At the wrap party you can celebrate your achievement with live entertainment\, check out the Kids’ Zone\, watch the awards’ ceremony for the top finishers and enjoy free fruit\, bagels and refreshments provided by our generous sponsors. The 10K route is sprinkled with gentle\, undulating hills making it both fun and enjoyable\, while providing breathtaking scenery which includes the snow-capped mountains along Georgia Straight\, water views along English Bay and False Creek. The course truly showcases all the beauty of this wonderful city. As typical of other road races\, the roads used are completely closed to vehicular traffic and streams of observers watch and cheer from the along the sidewalks. Water stations are provided at numerous locations along the course as well as music entertainment in the form of bands. \nDue to the large number of participants in this event\, the Vancouver Sun Run has a “Wave Start” to begin the event. This type of start is used to stagger the start in order to maintain control of the crowd and ensure the course does not become too crowded. \nWave Start\nAll participants must provide an estimated finish time on their entry forms. Entrants of similar ability are grouped in time zones and start the race in a series of short timed intervals. \nIf no estimated finish time is provided\, you will be assigned a 1:46+ minute bib for the Walker’s Division. To run or walk in the same time zone as your friends\, family or team members\, you must select the same estimated finish time on all the entry forms. If you are at different ability levels\, you must choose the zone that’s suitable for the slowest participant. \nRunner Profiles:\n0:00 – 0:44 SEEDED (0:38 Men / 0:44 Women) \n0:45 – 0:48 (0:39 Men / 0:48 Women) \n0:49 – 1:00 \n1:01 – 1:15 \n1:16 – 1:45 \n1:46+ Walkers\, entrants with walking poles\, baby joggers\, strollers and non-competitive wheelchairs must start here. \nAwards and Categories\nAwards are given three deep to males and females in: Overall\, Masters\, Wheelchairs\, 16-18\, 19-24\, 25-29\, 30-34\, 35-39\, 40-44\, 45-49\, 50-54\, 55-59\, 60-64\, 65-69\, 70-74\, 75-79\, 80-84\, 85-89\, 90-94\, 95 plus. You must accept the risks of participating in a race with over 40\,000 entrants. Please read the release and waiver carefully before entering. \nOnly runners\, joggers\, walkers and wheelchairs are permitted. Dogs\, skateboards\, wagons\, in-line skates\, scooters\, roller skis\, bicycles and vehicles are strictly prohibited. Participants with these items will be removed from the course and will be disqualified. \nMeeting Points\nAt the start of the race\, arrange to meet several blocks away from the start area\, which will be saturated with Vancouver Sun Runners. \nAfter the race\, inside BC Place Stadium arrange to meet your friends and family in pre-determined alphabetical letters from A to Z which will be posted in the stadium’s seating sections. \nWALKERS DIVISION\nTake the challenge in stride! \nYou don’t have to be a runner to enter the Vancouver Sun Run. You can stroll\, stride or power-walk the 10K course instead. Over one third of Vancouver Sun Run participants are walkers! \nStart\nWalkers have their own start zone (1:46+) and are the last wave to cross the start line at approximately 9:30 to 9:45 a.m. You are encouraged to arrive at the start by 9 a.m. to ensure that you can access your start zone and partake in all the pre-race festivities. Remember several streets in the downtown core will be closed and this may add delays to your traveling time if you leave later in the morning. \nBring water and stay warm. Dress with layered clothing to ensure you stay warm while waiting for your wave to start but ensure you remove your clothing to expose your race bib before your cross that start line to ensure your timing chip is activated. Port-a-Potties are stationed on Hornby Street for your convenience and comfort. The Walker’s Zone gear check is located on Howe Street and will remain open until 9:30 a.m. \nRemember there’s no need to sneak into a faster start zone. With the timing system\, your time begins when YOU cross the start line. \nBands at the start area will entertain you until the last walker leaves. \nWalker’s Pit Stop\nBoost your energy level! Fuel up with fruit and water at your very own Walkers Pit Stop (located between the 3K and 4K mark) to help you get to the finish line.

SUMMARY:Trieste Running Festival - Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Trieste Running Festival – Half Marathon\nWith a course starting from the Karst highland\, 140 metres above sea level near the main square in Aurisina and finish line by the sea in Trieste\, the new “Trieste 21k” will be one of the fastest B-AISM international half marathons; a chance for all amateur and professional athletes to set their best ever time\, beating their PB. \nWith 23 editions\, besides being among the most longstanding Italian half marathons\, the Trieste Halfmarathon is surely the most scenic race in Europe\, confirming its course along the Coastal road\, the new stretch along the Belvedere view point at the Costa dei Barbari and finish line in Piazza Unità. \n  \n \n  \nFrom the Karst to the sea\, from Aurisina – birthplace of Luciano Gigliotti\, coach of Gelindo Bordin and Stefano Baldini – to the city centre in Piazza Unità d’Italia\, featuring a unique course in a unique landscape… but let’s go into detail: the start is in the main square of Aurisina that can be reached with the shuttles available from Trieste Central Station (this year there will also be a shuttle taking participants back to Aurisina – there will be a bag service too). \nAfter a flat 400-metre stretch along the Provincial Road n.1 runners will go down the steepest descent of the course consisting of 150 metres with 5% inclination and then another flat section\, about 1 kilometre long\, across the Aurisina Quarry zone; the course then leads to the railway bridge along the SP1\, after another (3%) downhill stretch\, about 3 km from the start\, the course reaches the highway junction towards the Belvedere of the Costa dei Barbari; from this scenic point you can spot the finish area far away with a unique breathtaking views of the sea; you can admire the city and the Slovenian coast\, the Friuli plane and the Dolomite mountains on the backdrop\, this is the most scenic section of the race with slight descents; after 7 kilometres the course passes under the Natural Tunnel\, then at km 10 there is the Tenda Rossa drink station\, and at km 12 the course leads to the Castle of Miramare along the last descent\, about 500 metres long with a 3/4 % inclination to be run naturally in order to avoid stiffness along the final flat section. \n \nPicture Credit – http://ilpiccolo.gelocal.it/trieste/foto-e-video/2017/05/07/fotogalleria/la-partenza-della-half-marathon-e-spunta-il-centurione-1.15301801 \nFrom the Bivio di Miramare there are still 7 km to the finish line but the half marathon runners will meet the Family participants (running along a parallel course) who will cheer them up and help them improve their performance. \nIn Roiano the course leads to the last straight stretch before the Station where the 20-km drink station will be available\, and then the last section along the waterfront will offer historical sights\, a central European atmosphere blending with Mediterranean charm and finally lead to Piazza Unità…and it will be a great running festival once again. \nItalian athletes who do not have a Fidal membership must show the Runcard Fidal or Asi\, foreign athletes without Iaaf membership can sign up paying a 5 euros insurance and no further additional costs. \nMIRAMAR EXPO \nThe Miramar Expo\, at the Savoia Excelsior Palace\, (Riva del Mandracchio\, 4\, 34124 Trieste)\, will open on 3 May. You will be able to enter for the race\, collect T-shirts and race bags. The opening times will be: \nThursday 3 May: from 16 to 20 \nFriday 4 and Saturday 5 May: from 10 to 19 \nRegistration will not be available on the race day. \nMaximum number of participants: 2500

SUMMARY:The Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2018
DESCRIPTION:Edinburgh Marathon Festival\nFast & flat\, this course was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World\, ideal if it’s your first marathon or you are looking for a PB. The Edinburgh Marathon has sold out every year since 2008 and is the second largest marathon in the UK\, behind only London. \nDetails \nSunday 27th May 2018\, 10am\nPrice: £54.00/£56.00\nAge: 18 years or over\nStart: Potterow\, EH8 9AL\nFinish: Pinkie Playing Fields\, EH21 7HA \nMarathon Route \nStarting on Potterrow in the grounds of one of the oldest Universities in the world\, this incredible city centre start takes you through the very heart of Edinburgh. As you pass Greyfriars Bobby on your left\, you also take in the National Museum of Scotland on your right\, before heading over the High Street and down The Mound. Don’t be surprised if you see a few shoppers stop and cheer as you then run past the Scottish National Gallery and into Princes Street Gardens\, with the iconic Edinburgh Castle as your backdrop.\nThe route then takes in the ‘Gothic Rocket’\, otherwise known as the Scott Monument\, as it meanders down the historic Royal Mile\, heading towards and past the somewhat controversial Scottish Parliament building. Here you can look up and take in the spectacular Arthurs Seat & Salisbury Crags\, as well as the Palace of Holyrood\, before departing the Royal Park and heading east towards the coast. \nAs you reach Musselburgh\, you’ll run past the oldest golf course in the world\, where it’s documented that golf has been played as early as 1672\, before heading further East on the flat to Gosford House\, an imposing neo-classical mansion which was one of the last great architectural commissions of the celebrated Scots architect\, Robert Adam. As you turn and head back along the coast\, you’ll see the beautiful finish line ahead\, one of the greatest sights for any marathon runner! \nWith a descent of almost 90 metres to near sea level\, we believe that this is the fastest marathon route in the world. \nRules & Regulations

SUMMARY:The Great East SwimRun 2018
DESCRIPTION:The Great East SwimRun 2018\nEntries for the 2018 Great East SwimRun are now open! \nSince its inception in 2006\, SwimRun has become a popular choice around the World for endurance athletes and is now the fastest growing endurance sport in the UK. \nThe concept was born in Sweden\, following a drunken bet among friends as to who could better navigate 20 islands and 75k of the Stockholm archipelago. \nRunners and swimmers from across the UK\, and triathletes seeking a change from the traditional triathlon format will enjoy stepping up to a new challenge. \nBased on teamwork\, passion\, and closeness to nature\, teams of two embark on a seamless journey across the landscape\, taking on land and water\, as they navigate their way around the course. \nThis outdoor running and swimming challenge is the new benchmark in adventure races. Not just for endurance athletes\, the most important things you need are a sense of adventure\, some determination and a lot of fun! \n \nAbout the event \nAn ideal entry level event giving everyone the chance to sample the SwimRun experience. Based on a single lap of Alton Water which is set in 400 acres of beautiful Suffolk countryside.\nThe event starts and finishes at the main Great East Swim event site. The 11.3km course (approximately) comprises 4 swims and 3 runs.\nThe swim courses include the start and finish sections of the Great Swims with a sunken tennis court thrown in for good measure. The run courses have something for everyone: \nRun 1: Quick and flat through grassland and light woodland. The course is predominantly based on hard packed surface with some softer areas under trees.\nRun 2: Undulating\, sweeping run on a variety of surfaces\, includes three steep descents and several short\, sharp climbs.\nRun 3: Gently undulating course based largely on packed sand cycle track and path which follows the contours of the reservoir with the water regularly visible.\nTotal swim distance: approximately 20%\nTotal run distance: approximately 80%\nTransitions: 4 swims / 3 runs\nTime: unlimited\, take your time\nAge: 16 years old and over \n11.3k total distance covered \nThere will be a mandatory briefing before the event at 09:30.\nThe provisional start time for the event is 10:30. \nRules & Regulations

This requires participants to adapt accordingly with regard to carefulness\, equipment and race strategy. \nParticipants take full responsibility for their participation in the race. This means participants are responsible for their state of health\, training\, fitness and equipment. It is expected of all participants that they:\na) are dressed suitably and in accordance with the weather conditions and their individual requirements and pro-tect themselves against rain\, cold and sun;\nb) retire from the race as soon as it threatens to become a health risk for them;\nc) behave in an environmentally compatible way and do not leave any refuse in the countryside;\nd) provide first aid help to other participants if these have an accident or suffer health problems. \nThe following minimum age levels apply\n• T127 / T88: from 18 years of age\n• Other competitions: from 14 years of age\n• KIDS: from 4 years of age \nAn acclimatisation period of ideally 5 days at an altitude above 1500 m a.s.l. is highly recommended before starting in one of the long-distance competitions. \nInfective illnesses suffered before the race (tonsillitis\, influenza\, etc.) can have a significant negative effect on the physical performance and may signify a serious danger to a runner‘s health (e.g. heart muscle damage). Anyone suffering from this kind of illness 6 – 8 weeks before the race should consult a doctor. Participants older than 35 years of age who are competing for the first time in a long-distance race are strongly recommended to undergo a complete health check by a doctor. \nT43 / T39 / K43\nThese categories represent several hours‘ endurance performance at altitudes of up to 2750 m a.s.l. and place special demands on the participants‘ performance capabilities. Adaptability\, autonomy and self-sufficiency in a mountain environment are also required. \nT127 / T88\nThese are long\, high alpine trails. They have an adventure-character where participants consciously take major risks. Some ascent and descents are very steep and require surefootedness as well as alpine experience. \nTo complete these trails\, good fitness and training are absolutely necessary. Also required are a good sense of orientation\, excellent adaptability and self-sufficiency in a mountain environment. \nParticipants are alone and run independently for long distances. Self-sufficiency is understood to be the capability of surviving alone on the route in all weather conditions\, making independent decisions (including retiring from the race)\, to be able to ensure a personal supply of food and drink and be able to provide first aid measures using an emergency firstaid kit. \nOrganiser services\nInfrastructure\nThe organiser provides the following infrastructure for participants:\n• Marked race course\n• Food and drink (during the race and at the finish)\n• Medical services\n• Transport and delivery of running kit to the finish area\n• Information about weather during the race\n• Timekeeping at intermediate posts and at the finish\n• Live tracking (for T127 / T88) \nFood + drink\nThe intermediate and finish refreshments are provided at the following distances:\nT127 / T88: Ø 17 km (15 – 20 km)\nT43 / T29 / H16 / T39 / H21 / H20: Ø 8 km (5 – 15 km)\nK43 / K23 / K10: Ø 5 km (4 – 6 km) \nBefore the event\, a plan showing the location of the refreshment stations and the food / drink provided there will be published in internet. The stations are also marked on the route map. The organisers reserve the right to modify the refreshment plan at any time and without notice. \nParticipants are responsible for ensuring that they have sufficient food and drink with them at all times. \nMedical services\nAccording to the character of the race or trail\, the time taken and the distance covered\, the medical services are limited to coaching of participants\, initial treatment in the case of an emergency and notification of civil emergency rescue services. The medical personnel have the right to remove participants from the race definitely or for a limited period if the danger exists of said participant sustaining damage to their health if they continue. This agreement applies to publication in internet\, print media\, TV/teletext\, speaker‘s announcements and start lists and rankings posted during the race. Photographs and videos taken in connection with the T127 / T88 may be used without any claim for compensation in internet\, print media\, TV and all other social media. The organisers reserve the right to make use of the personal details mentioned here for marketing purposes unless participants express their wishes to the contrary in writing. \nRegistration \nCancellation\nStarting fees cannot be refunded or transferred to the following year if a participant is prevented from taking part for whatever reason (e.g. accident\, illness). Alternatively\, you can enter the following address into any GPS\, which will take you to the same park entrance: \n972 Route 9W\, Congers\, NY 10920 \nThen\, after entering the park\, make your first right turn towards Parking Field 5. follow the road down for 1 mile (pass Parking Field 6)\, Parking Field 5 will be on your left. Race-Day Central will be between the south end of the parking lot and the lake loop pathway. \nPlease note that the southern entrance off of Route 9W is also at “Lake Road” (we know… it’s totally confusing)\, that’s why we recommend using the link or address above\, then follow the written directions the last mile. \nYou can also click this link for the exact location of the race staging area in Google maps\, however if you are driving from points south of Rockland Lake\, most GPSs will try to take you through the southern park entrance off of Route 9W\, and the road leading to Parking Field 5 from this entrance is CLOSED. That’s why we recommend using the first link (or address)\, then follow the written directions. \nDO NOT type “Rockland Lake State Park” into your GPS\, you’ll end up in the wrong part of the park at the north end of the lake\, 1-1/2 miles away from the race! \nIMPORTANT: you must enter any parking lot inside the park BEFORE 8AM to avoid being charged the $8 NYS Parks imposed vehicle fee.

After registering you will be directed to Transition where you will leave your bike\, cycle kit and running gear. Competitors will have their own numbered racking area corresponding to their race number. It is recommended that you ‘walk through’ & familiarise yourself with the routes to/from your bike from/to the entrances and exits of transition prior to starting the race. Remember to leave your bike in a low enough gear\, ready for the cycle section. There is no cycling in transition: mount/dismount your bike at the mount/dismount points. You bike racking area must not be marked with towels\, balloons\, powder\, etc as these will be removed. \nTransition will remain open to competitors throughout the day. You will be required to verify your identification i.e. race number\, with those on the gate. No one other than competitors or race officials will be permitted into the transition area at any time. \nIt is your responsibility to ensure that your bike is in safe road-worthy condition\, before entering transition. Any bike that is considered unsafe or hazardous to the rider or other competitors will not be allowed into transition. All handlebar ends must be plugged. Remember to check there are no punctures or flats the day before the race and before leaving for the event and ensure your helmet is securely fitting. \nRace Briefing\nYou must be changed and ready for your swim race briefing in front of transition at the specified time. You will have a separate briefing by the Swim Director on poolside. \nTransition Area\nThe transition area is located to the rear of the swimming pool in the car park (this will be closed for oncoming cars). \nNB: There will be a dry and warm transition area for clothing weather dependent. \nSwim Section\nAccording to British Triathlon rules the pool must be tested regularly for water quality. The final test will be done prior to the event and results will be posted up at registration. In the unfortunate event of chlorine levels being above the appropriate limit for safe swimming in this section of the event this discipline will be abandoned in favour of a duathlon. We regret that in this case no refunds can be offered. Historically all previous water tests have been well below these limits. \nThe temperature of the pool will be taken one hour before the event and will also be posted up at registration. If the temperature of the pool exceeds the appropriate level then the distances will be reduced. \nBike Course (1 Lap)\nThe bike course is a total of 12.2 miles (20.3K) following an undulating route leaving the swimming pool taking a right hand turn onto Dog Row and then joining the Quay. If overtaking is not completed within 15 seconds the overtaking cyclist must drop back. Static marshals will check that all competitors comply with the drafting rule. \nIn order to monitor drafting our bike director will tour the bike route in an estate car. Judgment calls include\, but are not limited to: drafting\, dangerous riding and unsporting conduct. \nAppeals must be made in writing to the race official. The time for a competitor or official team representative to file an appeal is no later than 15 minutes after his or her finishing time or the posting of the infraction\, whichever is the later; however\, the intention to write an appeal has to be announced within five minutes of his or her finishing time or posting of infraction. After this deadline only announced protest will be admitted. A fee of £30 will be charged\, which is refundable if the appeal is upheld. \nWithdrawal from the Race\nIf you withdraw from the event at any stage before the finish\, please inform an event marshal. SUMMARY:Lisbon Eco Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Lisbon Eco Marathon is the only Marathon with its entire course within the city of Lisbon.\nIt positions the Portuguese capital in the calendar of this type of renown races around the world. \nEcology\, Competition and Social Solidarity are the main assumptions of this event. \nIn addition to the “mythical” distance of 42\,195 km\, you may choose running two additional distances\, the Half Marathon and a 12 km race\, thus opening the challenge to all kind of athletes. \nConviviality and good disposition are our main slogans. \nMost of the course is held in the “lungs of the city” – Parque Florestal de Monsanto (Monsanto Forest Park)\, in a way that minimizes the annoyances for the resident population\, due to the reduced need for roadblocks\, and at the same time makes it an event with one of the most iconic courses for the practitioners of this sport. \nIn order to make this event a unique experience\, we gathered the practice of this sport in a party atmosphere in the center of the city. \nThe start line coincides with the departure and arrival of the three distances\, to welcome athletes and their families in a comfortable and fun way. \nAnd it takes place in an iconic boulevard of our charming city – the top of Parque Eduardo VII\, next to the National flag\, which has a privileged view of Lisbon’s main arteries\, river and castle.
