The course is surprisingly flat for a city built on seven hills\, but the sometimes uneven cobblestone streets\, which in the narrowest places can feel quite crowded\, may add a few extra minutes to your finish time. \nAge Limit\nIf you reside in Italy you must be 20 or older on the race day. If you do not reside in Italy you must be 18 or older on the race day. \nMaximum Time\nAnyone who does not reach the half marathon within 3:45 and 35km within 6 hours from the gunshot start will be asked by the judges to stop.

Year after year\, thousands of sportspeople and enthusiasts from all over the world come to participate in this classic race on the last Sunday in November. This great event in Florence has increased immeasurably recently so much so that we expect more than 10.000 participants in 2018 \nThis extraordinary increase in participation also testifies to the constant attention given to the organization of the race. Florence Marathon is now the second Italian marathon (after Rome)\, and among the 20 most important marathons in the world. The route takes you by all those landmarks of singular beauty that have made Florence famous worldwide: views over the enchanting hills and countryside\, and passing right by the Cathedral Square\, Piazza della Signoria\, Ponte Vecchio (to mention only just a few of historical importance)\, before entering the majestic Piazza Duomo. \nThe road is entirely asphalted and ramp-free\, except for the short\, slightly sloping stretch of road at the start\, and these characteristics make it a particularly fast route appreciated by runners. \nKITS\nAthletes enrolled in the Marathon will receive an official kit containing ASICS technical material and other promotional materials. Kits can be picked up from the appointed stand of the Marathon Expo after collecting race numbers. \nCLOAKROOM SERVICE\nThe cloakroom service will be located at Piazza Santa Maria Novella in the apposite spaces divided in different groups corresponding to start numbers (available from 6.30 a.m.). The cloakroom area must not be used as a changing room. Do not leave any valuables in the cloakroom area as the Organization cannot accept responsibility in case of theft. We advise you to put on old clothes (that can be discarded before the start) on top of those in which you will run. The Organization will supply a plastic material mantle for protection in case of rain or high wind. \nREFRESHMENT POINTS\nRefreshment Points are situated every 5 kms.
