Registered participants will be emailed ten days before Raceday to confirm final start times. \nRegistration\nRegistration will take place on the Plass outside the Wales Millennium Centre CF10 5AL on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning of the event weekend.\nSaturday: 12:00 – 16:00\nSunday: 05:00 – 07:00\nSunday: 05:00 – 06:15 (Sprint Duathlon)\nConfirmed weekend timings and locations will be detailed in your final instructions\, available on the website\, and via email ten days before the race.\nStart waves are allocated using the estimated finish time on your entry. \nRace Packs\nRace packs will be picked up from registration at the event village before the race start. This will include all your necessary race numbers and your timing chip. \nAge Requirements\nCompetitors must be at least 17 years old to participate in the Olympic Triathlon and at least 15 to take part in the Super Sprint\, Sprint\, and Age Group Qualifier. \nCompulsory Kit\nYou must bring a wetsuit to the event\, and based on the water temperature; the wetsuit may be forbidden\, optional or mandatory. The water temperature will be measured on race day and communicated with everyone participating.\nForbidden above 22°C\nOptional between 22°C and 14°C\nMandatory below 14°C\nYou must bring your own bike and helmet; E-bikes and power-assisted bikes are not allowed\, but any other bike is\, including mountain bikes. \nCut-off Times\nOlympic: Swim cut-off: 50 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 10:00.\nSprint: Swim cut-off: 30 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 10:00.\nSuper Sprint: Swim cut-off: 20 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 10:00.\nWorld Triathlon Age Group Qualifier: Swim cut-off: 30 minutes\, bike course must be clear by 12:50. \nTransition\nTransition opens early on the morning of the event and closes no later than 45 minutes before the first wave starts.\nThe transition will only be open for racking on the day of the event. It is not possible to leave your bike overnight. You may not enter transition for any reason after the allocated time. \nBTF Membership\nIf you are not a member of the British Triathlon Federation\, your entry will include the cost of a day membership for £6.\nWorld Triathlon Age Group Qualifier\nYou will need to have a valid membership by 17:00\, three working days before. Perfect for athletes of all stripes\, the swim takes you out into the Bay and the cycle along traffic-free roads before culminating with an epic run along the Bay Barrage. Come for the experience of a lifetime. \nCardiff Triathlon routes\n\n\n\nThe Cardiff Triathlon takes place in the city’s scenic bay and is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year. \nEach swim section will take place in the Bay itself\, before a quick transition and out onto completely closed\, traffic-free roads. Finally\, the race will end with a stunning run along the Cardiff Bay Barrage. \nThere are five separate events: \nOlympic Triathlon: Swim 1500m\, Bike 37KM\, Run 9KM\nSprint Triathlon: Swim 750m\, Bike 18.5KM\, Run 4.7KM\nSuper Sprint Triathlon: Swim 400m\, Bike 9.3KM\, Run 2.5KM\nAge Group ITU Qualifier: Swim 750m\, Bike 20.5KM\, Run 5.2KM \nThis year’s event will also host the British Age Group Sprint Distance Triathlon Championships (Draft Legal) which doubles up as an Age Group ITU Qualifier. \nThis race allows elite athletes to qualify for the ITU Sprint Distance Triathlon World Championship’s in Bermuda\, 2022.
