SUMMARY:The International LSR Colombo Marathon 2018
DESCRIPTION:International Marathon in Sri Lanka\nSri Lanka well known as the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean” is fast developing in to an ideal destination for recreational activities. Its tropical weather\, white sandy beaches\, and warm waters of the Indian Ocean\, numerous inland waterways\, picturesque  landscapes\, and challenging natural terrain – all contribute in making it one of the finest recreational destinations in Asia.    \nLatest to be added on to the long list of activities could be done in the island is Marathon Running. \nIn the horizon is the LSR International Marathon – now known as the COLOMBO MARATHON\, which is set to take place on the 7th of October 2018. \nIt was very pleasing to note that more than 8500 runners including more than 300 foreigners from 46 countries representing all continents faced the starter at the 17th Edition of the series which was held on the 08th of October\, 2017. There were more than 800 support staff who worked tirelessly and contributed towards the success of this event. \n·The last day for Enrollments’ will be 20th September\, 2018 \n·The Registration is scheduled to take place on the 06th of October\, 2018 at the Sports Ministry Premises\, Colombo 07 From 09:00 hrs to 16:00   hrs. \n·The Race takes place on the 07th of October\, 2018 @ 06:00 hrs.

DESCRIPTION:In RACE the PEARL 2020 3Rd Edition; It’s a Race\, It’s Challenge & Discovery on a bicycle \nRace The Pearl is an Ultra-Endurance Cycling Race & Challenge connecting the two furthest points of Sri Lanka \, Point Dondra and Point Pedro over 600 kms on great paved roads. You will ride through buzzing towns but mostly surrounded by greenery \, paddy fields \, ascends descends \,the infamous heads winds of Northern Province and occasional torrential rain . The route is adjacent to two wild life parks and it’s not rare to sight colorful peacocks and an occasional elephant \, which is when the riders will have to take extra precaution . The route is sprinkled with many local roadside eateries giving you a multicultural dosage blended with warm Sri Lankan smiles and a frequent pat on the back for encouragement . During this unforgettable week\, competitors will experience the place\, the people\, and the beauty of this iconic country in full. \n\n\n1) The Course \nUltra X Sri Lanka takes place in a country nicknamed “The Pearl of the Indian Ocean”. \nThe event is based in Udawalawe\, which is located in the Ratnapura District in southern Sri Lanka. The area is known for its spectacular tourism\, wildlife safaris and hotels. \nThe course takes competitors past tea plantations and sugar factories\, through 10\,000 year old rainforests\, along stunning countryside trails\, and down rushing rivers. \nIt’s also very flat\, at 681m over the entire week. For a 250km race it’s pretty fast… \n2) The People \nDuring this unforgettable week\, competitors will experience the place\, the people\, and the beauty of this iconic country in full. \nAlong with a number of local competitors\, the Sri Lankan people are some of the most friendly you will ever meet! Do not be surprised when you’re greeted with freshly cut fruit and showered with cold water at interim checkpoints set up by those who live close to the route! \n3) The Campsites \nThe sense of achievement you feel after grinding through each day\, and the camaraderie you build with your fellow competitors in a jungle camp is what makes competing in the Ultra X series truly unique. \nOver the course of the week you will camp at 3 separate stunning locations and finish alongside a breathtaking lagoon\, where you can expect one hell of a party to celebrate your achievement! \n  \n
