SUMMARY:Fleetwood Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Fleetwood Half Marathon 2017\nThe Fleetwood Half Marathon is a flat\, rural\, one-lap race running along the Lancashire Walkways and Fleetwood promenades. Set to take place on the 20th of August\, be sure to secure your spot now while there is still time. \nREGISTRATION\nYour running number needs to be collected from the Race Makers on the day from the race venue. Registration opens at 8.00am. Please bring your email confirmation or payment receipt with you when collecting your race pack (which includes pins to attach your running number to the front of your running top) to ensure a swift collection process. You should arrive in plenty of time to avoid queues. There is an enquiry desk if you have any problems or questions about the event. \nRACE VENUE\nThe race venue is the Beach Road Car Park\, Fleetwood FY7 8PG. The race HQ is clearly signed. Registration and late entries are located with the marquee within the gardens. Baggage storage is also clearly marked. There are no changing or showering facilities\, however you can use the YMCA Leisure Centre\, which is located next door for a charge. \nHOW TO GET TO THE RACE\nBy Car: Exit the M55 at junction 3 and follow the A585 and signs for Fleetwood. Drive past the Freeport Shopping Village and the former Port. Pass the Marine Hall Gardens (former venue) on the right hand side and continue down the Esplanade. The race HQ is located on the right hand side at the roundabout with Beach Road. \nRACE FACILITIES\nThere are several car parks on the Esplanade for use on the day. The car parks will be clearly signed. Please park legally at all times. Council Parking Enforcement Officers operate throughout the day. Number collection\, baggage storage\, race help desk and toilets are all located with the Marine Hall Gardens. \nRACE DAY ITSELF\nArrive in plenty of time to allow you to park; collect your running number; get changed and visit the toilet etc. Just before the start the toilets become busy so plan your visit carefully. When you have your running number\, fill in the medical information section on the back. Be careful not to damage or lose your number\, as replacements will not be issued. If there is a risk of you blacking out during the race (for example if you suffer from fits)\, put a red cross on the front of your number. Pin your number on your FRONT without folding or covering it – it needs to be seen by the Race Makers. Do not pass your running number on to anybody else without first notifying registration – this is to ensure the results are correct and for obvious safety\, insurance and medical reasons. When you are happy that you are ready to run\, make your way to the start area. The start location is clearly marked by the inflatable archway. Line up behind the start line\, where there will be a few safety announcements before the race starts at 10.00am sharp. The route you are running on is open to the public so be aware of pedestrians and cyclists. We advise that you do not wear iPods or similar devices whilst running. You may not hear stewards or indeed fellow runners if they need help! At the finish you will be awarded with your runners medal. Water will be available along with medics\, should they be required. \nWATER STATIONS & COURSE AID\nWater stations are located at 3.6 miles\, 6.01 miles\, 7.6 miles and 10.03 miles on the route. Bottled water is available to all runners. The bottle cap will be removed before being passed to you. The station will be clearly signed. Please try and drop your bottles as soon as possible so we don’t litter the course too much. It also helps the crew at the stations to pick the bottles up quicker. A water station is also located at the finish area. Medics are available throughout the course on bikes and at the finish. If you get into any difficulties on the course you should alert a steward or medic who will be able to help you. \nDROPPING OUT\, SLOWER RUNNERS & WALKING\nIf you have to drop out for any reason\, and you cannot make your own way back to the race venue to collect your belongings\, then make your situation known to a course steward or a member of the medic crew. Arrangements will be made to pick you up and bring you back. Priority will be made in cases of injury or illness. If you are very slow\, but are determined to finish\, on-course facilities may become less available. Our team at the rear of the field will endeavour to give you support and advice. At some point\, perhaps through tiredness\, cramp\, blisters\, etc\, you may be forced to walk. If this happens you must move as far to the left hand side as possible to allow runners to overtake. \nWHAT IF I AM ILL OR INJURED\nYou must be fit and well to compete in the event. Severe exertion during or soon after any illness is extremely dangerous. Do not take any chances with your health. If you find yourself in this situation you must withdraw. But do not despair! Email us at least 7 days before the race and we can defer your entry to the following year for free so you do not lose your entry fee. \nInfo\nThe Race starts behind the Registration and Venue Marquees on the outer seawall walkway and runs along Fleetwood’s Outer Promenade and Esplanade with great views over Morecambe Bay. \nIt is a perfect race for runners of all abilities with a fun and friendly atmosphere. A warm FCR welcome awaits everyone. It is also very flat and certified accurately measured. \nRace HQ\nThe event headquarters is at the Beach Road Car Park\, Fleetwood FY7 8PG. There is a car park here\, but does fill up quickly. There are an additional two car parks just North a bit further along the Esplanade. SUMMARY:Berenloop Terschelling Marathon & Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Berenloop Terschelling Marathon\nThe Berenloop has over the years become one of the largest athletics events in Northern Netherlands. This is not only due to the beautiful trail\, which runs through the beautiful and varied nature of Terschelling\, but also because of the fantastic atmosphere that is on the island during the Berenloop weekend. \nAlmost everyone at Terschelling is involved in the Berenloop: as a participant\, as a volunteer or as a spectator\, you notice that. Perhaps this is the reason\, despite the challenging course\, again excellent times are happening every year. \nIn 2017\, the Beer Race is on its 21st edition. The first edition took place on October 26\, 1997\, as a sporting end of the theme year ‘400 years Willem Barentsz’. Willem Barentsz\, famous seafarer and from Terschelling\, tried to sail to Asia in 1596 via the north. \nIt became a monster ride with a lot of hardships and a forced wintering between the icebergs on Nova Zembla. By hunting for bears\, the crew had enough food to survive winter\, and thus the marathon came to her name: the Berenloop. \nArrangements\nParticipating in the Berenloop is ideally suited for a longer stay at Terschelling. For information about the many accommodation and arrangements\, please contact the Terschelling Tourist Office . \nBoats\nBook your boat on time for both the return journey and http://www.rederijdoeksen.nl . This also applies when you only go back and forth on Saturday 4 or Sunday 5 November. During the Berenloopweekend the regular timetable will be extended with a number of additional boats. \nBus transport\nIn addition to the regular schedule\, several extra buses are available during the Berenloopweekend. More information about the bus services on the island: http://www.bus-terschelling.nl After the Berenloop\, there are free shuttle buses from the finish to the swimming pool and to Hotel Schylge. \nCategories\nAt 21 and 42 kilometers\, the age ranges are: \nAge categories:\nMen: Seniors-M40-M50-M60\nWomen: Seniors-V35-V45-V55 \nTimetables\nDuring and around the Berenloop weekend there are several extra boats. More information can be found at http://www.rederijdoeksen.nl. \nOwn drinks\nYou can dispatch your own drinks by 11.40 am in the first aid kit immediately after the start / finish (for the whole marathon). These are then transported to the various care centers. On the way you will find your own drinks at the end of each care post. \nOwn risk and responsibility\nEach participant is at your own risk and for your own responsibility. The organization accepts no liability whatsoever for the participants. Insurance is a matter of the participants themselves. In case of unexpected cancellation\, no refund of the entry fee will be made. On the Bears Race\, the General Terms and Conditions of the SET (Terschelling Foundation Events) apply. \nCyclists and supporters\nIn view of the hassle of the trail\, we ask you to make the least use of guidance by a cyclist. Obviously\, accompanying cyclists should never interfere with other runners or ride a bike. They must also adhere strictly to the clues of police\, contestants\, traffic controllers and other volunteers. If they do not\, the organization is obliged to remove the course and there is a chance that no cyclists will be allowed next year. \nCertain sections of the trail\, such as the beach\, are not accessible to accompanying cyclists. This also applies to the last part of the trail in the village (from De Stilen nursing home). \nNOTE: At the 2-kilometer point cyclists and runners cross each other. This is solved by zipping. Take a good look at the signs and follow the directions of the traffic controllers! The runners have priority at all times. \nSupporters are not allowed to walk the final piece over the finish. The red runner is only for the finishers! \nFinish\nFor all distances\, the finish is under the brandaris. At 17.40 the finish will be closed. \nReminder\nAll finishers on the whole and the half marathon will receive a medal and a functional Saucony running shirt afterwards. Participants in Small Berenloop receive an appropriate reminder afterwards. \nDogs\nIt is not allowed to go with a dog to the berry or small berth. \nTools\nThe Berenloop is\, like the Little Bear Run\, a running event. It is therefore not allowed to participate in tools such as handbikes\, running cars / baby joggers\, steps\, autopeds etc. \nInformation\nSee under “Competition Secretariat” \nSubscription\nThe registration for the Berenloop\, Youth run and Kleintje Berenloop is open. The limits have now been reached for the 5\, 10 and 21\,1 km. \nYouth run\nPrior to the Berenloop there is a youth run for the youth from 6 to 15 years. Participation costs are 6 euros. It starts on Sunday morning from 09:45 am under the brandaris. For more information see youth race. \nClothing delivery\nYou can spend your valuable items and clothes at the Nature and Landscape Center (Natuurmuseum) on the Burgemeester Reedekerstraat 11. SUMMARY:The Antarctic Ice Marathon & Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Antarctic Ice Marathon & Half Marathon\nAdventure marathoners and ultra athletes are always looking for the next big challenge. It could be a remote desert marathon\, a high altitude mountain marathon or a jungle marathon. However\, mainland Antarctica represents the last frontier\, the final great wilderness to be conquered. And now adventure athletes like you can do it. \nOn 24th November 2017 the thirteenth Antarctic Ice Marathon ® races\, respectively\, will take place at 80 Degrees South\, just a few hundred miles from the South Pole at the foot of the Ellsworth Mountains. \nThis race presents a truly formidable and genuine Antarctic challenge with underfoot conditions comprising snow and ice throughout\, an average windchill temperature of -20C\, and the possibility of strong Katabatic winds to contend with. Furthermore\, the event takes place at an altitude of 700 metres. \nThe Antarctic Ice Marathon is the only marathon run in the interior of the Antarctic and is organised by Global Running Adventures\, the organisers of the annual North Pole Marathon ®\, Volcano Marathon ® and World Marathon Challenge ®. \nThe four-day 2017 itinerary will see competitors fly by private jet from Punta Arenas\, Chile\, on 23 November to the marathon location at Union Glacier\, Antarctica. A marked course of 42.2km (26.2 miles) will have been prepared in advance and snowmobile support\, aid stations and medical personnel will be at hand for the duration of the race. Competitors are scheduled to return to Punta Arenas on 26 November. \nThe Antarctic Ice Marathon is the southernmost marathon on earth and a unique opportunity to complete a marathon that is truly worthy of the seventh continent. You can join the exclusive 7 Continents Marathon Club by combining this race with marathons on each of the other six continents. Don’t expect to run your quickest time\, however\, as winds can blow from the Pole at a steady 10-25 knots. Also\, forget about penguins or crowds cheering you along the route – no penguins live this far south and you will have to rely upon yourself to push onward in the hushed\, indomitable surroundings. \nFor those who prefer a half-marathon option\, the Frozen Continent Half-Marathon will also be run on the day of the Marathon race. This half-marathon is your opportunity to cover 21km (13.1 miles) on the ‘white continent’ and finish the southernmost half marathon on the planet.

SUMMARY:The Reggae Marathon\, Half Marathon & 10k Run
DESCRIPTION:Reggae Marathon\, Half Marathon & 10k Run\nThe Reggae Marathon & Half Marathon is Jamaica’s premier International Marathon Event. Marathoners\, sports enthusiasts as well as beginners\, converge in Negril\, Jamaica’s capital of casual\, for a fun event characterized by good vibes and lots of Reggae music. \nEnthusiastic supporters come out along the looped\, internationally certified course to support participants. Meanwhile\, hard working volunteers offer uniquely packaged water and re-hydration fluids at every mile. The pulsating Reggae music on course also keeps participants in an “irie” spirit\, as they burn the mileage. \nOther related Marathon events\, like the internationally rated gourmet Pasta Party and Registration & Expo\, have participants and supporters alike\, humming with activity. The Finish Line Beach Bash affords everyone an opportunity to relax on the beach with special offerings and entertainment geared towards having the best time. \nAll in all\, the Reggae Marathon Event is uniquely Jamaican with an international appeal. \nNote\n– Online registration closes midnight Tuesday\, November 28\, 2017. Mailed entries must be postmarked November 24\, 2017.\n– ENTRY FEES ARE NEITHER REFUNDABLE NOR TRANSFERABLE. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION OR PACKET PICK-UP.\n– Register early to avoid the price increase on August 1\, 2017.\n– The minimum age for entry in the Marathon is 18 years old\, 14 years old for the Half Marathon\, and 10 years old for the 10K.\n– You may run\, walk or run/walk the Reggae Marathon\, Half Marathon or 10K. \nTo help you have the best experience possible on race day\, we need to make sure you understand our marathon course time limit and rules. \nSix Hour Time Limit\nAlthough Negril is a laid-back town\, you only have six hours to complete the Reggae Marathon double-loop course. A six-hour pace is 13:45 minutes-per-mile (8:32 per km). \nChoose the Right Event for Your Pace\nIf there is a chance you may struggle to maintain a 13:45 per-mile pace\, we strongly suggest you switch\, at no additional cost\, to the Reggae Half Marathon. You’ll have a lot more time to finish and still get an awesome medal at the finish line. The Half Marathon is the certified boomshot for power walkers. \nWhat Happens if You Fall Behind the Pace in the Full Marathon\nIf you are not able to maintain a 13:45 pace\, never mind. There’s still a good reason to feel alright! On this double loop course\, marathoners must complete the first loop or 13.1 miles by 8:15am (3 hours after the race start). The ‘Marathon Miggle’ is at the start and finish at Long Bay Beach Park. \nA marathoner\, who does not make the 8:15am time check\, will be guided into the finish chute\, awarded a Half Marathon medal and stepped down to the half marathon results\, rather than be disqualified. \nStep Down Before Race Day\nReggae Marathon encourages all runners to make their race changes before the race at the Registration booth located at the Couples Swept Away Sports Complex. Changes on Race Day or during the race are not accepted. \nA Few Other Things to Consider\nThere is NO early-start option. All three Reggae races begin at 5:15am sharp. Aid Stations and runner support services will be available only within the 6-hour course limit. The Norman Manley Boulevard is the only access for 6-miles of a resort coastline and our permit requires us to fully reopen the road at 11:15am for tourist\, resident and business access.

SUMMARY:Standard Chartered Singapore International Marathon\, Half Marathon\, 10k & Relay
DESCRIPTION:Singapore International Marathon\nThe race of the year is back! Join us at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2017 and run along 50\,000 runners. Kids Dash will take place on 2 December while the Marathon\, Half-Marathon and 10km will be on 3 December. There’s a category for everyone so hit that REGISTER button now! \nWith 4 different adults categories and the Kids Dash\, everyone can run at SCSM 2017! \nMarathon (42.195km)\n3 December 4.30AM – Orchard Road – A marathon is one of the most challenging physical activities one can choose to participate in\, providing extreme mental and physical challenges throughout the 42.195km. Overcoming these challenges and then completing the run makes it all worthwhile. Crossing the marathon finish line is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding personal experiences an athlete can enjoy. \nThe marathon is a considerable distance and should only be taken up by runners who are committed to several months of dedicated training. Individuals who are new to the sport of running may wish to start with a shorter distance and then move up to a marathon once confident they can safely complete the 42.195km. \nEkiden (42.195km)\n3 December 4.30AM – Orchard Road – The Ekiden\, a concept which originally began in Japan\, is a hugely popular running format. Teams of six runners bring their training and teamwork together to complete 42.195km. \nThe first participant of the team will begin the relay at the same start point and time as the Marathon participants. Each team member will run a section of the marathon\, passing the team sash to their next teammate at each of the five Ekiden points. \nHalf Marathon (21.1km)\n3 December 4.30AM – Orchard Road – The half marathon has a wider appeal than its Marathon older brother\, and is viewed as a more achievable feat by non-elite or serious runners. \nThe 21.1km still requires a serious level of training\, however\, and brings with it its own set of challenges. Many runners use the half marathon as a stepping stone towards the marathon but it’s a very testing run in its own right. Some of the world’s best long distance runners focus their careers on the half and are able to set some incredible average speeds in this category. The half is a perfect run for those looking to step up from the 10km and test the long distance discipline. \n10 KM / 10 KM Wheelchair\n3 December 7.15AM – Esplanade Bridge – The 10km is a category for runners of all abilities. The distance is perfect for beginners\, though once again it also requires a decent training commitment for those new to the sport. \nThe more serious runners view this category as almost a ‘sprint’\, with some incredible 10km times having been posted over the years. \nThis race category is also available for wheelchair bound participants to participate in with sports wheelchairs. \nKids Dash\n2 December 6PM – Orchard Road – As the name suggests\, the Kids Dash is a fun event for young runners aged up to 13. The race is designed to encourage kids to participate in a running event and take up the sport while they are young. Kids are encouraged to come out\, have fun\, and experience the festivities and be part of this momentous occasion. \nIt is non-competitive\, hence participants of this category will not be issued with timing chips. It is compulsory for a parent/guardian to accompany any child 6 years and below for safety purposes. Only one parent/guardian issued with an identification tag will be allowed to accompany any child 6 years & below. \nAnd for the third time\, The Kids Dash will be held as a standalone event on Saturday 2 December\, making it another weekend-long running fiesta on the first weekend of December.

That date\, often referred to as the “End of the World” was especially significant in Belize where the Mayans have lived for hundreds\, if not thousands\, of years. \nThe Mayan calendar began on a date corresponding to 3114 BC and the earliest artifacts of Mayan culture discovered in Cuello\, Belize have been carbon dated to about 2600 BC. \nAlthough the world did not end in 2012\, we retained the name “End of the World Marathon” in honor of the distinguished writer Aldous Huxley\, who wrote in 1934 about Belize ‘If the world had any ends\, British Honduras would certainly be one of them.’ \nRun for charity\nThe End of the World Marathon is not only about running and fun in beautiful Belize. \nAll proceeds raised from the marathon go towards high school scholarships for children on the peninsula. \nCourse\nThe 26.2 mile marathon course begins at the football field at the bottom of the peninsula\, goes through Placencia Village\, Seine Bight Village\, and Maya Beach\, with multiple views of the Caribbean Sea along the way. The course then loops back a few miles south of Riversdale. \nThe 13.1 mile half marathon course begins at the marathon turnaround and both races finish in Placencia Village. \nThere will be water stations at about every mile. The course is completely flat. \nSchedule\nSaturday\, December 9\, 2017 @ Turtle Inn\n3 pm – 6 pm: Registration and Packet pick up\n6 pm: Pasta dinner ($15 BZ for Belizeans and $15 US for non Belizeans – can be paid for at packet pickup) \nSunday\, December 10\, 2017 @ Placencia Village\n5:30 am: Marathon start\n5:30 am: Half-marathon start (13.1 miles north of marathon start)\n9:30 am: 2 mile fun run\n11:30 am: Awards\nNoon: Post-race party\n1 pm – midnight: Marathon Beach Party at Tipsy Tuna \nThe registration deadline is October 16\, 2017. Runners who pay their fees after this date may participate in the event\, but will not be guaranteed an official race T-shirt and finisher medal.

SUMMARY:Bengaluru Midnight Marathon\, Half Marathon\, 10k
DESCRIPTION:Bangalore Midnight Marathon\nThe Origin\nThe name ‘marathon’ comes from the legend of Pheidippides\, a Greek soldier\, who was sent from the town of Marathon to Athens to announce that the Persians had been defeated in the Battle of Marathon. \nIt is said that he ran the entire distance without stopping and burst into the Senate\, exclaiming “Nenikékamen”\, ‘We have won’ or ‘We are victorious’ before collapsing and dying of exhaustion. \nThe Organizers\nThe humble efforts of a group of 25 like-minded people from RBITC culminated in the first edition of the Bengaluru Midnight Marathon on 19th May 2007\, jointly organized with Crossover Sports Ltd.\, a leading sports and entertainment company. \nFirst of its kind in Asia\, the event attracted more than 4\,000 participants and was widely reported in India and the world over. Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) was formed in June 2006 and has in the last few years funded and implemented several Community Projects in the area of primary health care\, rural livelihood provision through vocational training programs\, primary education by adopting government schools and supporting mid-day meal program and scores of other charitable\, community service and environmental initiatives. \n \nThe Cause\nProfessional athletes and enthusiastic runners alike join together to run for a specific cause each year\, which forms the theme of the marathon. Such themes of previous editions include: ‘Run for a Child’ (2011) and ‘It’s fashionable to be Green’ (2009 & 2010)\, which raised hundreds of thousands of rupees for the city. This year we ‘Run for Bengaluru’ \nThe Essence\nThe Bengaluru Midnight Marathon represents the vision\, vigor and vibrance of the beloved and inspiring city. \nAt its heart\, the initiative aimed to create a platform to raise funds for health\, education\, social welfare and rural enlistment projects. And in its successive years\, the marathon has remained true to its simple purpose. Since inception\, hundreds of people have raised money\, generating funds that have provided free spinal and eye surgeries for the needy\, scholarships for deserving youth\, vocational training sponsorships\, mid-day meals in schools\, among many others. \nFive editions of the Bengaluru Midnight Marathon have been held till date\, with unprecedented success and support from local\, national and international athletes. The race is more than just an athletic event; it is a glimpse into the cultural diversity of the state of Karnataka. \nIn previous years\, race day functions have included cultural performances of traditional Indian art forms\, dancers\, percussion artists as well as more western rock shows\, giving a unique blend of a modern and ethnic flavor to the activities. The pet-a-thon allows attendants to participate with their pets\, giving a fun twist to the day’s events. \nThe Opportunity\nThe BMM reflects a unique spectrum of values which is shared by participants\, their families and supporters across India and the world. Associations established with the marathon display not just a heart for social responsibility but also provide a platform for display and contact. Our partners share our values and also appreciate the opportunity of a wide reach and the overall brand leverage. \n– All of Bangalore comes out on race day to celebrate the spirit of the city. \n– Companies participate in large numbers using the marathon as a platform to show support for the city\, for employee engagement & brand visibility 100’s of NGOs participate to raise funds for and also to create awareness on their cause. \n– The Sports & Film fraternity & celebrities participate to show their support for the city and also help select NGOs in raising funds.

SUMMARY:Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & Half Marathon 2018
DESCRIPTION:Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & Half Marathon\nThe streets of the Phoenix-Scottsdale-Tempe area — often called the “Valley of the Sun” — are expected to fill with as many as 30\,000 runners\, walkers and wheelchair athletes with the 15th annual running of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & Half Marathon\, which sees more than 15\,000 runners cross the finish line in just the half marathon each year. \nAfter years of running a point-to-point course that started in downtown Phoenix and finished in nearby Tempe on the campus of Arizona State University\, the route was completely redesigned a couple of years ago to feature an out-and-back loop that starts and finishes near the ASU campus\, and takes runners through Tempe and north into Scottsdale\, where they’ll cross the Salt River twice and head through both Eldorado Park and a long stretch through Papago Park. \nLike all of the “Rock & Roll”-themed running events\, the Arizona race will also feature live bands playing music throughout the course\, stationed roughly every other mile\, along with cheerleading squads from local high schools and thousands of local spectators out to cheer on runners around the course. The race finish line will lie in the parking lot on the ASU campus\, just outside Sun Devil Stadium. \nConsidered an excellent race for first-time marathoners and half-marathoners\, thanks to its largely fast and flat course — the race follows a very gradual overall uphill from the start to about the mile 10 marker\, and gains only about 150 feet in elevation throughout the first 10 miles of the half marathon — the Rock & Roll Arizona race also features a relay race for two-person teams. \nNote that the full marathon will not share the same starting line as the half marathon; while the half marathon will start within the Arizona State University campus along Mill Avenue and 3rd Street\, the full marathon will start at CityScape in downtown Phoenix\, near West Washington Street and 3rd Street. \nRunners in the half marathon will have 4 hours to complete their 13.1 miles\, while those running the full marathon will have a 7-hour time limit on the course. \nDue to the popularity of this event’s half marathon\, organizers have adopted a wave start to allow plenty of room for all runners at the starting line and along the course throughout the race. The starting time for each won’t begin until the shoe chip crosses the starting line. \nFees\n$80 for the half marathon\n$90 for the full marathon\n$40 for the 5K\n$50 for the 10K
