WHO WE ARE:
The Tribalistic Triathlon Team was originally formed and registered as a triathlon team in September 1995. The team has about 50 members – some who have been with us from the start, as well as rookies who just joined – who enjoy training in a positive environment with a great program to help us achieve our varied goals.

COACHING MODEL:
Tribalistic Triathlon Coaching Program is intended for competitive-minded age group athletes. Our program and coaching will benefit athletes just getting into triathlon, as well as more experienced racers competing for personal bests and top results at provincial, national and international races.

If you have the desire to train and improve, the Tribalistic Coaching Program and our workout environment will help you achieve greater performance and remain injury free.

The program allows individuals to manipulate their own training times to fit their lifestyle and meet their triathlon goals by offering six weekly workouts. Individual athlete/coach consultations can also be made available at any point throughout the season to assist with a particular athlete’s development.

TYPICAL TRAINING SCHEDULE:

Indoor season schedule: (October to March)

Tuesday 6:00-7:30 pm coached indoor group track workout at U of M Max Bell
Wednesday 6:00-7:30 pm coached indoor group bike/brick run workout at U of M Max Bell
Saturday: 8:30 am – 10:00 outdoor group run workout at Assiniboine Park Duck Pond
Sunday 8:30 to 11:30 am coached indoor group bike, circuit and outdoor run workout at Undefeated Performance. Doors will open at 8:15. Ride will begins at 8:30. Rides will be between 90-150mins, followed by a Core Stabilization circuit and outdoor run.

Additional workouts are available on Training Peaks for full members.
Typically 2 swims, 2 bikes, 2 run workouts a week.

Spring schedule: (April to June)

Tuesday 6:00-7:30 pm coached outdoor group running workout at Grant Park Track
Wednesday 6:00-7:30 pm coached outdoor group cycling workout meeting at Assiniboine Park Duck Pond – team/group riding skills (road bike if available)
Thursday 6:00 – 7:30 pm coached outdoor interval bike and brick run from Patrick’s house (time trial bike if available)
Saturday 8:00 or 9:00 am start coached outdoor endurance rides – times and start locations will vary to enjoy different routes (generally 9am in April, 8am in May) – updates will be posted on training calendar section each week.

Additional workouts are available on Training Peaks for full members.
Typically 2 swims, 2 bikes, 2 run workouts a week.

Summer schedule (July and August)

Tuesday 6:00 – 7:30 pm coached outdoor interval bike and brick run from Jared’s house (time trial bike if available)
Wednesday 6:00 – 7:30 pm coached outdoor group cycling workout meeting at Assiniboine Park Duck Pond – team/group riding skills (road bike if available)

TRAINING PEAKS:

What is Training Peaks?

Training Peaks is an online cloud based training platform that allows coaches and athletes to build workouts and upload workout metrics to the site for further data analysis
Coaches can create a structured workout within the app and share it with their athletes
Athletes can follow workouts and upload their own user data for further analysis
Workouts scale to athletes abilities based on training zones adjusted to each individual athletes’ abilities
Workouts can be emailed out to each athlete on a daily basis
Workouts can be downloaded to a compatible device for athletes to follow
Training Peaks app offered via IOS, Android, or desktop web browser
How does Tribalistic Triathlon Team use it?

Training Peaks allows athletes to complete the workout on their own schedule if unable to attend the group workout
Our head Coach builds out the training blocks with a goal build to the upcoming season’s local races
6 workouts a week posted by our coach on Training Peaks platform for all full members
As the dynamic training plan is updated and workouts are added, each athlete would have access to the workouts to either attend or complete on their own
Following each workout, athletes can log their workout, or upload their data to compare their workout to the prescribed workout, or track their own data week by week
Athletes have the option of upgrading their account to premium (On their own $$).
