5k: 5:15 pm
The Quarryman 5k runs in conjunction with the Slateman weekend, which hosts triathlon, duathlon, and swim events. Therefore, this is a perfect opportunity for those supporting the above races who wish to get in on the action with a smaller race.
From the get-go, this Race takes runners on some challenging climbs. Starting with the infamous ‘zigzags’, runners are taken up a slate mountain to incredible views.
From here, the route tackles forest trails to the top of the main climb at Vivian Quarry, where the picturesque views will help you forget your tired legs. Then, back along with some exciting steep descents, runners will head past the Old Quarry Hospital and onto the final stretch for that photo finish.
Afterwards, enjoy the evening celebrations with all the weekend’s athletes.
