SUMMARY:Ruta De Las Iglesias 10k Run
DESCRIPTION:10k Run Event 2018\nThe Ruta de las Iglesias 10k is a nonprofit race\, which was recognized as the best nocturnal race in all of Ecuador as well as one of the most beautiful nocturnal races in the world. \nIt is an extraodinary experience; it takes place at one of the most beautiful colonial districts of all of South America allowing our locals and foreign visitors admire with new eyes the central part of our capital city. \nThe race has a numerous group of volunteers and a chip timing system that allows precision in measurements. All athletes that reach the finish line will be given a medal and a thermal blanket; as well as participating in the raffle of fabulous prices for the winners of each category. \nOn August 25\, 2018\, the XIV edition of the “Ruta the las Iglesias” will take place with 15000 competitors. \nA portion of the inscription costs will be donated to the Special Olympics Foundation\, funds that will be destined to the Olympic Cycle Project; which promotes the participation of children and young people with special capabilities in 9 different sport disciplines at a national and international level. \nOnce again we want this race to provide its competitors\, local and foreign\, the opportunity to admire the beauties of our Colonial District\, and to enjoy a well organized race. \nPACKET PICK UP\nThe packet pick up will be on August\, Thursday 23 and Friday 24\, LOCATION TO BE ANNOUNCED. The competitor must present his inscription receipt or his identification document to pick up their race packet. \nCHANGES OF NAMES OF COMPETITORS ARE NOT ALLOWED \nRegistered athletes will receive\nEnvelope with instructions\nRuta de las Iglesias’ Magazine\nCompetition number\nElectronic timing chip\, TYR\nCollectable Race t-shirt\nPersonal items’ bag with numbered sticker\nBandana in support of Special Olympics \nRACE DATE\nSATURDAY AUGUST 25\, 2018 \nATHLETES TRANSPORTATION\nThirty (30) buses will leave from la Tribuna de los Shyris towards Av. America y Bogotá\, transport will be on a first come first serve basis. There will be limited spaces. Only the athletes that have their competition number placed in the front of their shirt will be transported. \n19:00 DEPARTURE ZONE\nThe athletes must arrive at the start line at Av. América and Bogotá at 19h00. (To access this zone\, the athlete must enter from North to South\, beginning at Av. América). Only the athletes that have their competition number placed in the front of their Shirt will be able to access this zone. \nDeparture will be by pens that will be organized according to the times achieved in the previous edition of the Route of the Churches or in a race with an official certificate of competence (information that must be sent to the organization until July 19\, 2018). \n19:30 RECEIVING PERSONAL BELONGINGS\nThere will be buses located at 18 de Septiembre street\, between Av. America and Versalles that will recive and store athlete’s personal belongings. Each competitor will have their own bag with his competition number. Here\, you will be able to place all your personal belongings and leave them at the buses accordingly to your competition number. At the finish line\, the buses will be waiting at the Tribuna de los Shyris. Each competitor will be able to retrieve their bag with their competition number. The personal belongings will only be received if they are placed inside the bag given to the competitor the day of the package pick-up. (The people organizing the race won’t be responsible for any article of value placed inside the bags.) \n20:00 START\nThe race will start at 20h00. \n21:30 AWARD CEREMONY\nAt the party zone – Av. de los Shyris. \nTHE AWARD CEREMONY WILL USE CHIP TIME\, CATALOGUED AS OFFICIAL IN THIS EVENT. The official award ceremony from all the categories will be taking place on Friday August 31st at 16h00 at the TVentas office on Av. Juan de Ascaray 355 and Amazonas (next to the Bull Fighting Plaza). The results of the competition will be published at 24h00 the day of the event at: http://www.rutadelasiglesias.com. \nKM MARKINGS AND HYDRATION\nEach kilometer will be properly signaled and illuminated. The hydration points will be located at: the start\, kilometer 3\, kilometer 5\, kilometer 7\, kilometer 9 and Finish. \nMEDICAL SUPPORT\nThe race will have medical support and assistance from:\nLIFE AND ACCIDENT INSURANCE EQUIVIDA \nFINISH LINE\nAfter the finish line\, the runner must return their chip and in exchange they will receive:\nCollectible athlete’s medal\nCollectible athlete’s bag\nThermal blanket\nFresh fruit thanks to Supermaxi\nA bottle of Dasani water\nA bottle of Powerade \nRegistration opens 1st June 2018.
