The daring route undulates over paved tracks and off-road trails and meanders in and out of the vineyards. Now\, this wouldn’t be a proper Halloween run without a few tricks and treats along the way! So keep your eyes peeled as you never know what may be around the next corner. DESCRIPTION:GO TRI LOCAL – 50M SWIM\, 1.5K BIKE\, 650 RUN (OR LONGER)\n\n\n\nDate: January 3\, 2023\n\n\n\nLocation: Torbay Velopark\, Penwill Way\, Paignton\, TQ4 5JR\n\n\n\nGO TRI Local is ideal for people that are brand new to swimming\, biking and running and looking to take their first steps in a safe and enjoyable environment. Think of it as like Parkrun for Swim Bike Run. More experienced competitors are also welcome to take part. \n\n\n\nGO TRI Local Torbay is normally on the first Saturday of every month. It’s a fully off-road course that suitable for all ages & abilities. These opportunities are all about having fun and building your confidence. With the opportunities\, we have set out the minimum distances for each element of the event. The bike and run elements are lapped\, so you can do as much or as little that want on the day. eg more experienced people can do a 150m swim\, a 7.5K bike (5 laps of the velopark) and a 2k run which is 3 laps of our run course \n\n\n\nFAMILIES ENCOURAGED\n\n\n\nChildren as young as 6 (provided they can swim 25m) can take part with a responsible adult taking part with them. To book children\, please read our FAQs further down this page first. \n\n\n\nYou start with a pool-based swim\, followed by a Velopark ride on smooth\, flat tarmac and a flat parkland run. There is some free parking available starting a few hundred metres from the Leisure Centre. \n\n\n\n\nFAQS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo I need to be a good swimmer or biker\, or runner to take part? \n\nAbsolutely not. You can swim as little as 50m or as much as 200m. You can even stop for a breather if you need to & breaststroke\, front crawl\, and even doggy paddle are all fine. It’s just backstroke that isn’t permitted. Similarly\, on the bike leg\, you’ll find the smooth\, flat tarmac very easy to ride on. And the run is also flat with enough time to walk around if you prefer.\n\n\nHow do I book my children onto GO TRI Local? \nWe have to use the British Triathlon booking system for GO TRI Local. It doesn’t currently have a ‘basket’ system\, but you can book multiple people using the same email address and password. See GO TRI Booking FAQ for more details.\n\n\nIs GO TRI Local every month? \nYes\, they are on the first Saturday of every month (except for May 2022\, where we had to move it forward a week due to a clash with a swimming gala. In the winter months\, we will probably switch the format to a duathlon (run bike run)\, aquabike (swim/indoor bike)\, or aquathlon (swim/run). Here are the first 12 confirmed dates. SUMMARY:13th Dartford Bridge 10k 24th September 2023
DESCRIPTION:Race day information for the 10th Bridge 10k.\n\n\n\nThank you for entering this year’s Dartford Bridge 10k. I really can’t believe it’s our 12th Anniversary race. \n\n\n\nParking will be in the Crosswater Lake View House\, Rennie Drive\, Dartford\, Kent\, DA1 5FU. There will be signs directing you to the race start. Please don’t leave any rubbish behind. They do have security cameras on site. \n\n\n\nRegistration is about 400m from the car park.  Keep off the fast track at all times\, as the buses are still using the road. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m.\, and we will start the run at 9:30 a.m. \n\n\n\nWe have real toilets and showers on site\, which are about 200m away next to the security office.  Please car share if you can as we have limited parking spaces. There will be bike racking next to registration for anyone cycling there. There will be a bag drop area to the left of the registration. We will have a tea wagon on site this year next to registration. There will be a short race brief over the PA\, but all you really need to know is the race brief. \n\n\n\nThe run course will be two laps around both lakes. We now feel it’s not safe to cross the road by the roundabout. The course gets checked every year and is 100% a 10k. Please don’t wear headphones. You will be crossing the FastTrack bus lane\, and you must listen to any instruction given to you by the marshals. \n\n\n\nThere will be a water station as you start the second lap and at the finish. The race is chipped-timed\, and we will be giving out trophies to the following winners. \n\n\n\n\n1st 2nd 3rd Overall Female / Male overall\n\n\n\n1st 2nd 3rd 40 + Female / Male\n\n\n\n1st 2nd 3rd 50 + Female / Male\n\n\n\n1st 2nd 3rd 60 + Female / Male\n\n\n\n1st 70 + Male\n\n\n\n\nOnce again\, Please keep off the fast track at all times\, as the buses are still using the road. We get told off by the bus company.\n\n\n\nFun run-only information \n\n\n\nThe Children’s Fun run will start at 11:00 a.m. You can enter this on the day. All children will also receive a bespoke finishing Medal.  The run will take you once around the South Lake.
