SUMMARY:Going Round in Circles
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to put the fun back into running!\n\nWelcome to Go Beyond Challenge’s ‘Going Round in Circles’ – the London Circle Line Challenge. As the name suggests\, the aim is to run between every underground station on the Circle Line (the yellow one!) – all 27 of them. \nEntrants can take part as a pairs relay team of two or individually if they fancy a bigger challenge. The race will start at the Gails Bakery next to Paddington Station\, where runners will be able to collect their race number and tracker. \nYou will then set off either on an anticlockwise or clockwise run around the Central Line\, collecting a selfie – as proof – at each of the 27 stations. \nIf you are in a pairs relay team\, one runner will go to the Tube Station and grab a daily travel card and travel to your next meeting/swapover point on the Circle Line train while the other will run to meet you there. It’s then time to swap the tracker (your baton) for the travel card and agree on your next relay swapover/meeting point. \nThe distance between stations varies from 0.2 miles to 1.2 miles. The overall distance to run will be around 16 miles. There are no checkpoints\, but plenty of shops! If you are injured or have had enough\, then you can grab the tube back to the start. \nThere will be a special Circle Line Challenge medal for all finishers and the chance to grab a cake and a coffee as we finish in the bakery. \n\nCourse Description\nThe event will be run in either a clockwise or anticlockwise direction\, with entrants deciding on the day which way they will go. The course includes 27 stations on the original Circle Line in central London. The overall distance is around 16 miles\, depending on the route you take! You will need to take a selfie at each station to prove your visit – we can check these on your phone at the finish. \nCourse Marking\nThe course isn’t marked and requires some navigation. We provide a tracker with an indicative route and a sheet with the what3words location for each station – how you get there is up to you! \nCheckpoints and Aid Stations\nThere are no checkpoints\, just lots of shops if you need a drink or snack! \nAwards\nAll finishers will receive a medal. \n\nRegistration and Start Time\nRegistration opens at 09.00 am and closes at 11:00 am\, when you will collect your race number and tracker. You will need to confirm your mobile phone number. \nAfter you have registered\, you can start whenever you are ready before 11:00 am. \nAge Limit\nYou must be at least 17 years old to enter the individual race\, which involves running 16 miles in one day. If you are 15 or older\, you can participate in a two-person relay team. \nBaggage Transfer\nSpace is limited in the bakery; you can leave a jacket or small bag at your own risk. \nTransport and Accommodation\nFor anyone wanting to stay overnight locally\, either before or after the event\, there are loads of hotels to suit all budgets – it is central London. \nArrival by car\nIf you are planning to drive\, then there is parking nearby\, but you will need deep pockets! \nThe Tracker\nThe Geo Tracks GPS Tracker is lightweight and easily fits in a small pocket in your rucksack. Your family and friends can track your progress in real-time\, and you can use the Geo Tracks app combined with the tracker as an accurate tool for navigation during the event. \nThe Event can be followed using the web link: https://events.geotracks.co.uk/live/4828\n \nCut-Off Times\nThe cut-off time for the race is four hours. \nKit\nIt is essential to carry the items below.
