SUMMARY:New Year's Day Charity Swim 2018
DESCRIPTION:Charity Swim 2018\nStart 2018 off in a totally cool way by leaping into the invigorating\, glacier-like waters of Salford Quays for Charity Swim. Swimmers can do a swift 150m lap of the Uswim iceberg course or stay in as long as they feel comfortable in water temps of approximately 5degrees C! \nCommemorative swim caps\, medals provided on the day. Funky Hat Competition. Look the part! Wear your funkiest\, funniest\, original creations. Prize for the best dressed. \nDue to the expected numbers we’re organising swimmers into three ‘waves’ 10 minutes apart with the first wave leaping in at 11.00am. Be there to register from 9.30-10.30am where all will become clear. The first and second waves will comprise of experienced cold water swimmers with newbies and the ever-so-slightly-nervous dippers in the third wave so we can keep an extra careful watch of y’all. \nSwim for charity\nAll swim entry fees will be going to a brilliant\, local children’s charity (to be confirmed) By swimming on the day you’ll be putting smiles on lots of faces (including your own!)

DESCRIPTION:Andy Cook Bike Weeks 2018\nWhether you’re looking to prepare for the season ahead while enjoying the sunny climate and challenging terrain or just want to enjoy some great rides in wonderful scenery\, these weeks are a great way to start your year. The island offers a variety of terrain\, with significant mountain climbs as well as undulating roads\, making Lanzarote the perfect place to ride and progress your training. You will be taken to the beautiful North\, the fascinating Fire Mountains and to the far South. You will climb the steep Fémes\, a climb out of category\, and the long and beautiful Tabayesco\, and you will bike a large part of the IRONMAN LANZAROTE course. \nTraining \nAndy Cook and his team will assist and lead you on the rides in different groups according to your individual level\, from relative beginners to seasoned enthusiasts. \nThe routes will vary in length each day to offer different levels of difficulty. You will have many hours in the saddle with a relatively low intensity\, but there will also be time for other activities.  \nDuring the week\, there will be seminars/talks on how to continue your training when you return home and other subjects such as nutrition. Besides that\, we will have other social activities and at the end of each week\, we will have a celebratory dinner. During the long rides there will be stops for sandwiches and refreshments where you can take in the beautiful views. \nIf numbers dictate\, the programme will be amended to offer shorter rides than those advertised\, but will still cover the same areas and terrain. \nPricing \nThe price for the one week is 130€\, or 180€ for two weeks\, including all activities during the Bike week\, sandwich and refreshments on long rides\, t-shirt and the celebratory dinner. \nPlaces are limited\, early booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. Please note that the camp is restricted to guests staying at Club La Santa. \nIf you would like to rent a Cannondale Road bike for the week\, please contact sportsbooking@clublasanta.com with your name and the size that you need for prices and availability. \nFrom time to time\, there are not enough participants in an event to ensure that everyone can enjoy a good experience\, in which case we reserve the right to cancel. This happens rarely and should this occur you would be refunded the full amount. \nInstructors \nAndy Cook is a lifelong cyclist having represented Great Britain in the past. A well respected coach\, he has organized training camps for over 20 years. Andy has a very broad range of cycling experience which he is happy to share\, helping participants improve their own training\, technique and enjoyment.  \nJacqui Cook is a lifelong cyclist. DESCRIPTION:27th Siberian Ice Half Marathon\nThe Siberian Ice Half Marathon is an annual large-scale long-distance winter running competition in Russia. This running competition has a status of the coldest mass running event in the world. \nThe marathon will be held on the 7th of January 2018 at the Cathedral Square.  \nThe organizers offer participants three individual courses: 3\, 5 km (for running fans without any age limit)\, 7 km (for more experienced runners aged of 14 and older)\, 21.1 km (for trained runners aged of 16 and older). \nAbout\nSiberian Ice Marathon is an official competition that is included in the calendar of the Ministry of Youth\, Physical culture and Sport of Omsk region. \nSiberian Ice Marathon is the only major long-distance race arranged in Russia in winter. The event is held in extreme weather conditions of Siberian winter and has unofficial status of the coldest race in the world. \nSiberian Ice Marathon is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS).
