SUMMARY:ATW Bedford Half Marathon & 10k
DESCRIPTION:Location: \n\n\n\nRussell Park\, Bedford\, Bedfordshire\, MK40 3RH \n\n\n\nThis chip-timed event is a sure-fire guarantee to give you the best chance of a PB in the Half-Marathon or 10K. \n\n\n\nThe one lap 10k course starts and finishes on the beautiful Bedford Embankment and runs out alongside the flat\, tree lined river Ouse. After heading out towards Priory Park and a lap of the beautiful Priory Lake you’ll return to the Embankment over the Town Bridge and hearing the cheers of the crowds at the finish line. \n\n\n\nThose tackling the Half Marathon will head back out for a second-lap with a slight extension to make up the accurate 21.1km (13.1 mile) Half Marathon distance. \n\n\n\nThe course will have both kilometre markers for the 10k and mile markers for the Half Marathon. \n\n\n\nThe whole route is on traffic-free tarmac or firm paths and with less than 50m of elevation across the 10k\, and 100m across the Half Marathon its bound to be a PB buster! \n\n\n\nThis event is more than just a run. SUMMARY:Queer Hiking Group
DESCRIPTION:Summer is here. Boots are on. Back by popular demand for 2025\, it’s our Hiking Group for QPoC and queer migrants! And to kick off the season\, we’re taking on some old favourites alongside some brand new trails!\nThroughout the summer\, we’ll be taking on a series of small-group hikes\, led by our resident mountain leader-trainee\, through some of the most picturesque areas of the South and South East of the country. If you’ve never gone hiking before and want to give it a try with some like-minded people in a small group\, this is your chance! \n🗓 Saturday 23rd August – Rescheduled from July: Devil’s Dyke\, a 12-mile circular trail leading up to one of the finest views in South East England\, with some steep ascents and descents\, alongside stiles\, fences\, and farmland to walk through. We’ll be taking some of the ascents slowly\, but overall\, it’s a moderately challenging trail. \n🕒 Time: 10 am – 6 pm \n  \n🚆 How It Works 🚆 \nOnce you sign up\, we’ll send you the details or where we’ll meet\, what time\, and what to bring with you. We’ll also send you information on exactly which train ticket/s to purchase\, so that we’re able to travel together. After the hike\, we’ll reimburse everyone at least £10 against the cost of their journey. There are some stiles and gates\, and parts of the walk may be muddy. Toilets are usually available at cafes and pubs along the way\, but these facilities may not be accessible or gender-neutral. \n  \n💜 We like to keep the events free so they are easily accessible to our communities! If you want to donate\, please use this link. \n  \n💜Spaces at our events are limited and there is a cost implication for all the events we produce or take you along to.
