SUMMARY:Valentia Island Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:Ireland’s premier sprint distance triathlon. Swim from the mainland to the island\, cycle around the island and finish with a run to the slate quarry and back. Valentia Island is one of Ireland’s most westerly points. It lies off the Iveragh Peninsula in the southwest of County Kerry. It is linked to the mainland by the Maurice O’Neill Memorial Bridge at Portmagee. Simply beautiful! \nSwim\nThe swim will begin from Renard pier. All competitors will travel to Renard on the Valentia Island Ferry\, and swim back to Valentia Harbour. \nCycle\nThe cycle leaves transition with a tough climb for the first four kms before cycling across the top of the island\, at the far end of the island there is a sweeping left turn with views of the Skellig to your right\, from here passing the top of the Portmagee bridge continue to Chapeltown before taking the lower road to the transition area at Knightstown. \nRun\nThe run is an out and back leaving transition and following the cycle route for 2.5km before turning around and running back downhill towards the finish at the Royal Hotel. \n  \nCategories\n\nVALENTIA ISLAND TRI\nRELAY TEAM\n\nRelay team of 3. Known as the capital of triathlon in Germany\, this dynamic event features an unforgettable finish in the famous Town Hall market square. \nThis race offers 40 qualifying slots for the 2020 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona\, Hawai’i. \n \n  \nThe one-loop 3.8 km (2.4 mile) ROKA swim course offers a first glimpse of this stunning race in Hamburg\, which many consider Germany’s “Gate to the World”. The course leads from the Jungfernstieg jetty through the Binnenalster and the Außenalter lakes. \nThe new two-loop 180.2 km (112 mile) Ventum bike course is fast and flat with a short climb at the Köhlbrandbrücke bridge. It leads athletes out of the city and towards the idyllic Vier- und Marschlande region. SUMMARY:Porthcawl Standard Distance Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The aim of the event is to give like minded people the opportunity to race in a high quality standard distance event (Olympic) on the fabulous South Wales coast line. The swim is in the sheltered bay of Coney Beach. The race starts with an Aussie beach start with a two lap swim\, bike and run. This makes the event spectator friendly with continuous support along the course. \n  \nSwim \nDistance = 1500mtrs \nThe swim will take place in the sheltered bay of Coney Beach. The start will be an exciting Aussie beach start and consist of two laps of 750 metres exiting the water after each lap. We aim to make the swim as spectator friendly as possible with the two laps exiting the water with a short run on the Beach before commencing the second lap. \n \n  \nCycle \nDistance = 40k \nThe cycle route is 40 km over a two lap undulating circuit with excellent road surface. It will follow the natural coastline towards Rest Bay before heading inland and encorporating the climbs of Dan-Y-Graig hill and Stormy Down. There will be a Prime for KOM on Danygraig Hill. \n \n  \nRun \nDistance = 10K \nThe run course is flat and over two laps following the spectacular South Wales coastline.
