Unfortunately\, due to large number of participants\, special diets cannot be taken into consideration. \nRoute\nHelsinki City Marathon route was renewed in 2015 and it has received excellent feedback since then. 2017 the route will be mostly the same than in 2016. The final route will be updated at the webpage as soon as it is confirmed by the officials. \nThe route has been planned based on the feedback from runners\, in close cooperation with the City of Helsinki. \nThe new\, faster route is made up of two laps where first one is longer\, having a approximately 8 km loop in the Southern end of the city and reaching all the way to Central Market Square\, City Town Hall and the Esplanades. The second lap is the same than first excluding the south loop. \nThe route has 15 well-equipped service points and it offers more spots for spectators than before. Many sights of Helsinki are also located just next to the route. Everyone runs in the same direction the whole time\, which makes running smooth and safe. \nThe route is relatively flat and comfortable to run. Please see the Elevation Profile in the end of the page. The runners are able to avoid hills towards the end of the race. The last eight kilometres of the route are run on flat\, paved road. This makes the course smoother for the runners and helps them break their personal records. The long hills that used to slow down and exhaust the runners at the end of the old route are now run twice in the course of the run\, but in the other direction. \nThe iconic Helsinki Olympic Stadium is under renovation until year 2018 and all races end at Telia 5G-areena just next door. \nThe police and traffic controllers will be controlling the route. At some point\, the vehicles might have to be let in between the runners and it might hinder the pace of the runners for a moment.
