Come to soak in the atmosphere of the Slateman 10 weekend or for the epic surroundings at the Quarryman 5km Trail Run! \nLocation\nLlanberis\, Caernarfon LL55\, UK\nStart times\n5k: 5:15 pm \nRoute information\nThe Quarryman 5k runs in conjunction with the Slateman weekend\, which hosts triathlon\, duathlon\, and swim events. Therefore\, this is a perfect opportunity for those supporting the above races who wish to get in on the action with a smaller race.\nFrom the get-go\, this Race takes runners on some challenging climbs. Starting with the infamous ‘zigzags’\, runners are taken up a slate mountain to incredible views.\nFrom here\, the route tackles forest trails to the top of the main climb at Vivian Quarry\, where the picturesque views will help you forget your tired legs. Then\, back along with some exciting steep descents\, runners will head past the Old Quarry Hospital and onto the final stretch for that photo finish.\nAfterwards\, enjoy the evening celebrations with all the weekend’s athletes. \nWhat’s included\n– Unique Finisher’s momentos\n– Chip-timed results\n– Distance-marked\n– Prizes for top 3 M/F finisher’s\n– Official event photography\n– Post-race food\n– On-course support\n– Great event village with food and drink \nBy Train\nDirect services (including Virgin Trains from London to Bangor) take you to the famous North Wales coastal destinations from most parts of Britain. Make inland connections via the Conwy Valley Line\, which runs through the Snowdonia National Park to Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Services from the Midlands through Shrewsbury and Machynlleth link up with the Cambrian Line.\nThe closest station to Llanberis is in Bangor\, which is just under 10 miles away. A taxi from here will cost approximately £20\, or the number 85 bus will take you from the station and cost between £3-£5. It is possible to cycle.\nThe Bangor to Llanberis bus timetable can be viewed here.\nBy Car\nThere’s easy access from the North West along the M65 and A55. Motorway links with the Midlands are good too\, and the same roads – the M6\, M5 and M1 – also bring Snowdonia within easy reach of the South of England.\nParking\nParking information will be available in the final race day instruction pack sent out before the event.\nBy Sea\nThere are ferry services that run regularly from Holyhead to Dublin. DESCRIPTION:Dirt Duathlon is a series like no other! We are made up of 3 mini adventure races (approx. 3 – 4 hrs. depending on how fast you are!) between June and August. You and your team can enter 1\, 2 or all three events. You train over winter. Why not race over winter too? \nIn teams of 2\, 3 4\, you can enter 1\, 2 or all three events on foot and bike\, experiencing the Big Bang Dirt Duathlon in the day or by night! \nRaces 1 and 2 will allow you to explore your adventure racing skills during daylight hours and progress in difficulty. Race 3 will test these skills to the max – in the dark! \nWe like to spread the love\, so the events are held between the Wellington\, Kapiti and Horowhenua regions. \n​\nWe know that’s how you like to roll to keep things easy. The day events will start at 10 am to have a lie-in. The night event will begin at 7 pm.

This will include all your necessary race numbers and your timing chip. \nAge Requirements\nCompetitors must be at least 17 years old to participate in the Olympic Triathlon and at least 15 to take part in the Super Sprint\, Sprint\, and Age Group Qualifier. \nCompulsory Kit\nYou must bring a wetsuit to the event\, and based on the water temperature; the wetsuit may be forbidden\, optional or mandatory. The water temperature will be measured on race day and communicated with everyone participating.\nForbidden above 22°C\nOptional between 22°C and 14°C\nMandatory below 14°C\nYou must bring your own bike and helmet; E-bikes and power-assisted bikes are not allowed\, but any other bike is\, including mountain bikes. \nCut-off Times\nOlympic: Swim cut-off: 50 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 10:00.\nSprint: Swim cut-off: 30 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 10:00.\nSuper Sprint: Swim cut-off: 20 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 10:00.\nWorld Triathlon Age Group Qualifier: Swim cut-off: 30 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 12:50. \nTransition\nTransition opens early on the morning of the event and closes no later than 45 minutes before the first wave starts.\nThe transition will only be open for racking on the day of the event. It is not possible to leave your bike overnight. You may not enter transition for any reason after the allocated time. \nBTF Membership\nIf you are not a member of the British Triathlon Federation\, your entry will include the cost of a day membership for £6.\nWorld Triathlon Age Group Qualifier\nYou will need to have a valid membership by 17:00\, three working days before. All routes offer beautiful views over the Mole Valley\, Ranmore Common\, and the North Downs\, and runners are welcome to run as quickly as possible or take their time and enjoy the wine sampling stations on the route.\nThe drinks stations are what separates this event from all the others. But\, not just any old drinks stations\, the last two along the route serve wine and food and soft drinks. DESCRIPTION:Ultra X 125 England takes place in the Peak District National Park\, an upland area characterised by vast green landscapes\, rounded hills\, plateaus\, valleys\, limestone gorges\, and gritstone escarpments. \nInhabited from the Mesolithic era\, the Peak District has a rich history of agriculture\, mining\, and quarrying\, and is now famous for its spectacular scenery\, spa towns\, caves\, and network of footpaths and cycling trails. With a huge variety of remote terrain\, challenging climbs\, and stunning upland scenery on offer\, the Peak District is one of the best trail running locations in the country. \nUltra X 50 England (50km single-stage race) takes place on the second day (Sunday) of Ultra X 125 England. Both races are held under full UK Athletics permit granted through the TRA. \n \nMEDAL RIBBONS\nAll finishers will receive a race medal. Different medal ribbons will be awarded based upon the finishing times outlined below. \nAs part of our Sustainability Policy\, the Green Ribbon will be awarded to the competitor that displays the highest commitment to reducing their environmental impact both in preparation for and during the race (as determined by the organisers).

SUMMARY:The Original Grim Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Grim Challenge 2022\nThe GRIM is one of the original muddy/trail/obstacle races with a history that dates back to 2003. After a COVID absence in 2020\, it bounced back strongly in 2021 with more than 1000 runners taking part in the event. It returns in 2022 in much the same format: the route takes you over Army vehicle testing ground in Aldershot with two distance options\, a main race 8-miler and a lighter version over a shorter 4-mile course. \nAlthough the GRIM is a tough trail race in which you will certainly find yourself at times cold\, wet and dirty\, it is not an obstacle race\, it’s a running event. We don’t build any ramps\, walls or swings on the course. All the obstacles are natural\, formed by tanks driving over the route or by incessant rain in the weeks leading up to the event. Of course\, at this stage\, we can’t guarantee the rain but it’s never let us down before! In a few places\, you will be crawling under cargo nets or wading though waist-high water. The distance may not sound daunting but don’t take this lightly\, on a cold December morning\, the GRIM is a challenge and you will think it aptly named when you have run it. \nWe also have a new charity partner… Combat Stress. \nCombat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For over a century\, it has helped former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)\, anxiety and depression. Today it provides specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict\, focusing on those with complex mental health issues. \nThe work it does is life-changing and often life-saving. We are delighted to be working and supporting the work Combat Stress at the GRIM Challenge. The spectacular mountain trails of the Copper Canyons found here are the home of the original ultra runners\, an indigenous tribe called the Tarahumara Indians\, famously featured in the book Born to Run. \n \nThe Tarahumara are otherwise known as the Ráramuri\, meaning “those who run fast”. Competitors will have a rare chance to find out the truth of this for themselves.

DESCRIPTION:It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas and slipping into that red and white suit for a little festive fun and exercise at the Denbies Santa Run 2022. This will be the fifth time we’ve organised the event at Denbies and it’s been popular since day one. \nWe are already looking forward to the spectacle of hundreds of red-suited\, bearded Santas weaving in and out of the vines. If you are worried that you might not have the right outfit for the event\, worry not because we provide the suits as part of the entry fee. It’s one size to fit all\, although there is also a children’s size suitable for kids under 10. If you have your own suit\, you are welcome to wear it and you can certainly add embellishment to the ones we provide. \nThe event is very much a Christmas Fun Run. It isn’t timed and while there are medals and numbers there are no prizes for being first across the line. The numbers are there to identify yourself in the post-race photos because strangely it’s hard to pick out one Santa from another behind the white beards. Free digital downloads of your post-race photos are included in the entry fee. What is also included in the entry fee is a post-run cup of mulled wine and a mince pie (with soft drink options for children). \nThe run is two laps of a 2.5K route which broadly follows a circular route out and around Denbies main building taking in parts of the North Downs Way on a mixed track of concrete\, dirt trails and grass. If you are worried your children won’t manage the full 5K you can do one lap and still earn the medal\, mulled wine and mince pie. The route may be a bit muddy under foot as parts of it are on the North Downs Way through a wooded seciton but is suitable for running buggies/ strollers. \nVenue: Denbies Wine Estate\, Dorking \nStart time: 10:30 am \nEntries close: Thursday 8th December or when the race reaches capacity. \nEntry Fee: Adults £27 / Children under 15 £15 \nEntry fee includes: \n– Santa suit\n– Finishers Medal\n– Mulled Wine or soft drink\n– Mince Pie\n– Free Parking\n– Free race photos \n   \n
