SUMMARY:Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Speed around the stunning Lake Vyrnwy in this awesome and incredibly popular Half Marathon. An event aimed at runners of all levels\, the route is flat as it loops around the lake\, making it the perfect Half for PB chasers and first-timers alike. Come for the buzzing race day atmosphere. \nPerfect for all runners as well as those seeking a fast time. An extremely fast one-lap race that offers spectacular views all the way around. Once you complete the run\, you will receive your unique finishers medal\, water and cereal bar. \n\nRace Start / Finish\n\n\nThe Race Start / Finish will be full of music and flags. There will be a help desk at Race HQ for any last-minute issues. The race village is just 8 minutes on the shuttle bus from the event car park (SY22 5JB). There will be food and drinks available on the day. \n\nRace Experience\nWe are keen to ensure that everyone enjoys the day regardless of their ability. Our generous race cut-off time will allow everyone to get back to the finish before we open the public roads fully. And at the finish line\, we will give out water\, medal\, and cereal bars. \n\nLake Vyrnwy Half Marathon Route\n\n\n\n\n\nThe route starts and finishes in the village of Llanwddyn and heads up to cover a clockwise lap of the stunning Lake Vyrnwy. The course is extremely fast and has a course record of 1.02.14 \n\nPrizes\n\n\nAwards for top 3 female and top 3 male and 14 age group winners (7 female and seven male) \nWhat’s included\n\n\n\n\nFinisher’s Medal\nPrizes for the top 3 female and top 3 male and 14 age group winners (7 female and 7 male)\nCereal bar\nBag drop\nToilet facilities at the start/finish\nFree shuttle bus\nDistance markers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent day logistics\n\n\n\nSunday 17th September 2023\n\n\n\n\n\n\n08:00 – 10:00 Park and ride\n10:30 Warm-up\n11:00 Half Marathon starts\n \nAge Requirements\nEntrants must be 17 and older to enter the Half Marathon.\n \nCut-off Time\nThere will be a cut-off time of 3 hours for this event.\n \nRace Packs\nIf you live in the UK and entered more than four weeks before the race\, your race pack will be posted out to you one week before the race. For those living outside the UK and those entering later\, race packs will be available for collection on the morning of the race at Race HQ\n \nAthletes with a disability\nIf you have a disability\, please contact Alan Lewis so the event organisers can understand your needs.\nThere is no wheelchair race\, but accompanied wheelchairs\, visually impaired and learning disabled athletes are welcome. Choose your start position with care. To avoid jostling\, it is usually safer to line up at the back of the race – the event will have chip timing\, so your race time won’t be affected. Let the organiser know\, and they will endeavour to make your race run smoothly.\nIf an athlete needs a carer or guides to accompany them during the race\, the carer is entitled to a free place in the race.
