SUMMARY:Where’s Wally? Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Fun Run Event 2019\nJoin us for our seventh annual Where’s Wally? fun run on 17 March 2019\, kindly sponsored by Clarks. \nDress up as Wally and choose between a 5k or 10k route to help us give disadvantaged children a route out of poverty. There will also be a 1k race for under 12s to enjoy! \nOn the day there will be:\nChipped timing\nLive race results\nFood and refreshment stalls\nLive music\nKids rides\nFace paining\nFree fun races for kids\nAnd much more \nOur Where’s Wally? fun run is always a great day for both runners and supporters! You can register here\, or get in touch if you have any questions. \nDate: 17 March 2019 \nLocation: Clapham Common\, London \nRegistration fee \nAdult with costume £27\nAdult without costume £25\nChild (12 and under) with costume £14\nChild (12 and under) without costume £12\nFamily (one adult\, three children or two adults and two children) with costumes £60\nFamily (one adult\, three children or two adults and two children) without costume £50 \nMinimum sponsorship \nYour registration fee covers the cost of organising the event\, but we rely on our runners raising sponsorship to help us continue our vital work. There is no minimum sponsorship but we ask that all our Wallys raise as much as possible!  \nOur suggested targets are:\nUnder 12s £25\nAdults £100\nFamilies £150 \nThe easiest way to start raising money is to set up a page on JustGiving. Feel free to get in touch if you would like ideas\, hints and tips to smash your target! \nRunner’s Zone \nCostumes\nYou can wear your costume over your usual running gear and it will consist of a Wally hat\, t-shirt and glasses. You will have the option to pick up your costume from a Realbuzz store in London\, or we can post it to you before the race (there will be a small charge for this.) \nOn the day\nThe run will take place at the junction of The Avenue (the South Circular) and Windmill Drive in Clapham Common. It is easy to get to on foot from Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Road stations\, and Clapham South and Clapham Common underground stations. \nPlease avoid driving as there is very limited parking. You can use CityMapper to help plan your journey. \nThe approximate timings on the day will be \n8.45am: Registration opens\n9.25am: 1k kids warm-up\n9.30am: 1k kids race\n9.50am: 5k and 10k warm-up\n10.00am: 5k and 10k races starts \nThere will be live music\, kids’ games and rides\, and food and drink stalls available all day to keep supporters and runners entertained and well fed! \nThe races \n1k \nA multi-terrain 1k loop. Parents are able to run with their kids free of charge. \n5k/10k \nA mostly flat\, multi-terrain 5k loop (run twice for those taking part in the 10k). It is clearly signposted so please try to stay on the course. There will be plenty of marshals to help you. \nDuring the race \nYou will be given a timing chip when you check in on the day. This will register your start time as soon as you cross the start mat. \nAfter the race \nYour timing chip will register when you cross the finish line and all the results will be displayed on the day. We will also email it to you after the race. We will be there to congratulate you as you finish with a medal and goody bag\, and you can return your timing chip (please try to remember to do this\, there will be a £5 charge if you don’t return it!) \nFAQs \nFilming and photography \nWe will be filming and taking photos during the event. If you don’t want to be featured\, please let a member of National Literacy Trust staff know. \nHow to I change my entry? \nIt is no problem if you need to change your entry\, please just send us an email\, or give us a call on 02078 206 279. \nCan people sign up on the day? \nYes\, your friends and family will be able to sign up on the day. This will be subject to availability and there will be a higher registration fee. \nHow do I cancel my entry? \nUnfortunately\, registration for this event is non-refundable. However\, if you are no longer able to take part but a friend or family member is able to run instead we would be happy to transfer your place. It is not possible to refund any online sponsorship. \nWhat are the age limits for each race? \nThe 1k race is for ages 12 and under\, but parents are able to run with their children free of charge. \nThe 5k and 10k races are for ages 8 and over\, but we are able to make exceptions so please do get in touch if you would like to discuss it.
