DESCRIPTION:Location: \n\n\n\nRussell Park\, Bedford\, Bedfordshire\, MK40 3RH \n\n\n\nThis chip-timed event is a sure-fire guarantee to give you the best chance of a PB in the Half-Marathon or 10K. \n\n\n\nThe one lap 10k course starts and finishes on the beautiful Bedford Embankment and runs out alongside the flat\, tree lined river Ouse. After heading out towards Priory Park and a lap of the beautiful Priory Lake you’ll return to the Embankment over the Town Bridge and hearing the cheers of the crowds at the finish line. \n\n\n\nThose tackling the Half Marathon will head back out for a second-lap with a slight extension to make up the accurate 21.1km (13.1 mile) Half Marathon distance. \n\n\n\nThe course will have both kilometre markers for the 10k and mile markers for the Half Marathon. \n\n\n\nThe whole route is on traffic-free tarmac or firm paths and with less than 50m of elevation across the 10k\, and 100m across the Half Marathon its bound to be a PB buster! \n\n\n\nThis event is more than just a run. Like an illustration in a romantic fairy-tale\, crowning the top of an isolated hill\, the castle turrets and towers rise above the Vale of Belvoir. Looking over the battlements from the North Terrace\, you can see for miles over the counties of Nottinghamshire\, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The name Belvoir – meaning ‘beautiful view’ in French\, is pronounced today as ‘beaver’. \n\n\n\nFans of the TV series The Crown will recognise several scenes filmed at Belvoir Castle. This Regency Castle was the perfect fit to recreate the Royals’ residence. \n\n\n\nRaces\n\n\n\nThe Belvoir Castle event will feature some truly iconic courses amidst the 3\,000 acres of naturally designed landscape and a large range of races for all ages and abilities. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re 9 or 90 years old\, a first-timer or an elite\, you can pick from our triathlon\, duathlon\, aquabike\, aquathlon\, run and swim races. \n\n\n\nGoverning Body\n\n\n\nBelvoir Castle Triathlon and Multisport Festival will be a British Triathlon permitted event. If you are taking part in a triathlon or multisport event\, you are required to provide your race licence or obtain a BTF Race Pass.
