SUMMARY:ATW Bedford Half Marathon & 10k
DESCRIPTION:Location: \n\n\n\nRussell Park\, Bedford\, Bedfordshire\, MK40 3RH \n\n\n\nThis chip-timed event is a sure-fire guarantee to give you the best chance of a PB in the Half-Marathon or 10K. \n\n\n\nThe one lap 10k course starts and finishes on the beautiful Bedford Embankment and runs out alongside the flat\, tree lined river Ouse. After heading out towards Priory Park and a lap of the beautiful Priory Lake you’ll return to the Embankment over the Town Bridge and hearing the cheers of the crowds at the finish line. \n\n\n\nThose tackling the Half Marathon will head back out for a second-lap with a slight extension to make up the accurate 21.1km (13.1 mile) Half Marathon distance. \n\n\n\nThe course will have both kilometre markers for the 10k and mile markers for the Half Marathon. \n\n\n\nThe whole route is on traffic-free tarmac or firm paths and with less than 50m of elevation across the 10k\, and 100m across the Half Marathon its bound to be a PB buster! \n\n\n\nThis event is more than just a run. You’ll be warmed up with personal trainers\, welcomed home by a professional commentator and your cheer-squad will be kept fed and watered by quality caterers while you run. \n\n\n\nA FREE Children’s Fun Run will also take place before the race start (no need to book\, just turn up to registration\, and you’re welcome to use it as a warm-up for the main event!) \n\n\n\nReason to Enter This Event:\n\n\n\n\nPB busting course\n\n\n\nBeautiful embankment run course\n\n\n\nWell marked course\n\n\n\nSupportive marshals\n\n\n\n5-star reviews on race check\n\n\n\nFREE event photos\n\n\n\nCustom designed medal\n\n\n\nFinish line snacks & goodies\n\n\n\nExcellent Previous Participant Reviews

SUMMARY:Run The Grim Reaper 2025
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that The Grim Reaper is back at the stunning Grimsthorpe Castle Estate in South Lincolnshire on May 24 & 25\, 2025. Runners have the option of four solo distances – 10\, 40\, 70 & 100 miles – plus 40-mile and 100-mile team relay options. There will be two 10-mile races\, one in the morning and a night version. \n\n\n\nExpect a mix of estate roads\, limestone tracks and grass trails. Trail shoes are recommended\, especially in damp/wet conditions. \n\n\n\nThe new direction for the Grim Reaper\n\n\n\nThe Grim Reaper was relaunched in 2023 by Steve Cole & Laura Bailey\, runners local to the Grimsthorpe Estate who compete in races of distances from 10km up to 100 miles. Their plan was to create an event that catered for runners of all abilities in a stunning location with a friendly\, supportive vibe. It’s fair to say that the 260+ runners in 2023 feel they achieved that goal\, judging by the 4.8* (out of 5) rating on Letsdothis.com. \n\n\n\nLocated at the beautiful Grimsthorpe Castle\n\n\n\nThe route is a 10-mile loop that covers beautiful grass trails through ancient woodland\, limestone tracks\, quiet estate roads and a stretch along a disused Victorian railway line. It also skirts around the picturesque estate lake before reaching the start/finish point in front of the castle itself. \n\n\n\nWe class this as an ‘undulating’ trail course with no major hills to contend with\, making it ideal for those new to ultra-running\, looking to take the next step to a longer distance or aiming for a PB. The course will be fully marked. \n\n\n\nRoute / Aid Stations\n\n\n\nThe 10-mile loop around the stunning Grimsthorpe Castle Estate includes a mix of grass trails through ancient woodland\, quiet estate roads\, limestone tracks and even a disused Victorian railway line. You also skirt around the beautiful Grimsthorpe lake before reaching the start/finish point in front of the Castle itself. \n\n\n\nMedics\n\n\n\nThere will be fully qualified medics onsite throughout the event. \n\n\n\nAid Stations\n\n\n\nIf you are running one of the ultra-distances\, you are expected to be self-sufficient and manage your own supplies. You are encouraged to bring your own tent/shelter\, which can be left close to the start/finish point. There will be an Aid Station at mile 5 stocked with limited snacks & water. There will also be a toilet located at the aid station. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS\n\n\n\n\nFood DrinkThere will be hot food and hot/cold drinks available to purchase throughout the event (from 6am on Saturday until 10am on Sunday).\n\n\n\nCourse MarkedYes.\n\n\n\nTerrainExpect a mix of estate roads\, limestone tracks and grass trail. After this our race day costs\, which are based on numbers\, have been incurred. \n\n\n\nIf you would like to transfer your place to another runner\, please email hello@bogdogrunning.co.uk with the runner’s name\, address\, date of birth\, gender and any medical information. Transfers after May 3 will incur a £5 admin fee. \n\n\n\nQualification Standard\n\n\n\nWhilst there is no official qualification standard\, we suggest the following: \n\n\n\n40-mile runners: Comfortable running 15 to 20-mile distances regularly. \n\n\n\n70-mile runners: Comfortable running marathon to 50km distances regularly. There is a very generous cut-off limit so those walking still have a good chance of finishing. \n\n\n\n100-mile runners: Have completed at least a 50-mile distance within a year of the event\, with a finish time of at least 13-hours. \n\n\n\nEntries\n\n\n\nYou cannot change the distance you have selected upon entry. However\, this is not a canicross event\, therefore they must start at the back of the field and be comfortable not to ‘race’. Dogs MUST be kept on a lead as there is Livestock on the Estate.\n\n\n\n\nPricing\n\n\n\n\n10-mile Day: £32\n\n\n\n10-mile Night: £32\n\n\n\n40-miles: £85\n\n\n\n40-miles\, teams of 4 max: £125\n\n\n\n70-miles: £130\n\n\n\n100-miles: £150\n\n\n\n100-miles\, teams of max 5: £285\n\n\n\n\nAll finishers receive a medal.
