Here is some information to help you get about during the race. You won’t be able to drive on roads that are closed. Many roads will only be closed for a short period. If you live on the route and will need to leave by car during the road closure we advise that you move your car before the closure starts at 8:15am. Therefore\, we ask that you listen to Marshals and stay off the course until runners have passed. We suggest that spectators watch the start and finish on Queen Street. The route has good pavement coverage so feel free to cheer on from all areas. \n\n\n\nSlower Runners: Wrexham 10K is a running event for all runners\, and safety is key for everyone. The roads are closed by the permission of the council. The race cut-off time is 90 minutes. Roads will re-open in line with this pace. If you fall behind this pace\, for your own safety\, you may be asked to withdraw from the race. \n\n\n\nABOUT WREXHAM 10K\n\n\n\nThe race offers a lovely route for all runners. SUMMARY:Country To Capital Ultra
DESCRIPTION:It’s true to say our always popular Country to Capital Ultra attracts a global field\, with some of the best runners in Britain and beyond racing the 43-mile course. \n\n\n\nThis famous race is the curtain raiser for the ultra-running season – and the starting point for those brave Go Beyond runners wishing to take on our Grand Slam of four ultra-marathons over 180 gruelling miles. \n\n\n\nCountry to Capital takes you through the Buckinghamshire countryside\, crossing the M25 – by bridge of course! – and heading towards the well-heeled surroundings of Denham. From there\, runners pick up the Grand Union Canal towpath for the final run into London. \n\n\n\nThe finish is near the Little Venice canal basin\, a surprisingly tranquil setting in the heart of the capital and close to both Paddington and Royal Oak Tube stations. The race concludes at The Stowe Centre\, where you can enjoy showers\, toilets\, and a large hall where you can relax after finishing. \n\n\n\nThis is the start of our Grand Slam journey – anyone who wants a real challenge can click on the link on the right-hand side of this page to book their place. Our Grand Slam includes not only Country to Capital but the Rose of the Shires\, Shires & Spires\, and Thames Trail Ultras. This is a truly incredible running opportunity\, and you can take advantage of our offer to pay in three instalments at no extra cost. \n\n\n\nCountry to Capital is historically a sell-out event\, so be sure to get your entry in early. It is fully tracked and interactive\, allowing your friends and family to follow your progress from the comfort of their armchairs. You can also make sure that you are following the route correctly! \n\n\n\nThe Geotracks link will be available closer to the race.

Please note the venue does not open until 8am\, so do not arrive early. \n\n\n\nRace EtiquetteAll runners will be running at different speeds so overtaking will be on the right\, if you are looking to walk some of the distance\, or Jeff for example\, we would ask that you take to the outer lanes\, it is important that everyone enjoys the event and as we would expect everyone to respect each other accordingly. \n\n\n\nAs we head into dusk\, you will be required to wear a head torch.  As it is bonfire night\, we expect the locals to be putting on Fireworks\, so potentially a unique experience whilst running the track. \n\n\n\nDistanceThe distance you run by your watch may vary due to the lap that you run in. We will only be counting the laps\, and that will dictate the distance covered therefore if you choose to take the furthest lane out\, the distance counted will still be by laps x 400m. \n\n\n\nVenueWodson Park Sports and Leisure Centre\, Wadesmill Road\, Ware\, Hertfordshire\, SG12 0UQ
