Hugh Carthy of Team EF Wins Stage 12 of the La Vuelta

Winner Stage 12 La Vuelta

Hugh Carthy of team EF (Education First) from Preston England won the 12th Stage of the La Vuelta in Spain. This stage is regarded as the toughest mountain climb in the entire race with climbs of 24%. Hugh beat favourites like Richard Carapaz who came in fourth and Primoz Roglic.

Hugh timed the race perfectly making his final attack at the last minute. It was an amazing ride and outstanding performance. Hopefully the British will get to know about him now!

The final stages of the race was slow but not less of drama as riders kept exchanging the lead. Chris Froome from team Ineos was getting back into form after his accident in this race as he assisted and supported Richard Carapaz in the late stages before the final two climbs.
