the Organiser. Disputes and appeals must be submitted to the Organiser in written form\, including electronic mail within 7 days of matching-result release. The Organisers reserve the right not to entertain any disputes or appeals 2 weeks before race day. \nSWIMMING\n1.    All participants must wear the Swim Cap & wrist tags provided by the Organisers.\n2.    Swim goggles may be worn.\n3.    All swimmers must have their bib numbers marked on their arms or legs\n4.    Fins\, paddles\, pool buoys\, snorkels or any other swimming aids are not allowed.\n5.    Wet suits are not allowed.\n6.    Support crews are not allowed. Any assistance\, other than medical aid received during the swim will result in immediate disqualification.\n7.    No persons other than the participants and officials are permitted in the swimming area.\n8.    Participants in difficulty shall signal by raising an arm to the escorting kayaks for assistance.\n9.    Once assistance is rendered\, the participant must retire from the competition. \nCYCLING\n1.    Participants must ensure that their Bib Numbers are clearly visible on their adorned apparel at all times.\n2.    No bare torso is allowed at all times.\n3.    Participants are to ride in single file on the left side of the road except when passing another participant and are reminded to observe traffic rules at all times.\n4.    All participants will be required to perform their own repairs if their bicycles should break down.\n5.    Support vehicles and crews are not permitted.\n6.    All participants must wear helmets from the time they remove their bicycle from the rack.\n7.    The helmet must stay on the participant’s head until he/she has placed his/her bicycle at the allocated spot on the bicycle rack.\n8.    It is the participants’ responsibility to ensure that their bicycles and bicycle brakes are in good working condition.\n9.    Wearing headphones is not allowed at all times. Communication or entertainment devices of any type are strictly prohibited during competition.\n10.    Drafting is NOT allowed. You are considered drafting when you are within 5 metres of another participant’s rear wheel or riding next to someone within 2 meters. \nRUNNING\n1.    Participants must wear their Bib Numbers clearly visible on their adorned apparel at all times.\n2.    Support vehicles or pacers are not allowed.\n3.    Participants must run on the designated path for the entire route. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.\n4.    No bare torso is allowed at all times. \nTRANSITION\n1.    Each participant must pack all his/her swim gear in his/her Bike Bag and all his/her bike gear in his/her Run Bag before exiting transition so as not to impede the safe movement of other participants.\n2.    No public nudity is allowed as any breach will result in disqualification.\n3.    Each participant must have the bike helmet securely fastened on their head prior to un-racking their bike to commence the bike leg.\n4.    Each participant must have their bike helmet securely fastened on their head until they have racked their bike prior to commencing the run leg.\n5.    Bikes must not be ridden in transition at any time \n  \nIMPORTANT: All information published on this website is subject to change or expiration without notice. While the inaugural edition introduced the exciting and challenging 64km ultra\, the second edition has been revamped to become a trail marathon event. Offering runner 4 different race categories. \nThe race will start and finish at Singapore’s favourite trail running haven\, MacRitchie Reservoir. The 4 race routes consists of 90 to 95% trails covering officially designated hiking trails\, both old and new\, at MacRitchie Reservoir and its surrounding vicinity. All 4 race routes do not involve any multi-looped courses! They are all single continuous runs. Say goodbye to those trail races that make you run loops after loops! DESCRIPTION:What is SwimRun?\n\n\nParticipants traverse through a pre-marked course in nature alternating between running and swimming. Swim legs may consist of long open ocean swims\, rocky rivers or crystal-clear lakes while runs are on anything from roads\, fire trails\, technical rock scrambles or whatever nature puts in front of you.
