SUMMARY:Göteborgsvarvet Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Göteborgsvarvet is the world’s largest half marathon! Run through the heart of one of Scandinavia’s most beautiful cities\, Gothenburgh. The course will be lined with over 200\,000 enthusiastic and sports interested spectators. Gothenburgs central location in Scandinavia makes it easy to reach by plane\, boat\, train or car. \nGöteborgsvarvet is an annual half marathon running competition in Gothenburg\, Sweden (often called Göteborg half marathon in English). It is the largest annual running competition in Sweden\, and the largest half-marathon running competition in the world\, with more than 62 000 entries. \nThe race takes place in May\, and has been organised annually since 1980. It starts outside\, and finishes in\, the old athletics arena Slottsskogsvallen in the Slottsskogen park. It takes off northwards over the large suspension bridge Älvsborg Bridge\, follows the north bank to the Göta älv river\, and returns over the Göta Älv Bridge\, goes through the inner city\, before reaching the finish. \nThe race has hosted the Swedish national championship race on four occasions (1995\, 2007\, 2009 and 2012). \nChoose between Göteborgsvarvet Half Marathon (Gothenburg Half Marathon) or try out the Yoga Run! \n  \n\n\n\n\n\nGöteborgsvarvet Half Marathon – 21 km\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYoga Run – first participants run 4.3 km and then a yoga / meditation pass awaits in Slottsskogen. SUMMARY:Swedeman Xtreme Triathlon 2020
DESCRIPTION:SWIM UNDER SWEDEN’S LARGEST WATERFALL\nBIKE THROUGH THE NORTHERN WILDERNESS\nAND FINISH ON TOP OF ÅRESKUTAN\n  \nBased out of Åre\, Swedeman is an official member of the XTRI World Tour. The XTRI family is growing and you can join too. The race offers this stunning course to the Swedish and international audience. Enter the 250 km distance triathlon before slots run  out. There are 250 slots available on a first come-first served basis. \n  \n\n\nSWIM:\nEncounter undercurrents and temperature changes to keep you alert and on your toes!\n3.8 kilometers in Öster-Noren\, finishing under Sweden’s largest waterfall. Average water temperature for August should be around 13 degrees Celsius. Athletes will run up a steep 400 m long track to access T1 above the waterfall. \n\n\n\n\nSWIM COURSE\n\n\n\n\nBIKE:\nThe road to the wilderness! Travel 205 kilometers from Tännforsen. along an incredible course with hill after hill after hill\, totaling nearly 2000m of ascent. You will likely encounter large wildlife including reindeer and moose so be careful out there! \n\n\n\n\nBIKE COURSE\n\n\n\n\n\nRUN:\nApprox 2000 metres of ascent\, tough terrain and some fabulous views.\nFrom T2 the run starts on a short section of gravel road before turning west onto forest paths and technical trails on the south side of Totthummeln towards Åre village.\nClimbing up towards Lillskutan you will run above the tree line for the first time during the run. This section has some fantastic singletrack that will allow for great views if the weather is clear. In the distance\, in northwest\, you can see the finish line just below Åreskutan. But that’s for later! There can be fields of snow on the trail or right next to it\, which can make for\nan icy run. On the top of Lillskutan the course turns east and then keeps climbing north on a snowmobile track. \nThe last 10 kilometres you will need to be accompanied by your support runner – it is steep and you will be tired. \nThe total climb from T2A to the top of Åreskutan is 1000 meters. Passing the top of Åreskutan and\nToppstugan\, the tiny waffle house\, may give you a view over Åre village below and the mountain ranges in the distance\, if the weather cooperates.
